Kristie, I love that you pointed out, "this isn't a diet you start then stop". The weight loss was a great benefit but its the metabolic health and healing that comes with this lifestyle that, personally keeps me loving and living this way. Thx

I am so so grateful that I discovered your channel. I'm on week 4 now and I've already lost 10pounds and inches as well. I feel so much better without the bloating and low energy. I don't wake up hungry anymore and I sleep much better. Being a sugar addict really put a toll on me and I'm done playing with diets. This is probably the first way of eating that I think I can stick with. I've never been able to pass up desert or say no to someone offering sweets at work and now I do it with ease, which is shocking. Please keep making videos as they are helpful for me adapting to this lifestyle 😀

I just adore you so much! I am one week away from 3 months LCHF. I have lost 3 sizes but lately I have been having so many cravings for cake and donuts. I was running out of choices for food but now I am going to follow your recipes. You are so right about looking at cakes and donuts as making me sick. That really clicked with me and will now help me with my cravings. I was a type 2 diabetic, have been overweight my entire life and tried so many diets. losing just little bit of weight that I have so far has gotten me so much heathier! Thank you so much for all of your fantastic videos!! 🌹🌈🌼

I. So glad I watched your story. I had bariatric surgery in 2002, lost 116# and felt fantastic. Diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2004 and put on steroids. I have gained 40# back and have basically used steroids as an excuse to eat. Started LCHF did well for a couple months, had an MI and again used it as an excuse. Starting again and love your affirmations especially "just for today". I'm 67, work from home RN doing case management - very sedentary and trying to change that as much as I can. I have carb intolerance and my blood glucose plummets if I have too many carbs and not enough protein. Doesn't stop me sometimes from carb binging. Can't wait to try the recipes from your videos. They seem very family friendly and maybe will please my carb king husband. Thanks again.

Just recently started a Keto life style with my husband but my kids are a not quite on board yet. I found your channel a week ago and love your videos. I am not a cook but have really been trying hard. I tried the crack slaw the other night which was a hit with my husband. The kids saw cabbage and refused. I actually liked it a lot too and was super easy. I didn't have have all seasoning on hand but it still tuned out great. I love southern cooking...we are in NC...and your recipes are not complicated which is a huge deal for me. I have two left hands in the kitchen. Lol Thanks for sharing your story and cooking. I love your smile and southern charm. I work too and have 3 kids. My oldest is an adult (23) but I have a 12 and 16 yr old boys. So i appreciate the tips and tricks for preparing and dealing with family dynamics. I hope and pray this lifestyle helps us not only with weight but overall health. I think your simplified approach has helped me because I had become obsessed with following a strict formula because I am so desperate to rid my body of the inflammation, pain, and weight, that I was tracking every bite and wasn't eating enough. I was not listening to my body and now I feel much better that I am. I also make sure I keep the fat up. I have eaten low to No fat for so long that it's a mindset I have to break. God bless you and your family. Appreciate you sharing your journey and food.

Hi! I just found your channel and have been watching your videos every chance I get.... while making dinner, loading the dishwasher, after I put the kiddos to bed, etc. You have such a beautiful family and i'm so happy that you found keto and are able to touch so many people lives!! I've lost my first 20lbs after having a baby (he's 4 months old now) and I'm currently at 230 so I have a ways to go :) It really resonates with me that this is for life and not another fad diet and I do need to make this diet my own and I appreciate you giving us the holiday/ special occasion/ entertaining meals along with the everyday, busy weeknight meals. You always provide an enormous amount of information in your video and you're as cute as a button!! Keep it up, you're simply amazing!!

