Low Beam LED Bulb Replacement on 2016 Chevy Colorado LT

I replace the stock halogen bulbs in the Colorado with cheap LED lights from Amazon (see link below), showing the difference. I also talk you through the passenger side replacement, and what parts need to be taken apart. It's not a simple process, but I have to say it's easier than my Acura RSX I had for 15 years. Hope this helps someone out!

One year review...these headlights still going and working just as well as a year ago when installed. Happy customer.

Thank you for posting this! The auto parts store that I stopped by to get bulbs for replaced my driver side one but they said they didn't have access to the passenger side one so after watching your video I was able to do it all on my own! Now I'm never going to have to pay somebody to switch out my lightbulbs ever again! Thank you!

Thanks made the job much easier on the passenger side. I removed the bolt for the horn bracket also. Gave me a little more room.

Thank you! I almost cried when I saw the passenger side. Then almost cried again when I saw that other video that talks about removing 5 clips. This way was much easier.

Thanks for this, it saved me a lot of work. You're absolutely right that the passenger side can be done w/o taking off all the clips, if your hand is thin enough to squeeze in there (mine was). The dust caps are a royal pain to get back on, so definitely don't undo the high beams by accident like I did! So much wasted time trying to get those caps back on.

Torx T20 - Bit or Driver should work

The Posted link to SEALIGHT Scoparc 9005/HB3 LED Bulbs... Those bulbs are HIGH BEAM lights, HB3 is HIGH BEAM. You need H11/H8/H9 to replace Low Beam lights on a 2016 Chevy Colorado. Yes, It is difficult to get that cap back on.... you just need to line up the slots, and push in kinda hard and twist on... they will go on...

Look at the GM logo imprinted on the back of the dust covers. When installed, the GM logo should be level, so line the GM logo up level in your hand, then twist the dust cap slightly left or right (I believe it is clockwise as you face the truck) - you'll feel the tabs engage into their slots. At that point twist it back to make the GM logo level, and it's locked in. Pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

The same applies to the ZR2 (‘19 2.8L). My passenger side headlight went out and I had to do the same thing. And yes, aggravating and annoying considering the driver side is easy.

My passenger headlight went out tonight and my T20 screw is all rusted out so I'll have to take it to the dealer. I don't want to strip it, they'll hopefully have replacements.

I’m not sure bud, but I believe you have to twist left out of those groves. Hope you got it taken care of.

It's a T20(Torx 20). You do not need the security T20...Just the regular T20

@@anniekahl902 usually comes in a standard Torx driver or bit kit. If the screw has the security tab in the middle you can just break that off with a small flat head by torquing it a little bit. A small flat head can unscrew them as well when you catch it at the right angle