Thanks for what you do, Kristie, it is so helpful to the rest of us! I started a ketogenic diet in mid-may of this year (2016), and have lost 35 pounds in 5 months. It's little slower at my age (62) than I would like, but I'll take it! I recently had my annual physical and I was a little concerned about how my labs would turn out -- I needn't have worried! My old school doctor was very impressed. She is still on the low fat train, and I thought she would lecture me on the fat issue, but she said to just keep doing what I'm doing. "Good cholesterol" HDL was WAY high, LDL was right at normal, triglycerides were WAY low, and fasting blood sugar was perfect at 80. I was doing the happy dance!

Just started watching your videos last night and I'm obsessed. My husband and I did Keto diet when we were back in college. It was hard since I love carbs. But we managed to stay on it and lost quite some weights. But then we started working, it got hard to prepare food. We went back to carbs, and gained a lot of more weight. This is our second week on Keto now, since I realized I have let it go too far. I enjoy watching your videos, your recipes are great. I think those recipes will help me stay on Keto easier.

I'm so glad for your videos Kristie. I'm 20 years old, I was diagnosed pre-diabetic, from a pre-existing condition which I do not have control over, at 15. I struggled for years with diet, weight, medication and digestion problems for years before I discovered the LCHF diet late last year. I went strict LCHF in the first few months of this year. However, at the time I was only a student and could not afford even a high carb diet. I tried by best, lost 10 kg and had no heart burn, indigestion etc. It was great! But I met my now boyfriend and got a job and since then my life has been crazy busy and I eat out a lot more. That sort of shifted me out of keto a while back. Now I'm in that stage of trying to get back into keto. I definitely prefer a LCHF diet, but it just becomes so difficult sometimes. Thank you for your encouragement, I am definitely more determined to get back to it.

sounds like you've had goof success with a lchf lifestyle in the past. less expensive options include eggs, ground beef, canned chicken or salmon or tuna, and less expensive cuts of meat. I look for meats on sale. it isn't always easy, but you don't have to buy coconut oil or expensive flours. my best to you!!

I have spent so many years yo yo dieting due to the fact I have always seen healthy eating as a diet that always has a starting point and an ending point. This means no matter how healthy I become or how much weigh I loose, I always regain the weight. You have such a healthy mindset towards this lifestyle

I heard you all the way over in Europe, Belgium.🌸 Keep up the good work. Over the last 3 months I lost 14lbs but was struggling with cramps and not feeling well. So I have had a pause regained 3lbs, stopped the cramps, reassessed and am now ready to go forward again. The keto increased my ldl so I have had to reassess where I get my fat from. Diet drinks and their sweeteners seemed to have caused the cramps. This is not an easy path to follow. The pause confirmed to me that all the bad stuff comes back quickly so like you say it is wiser to avoid the stuff that makes you ill.

Another one down. Your video's are so addictive. I am so new and see how fast some have lost and I am so very slow, but I am feeling good. Of course I want to drop the weight and know I want to see my primary doctor and my cardiologist in March and would love to have this amazing weight loss. I understand about the immune system from a different program I was on, but could not get back on it. This just feels like this has to be my last stop for life. I am so glad I found your site. I am going to be 74 next month so this old body has been trough a lot. God Bless.

Thanks so much Kristie for another awesome video. Love that you're out of the kitchen and sharing/showing LCHF is more than just eating. It's living the lifestyle. 😀 I've been eating Keto since Nov 2014 and didn't lose a single ounce until just recently. Considering I have 100 lbs to lose, the natural question is why continue?! Well the NSV (non scale victories) made it worth it. My severe joint and knee pain went away, my digestion improved unmeasurably, I sleep through the night and I'm dreaming again! My energy level might not rival @stephanieketogenic, but for a person who suffered mild depression it's pretty dang high!! And the biggest NSV- no hunger! The fats keep me satiated so I'm able to make the best food decisions for my body and honestly, I just don't crave carbs anymore. I only bring out the scale on the morning of the 15th of every month. If my weight stayed same, I'd just shoulder shrug and know that I'm giving my body what it needs to heal. The weight loss will come

I am so excited I found your channel. I lost about 45 lbs doing keto from May 2013 to January 2014. I spent the next 2+ years sort of doing keto, but, of course, the scale didn't budge. Well, actually, I gain 5-7 lbs around my wedding last fall... Since June 1st I have been sticking to keto, and I'm finally losing again (down 10 lbs). I still have 80 lbs to go. I seem to only lose a pound a week lately, which can be discouraging, but videos like yours are definitely helpful and encouraging. You are definitely an inspiration!

You should be thrilled with one pound per week lost. Remember, it's not a diet. It's a forever lifestyle. Excess fat is a symptom to another issue inside your body. It takes time for your body to heal itself after metabolic damage caused by carb addiction. Forget about the weight and concentrate on healing and the weight will melt off!

Hi Kristie, I came across one of your videos for a recipe and was just hooked with your lifestyle and story. I am 31 years old at 239 lbs and have PCOS, insulin resistance and everything that goes along with that. I have 3 kiddos, 9,4,3. When I was put on bed-rest in the hospital with my last pregnancy, I really started to get depressed and eat constantly. I managed to eat myself into gestational diabetes. My hormones have never quite recovered. My back hurts a lot as I have some lordosis and my belly is pulling my frame forward. I can hardly walk in the mornings because my feet hurt so bad. And the tiredness!!! I am on day 10 of keto. I can say my foot pain has gotten better and I feel less swollen, but have been a bit discouraged that I still have not lost weight. I do feel more satiated and not stress eating, which is why I was hopeful I would lose some weight. I am trying not to get discouraged! This week I will focus on the hidden sugars and buying more quality ingredients. Thank you for sharing your story to inspire others. It has helped me feel hopeful.

Love your channel, especially the shopping sprees. I'm still looking for a mayo see though, don't want to. Make my own, maybe someday, but it's only been a month for me on keto. I feel my belly went down a bit but haven't list any weight that I know. But I feel good and I got off carbs and sugar due to IBS problems that were tearing into my work and pleasure and so keto somehow entered the picture. I'm 175 and need to get to 145, well I want to. I'm 71 and a 5'1" walking fatty pear. Snapped grandma. I love your affirmations as they are part of my life and I believe Jesus directed my path here, so I could feel good while waiting for His return. Thank you for so much info. Did weight come off slowly for you at the beginning ? I do get discouraged when I hear this person lost 20 pounds in a month, and another just keep changing sizes as the months went by. Always hopeful. God bless!

I watched this sitting on our deck facing the lake because your setting just demanded a serene viewing. I'm about to hit the 2-month mark and I'm amazed about that; it seems like it was only yesterday I was just starting and worried about "keto flu" (I didn't need to be so worried). I'm so thankful I found your channel right as I was starting, not only for the recipes, but because you really show how sustainable and dare I say easy this way of eating is. I'm *slightly* nervous about the holidays - yes, there is an Aunt Sally in my husband's family and her name is Mom - but I feel way more confident now than ever before. Thank you as always for sharing this.

I think I'm sad now because I have binge-watched almost all of your videos, LOL! I love, love, love your channel. I love shopping through Vitacost and Amazon. I'm a junkie when it comes to those places, LOL! Going out shopping I stick with Costco and Aldi most of the time. It's been years since I ordered from Netrition, but I may look into them again. I just had surgery on my foot today, so it will be a few weeks before I can do any real grocery shopping. But it isn't keeping me from going off plan. I cooked all kinds of stuff yesterday since I have to be off my feet for several days. Hard boiled eggs, chicken salad, baked chicken strips, sausage and mashed broccoli.

I love, love your videos!! I'm on Day 20 of keto and love everything about it. I was on 4 shots insulin a day now I'm on 1-2, depending on the carbs amount, if I stay 12 & under total carbs then its 1 up to 20 and its 2 but its just fantastic to be off of fast acting! I love your videos and I watch them over & over.I have been low carving since January but had surgery in June and kinda stayed around 75g under till I healed up. Past 35 days been strict but past 20 I have stayed under 20g. Keep those videos coming, you are my inspiration!

Hello from Tijuana Mexico, this is my 3rd day on Keto and I have lost 4lbs (it's probably water from what I've read) I have also binge-watched and love you channel, here in Tijuana it is a little hard to translate the ingredients or even find very keto friendly options but I'm trying :). My husband is trying to be very supportive but he is also concerned anyways he just told me that he bought me some chickpea flour is this something I should be using again I am one week into the diet and I have a low tolerance to wheat products and I have tried to leave it alone and once I start feeling better I will fall back into old habits until I start feeling sick again on this diet I do not feel very deprived at all plus the fact that I have four daughters at different stages of this diet and the reason for them trying this diet is because they are having health issues .I have really appreciated your videos so thank you for taking your time to do them they are informative and encouraging.

Yep, I am gluten sensitive, I see gluten as something that makes me sick. I can go into crispy creme and get my kids donuts but it almost never crosses my mind to eat a donut. Not that I couldn't but because I know the result of that 3 minute indulgence - hours of discomfort. This is my way of life. If I go off plan it's not a failure I have the rest of my life on this WOE ;) thanks Kristie, you inspire me 💕

Thank you for your videos 😎 My husband and I have been eating LCHF for about six weeks now. We started it to get control of my husband's blood sugar, but I'm losing weight pretty quickly. I don't own a scale, but my pants are falling off, my shoes are too big and I almost lost my wedding ring, oops. I don't really nitpick counting calories or carbs or anything. I have a tendency to get obsessive about numbers in a way that isn't maybe healthy. But I try to understand the carbs in foods we eat frequently so I have an idea that we're on track. In general, though, I find it pretty easy to keep our fat high, our protein moderate-ish and our carbs low. Your mountain looks lovely ✌🏼️

+Aimee Good for you! Sounds like you are doing super well! Your ring comment made me giggle because my husband actually lost his wedding ring because of the weight loss. I wear my ring on my third finger because it no longer fits my ring finger, but it also means I get to wear my grandmother's wedding set. I love wearing it because it makes me feel closer to her.

Thank you Kristie! You are a true source of encouragement and information for us all. I just ordered the book "Why are we fat" because I am concerned about the effects of all this fat long term..I still don't get the science behind it, but I have seen the results. Another question for you: Do you eat nuts at all? I love pecans and cashews and I have heard that Macadamia nuts are good for LCHF. Thanks again. I can't wait for more recipes (Chocolate "cake") and more dinner ideas please! You are awesome girl! God bless!
@CookingKetowithKristie
@CookingKetowithKristie 9 жыл бұрын
+GolgolaklovesGod We definitely eat nuts, but I have to limit them. Pecans are great in crusts and are lower carb than almonds. Macadamia nuts are great, but one serving is an ounce. Weigh that out and you'll see how hard it can be to limit portions. :-)

I love your recipes and I want you to know your videos are an inspiration and will continue to help me so much :) I like the bit where you explain how you 'dont want' bad foods rather than you 'cant have' them. Ive been using that thought process lately and it is so much healthier to think that way. We all want what we CANT have right?

Hey Kristie! Another great video! I could listen to you talk all day! My progress this round with LCHF has been so slow. I don't know if it's because I have done this before so getting into ketosis didn't take as long or maybe I didn't have quite as much water weight to lose. I started out again on LCHF last month because I am in my sister's wedding and wanted to be sure I would fit in my dress! Well next weekend is the wedding... I was looking forward to adding in some carbs. I have actually been carb loading this weekend as I thought maybe I was in a stall and was going back super strictly this week. I have been so inspired by your story and with your encouragement and reminder that this is more than a diet; but, a way of living to prevent more than weight loss but a body that isn't aching and sore all of the time. I have decided that I will attempt the 20 TOTAL carbs per day. I think maybe things have been moving slowly this time because I have been experimenting with yummy treat recipes and "guesstimating" my carbs. I really do love the low carb options you suggested like burgers for breakfast. I also love leftovers and brunch as the first meal of my day. Thanks again for taking the time out of your rest time to help others!

many folks have told me that lchf is harder if you lose weight weight, gain, and then go back to low carb. sounds like that has been your experience. based on what I've read and my own experience, I'm not sure I could add carbs. each of us is very different, but I live in fear of adding carbs, and, as a result, giving up on keto altogether. some folks can carb cycle, but not me. I'm pretty all or nothing.

Your the absolute cutest! Thanks for putting your story out here. I've been doing low carb but low fat for over a year. I had lost 40 lbs but was always so hungry also trying to keep my cals under 1200, anyway so I came across your videos & thought I should try it. I'm actually up 5lbs, but I'm not discouraged necessarily but I'm worried all the fat being so caloric I'm getting out of control with the calories. I'm for sure on this plan for ever, but I do love a bite of something here and there. I love how you always say we are all different and that's ok. I love your attitude and your information your so informative and I appreciate it. Thank you!

I've just discovered your channel. Thanks so much for your recipes, I must give some of them a try as they look delicious. I've followed HFLC now for about 9 months and lost over 90lbs but still have a lot to lose. The odd time I've eaten high carb foods I've been so ill... painful inflammed joints, low blood sugars, spotty skin, night sweats and extreme fatigue. I intend to follow this way of eating for life as I feel amazing whdn in ketosis. My bloods and BP are great too, just a small rise in bad cholesterol, but also a rise in good cholesterol which is protective. Wish I'd known how bad a low fat high carb diet was for me years ago. Keep up the good work! xx

+shelly Babcock LOL! Isn't it just decadent?! Keeps me full until the afternoon most days when I eat that well. The odd thing is that I never tire of it. It's as if food just loses the appeal that it used to have. I think we have to consciously replace it with other meaningful things.

+Crystal Tisher Glad that you find it helpful. I will tell you that I'm not convinced that exogenous ketones are helpful or necessary. I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but if you stay on plan you body will use ketones--its OWN. If you're burning exogenous ketones, aren't you using less of your own and isn't that a concern?

I have another question. The Keto way of eating sounds wonderful and something I could do, as long as I get over those first 3 weeks, with the addictions. Kristie, I feel like I’ve met you. I have been eating LCHF for several months now. My labs are so much better, my fibro is not near as bad with only a few flares. My a1c is back within normal range and y HDL is now 85!! Even still, my doc is upset because I refuse statins for my 280 cholesterol. Having said all of those wonderful things, I have only lost 2 pounds. I’m confused. I have read that if I eat too much fat, my body will burn that first instead of burning stored fat! Can you explain, please? I’m so happy for your success! We need to get you on Food Network! Thanks, Kristie. Love, Diane

Since I just found you I am having a day with watching everything. I enjoyed this so much! I share so many thoughts you have shared. I started eating LC about 18 months ago and thought I was doing LCHF but I guess I wasn't. I did lose 40 lbs and had all the great experiences. I had stalled... I need to loose about 10 to 15 more. But I lost a lot of muscle too! I think I was just more Atkins did not know about the fat, although I did eat more in the bacon and cream. I am now trying to really to eat clean and do have a trace of fruit berries. I lost with it..but I have learned so much more so I am going to get more Keto!! I wanted to tell you your smile is beautiful!!!! Your whole face lights up and you are such a sweet beauty!!! on to the next

Thankyou...I thought I lost a little but wasn't sure. Of course, it's subtle, because I have a good deal of weight to lose. It felt like my bra fit a bit better...and my stomach wasn't as large. But, after all this struggling, I thought it was in my head lol. I told my Dr. not to tell me my weight, I didn't want to become even more discouraged, she said, "You have lost some weight, 8.5lbs in the last month and a half" She was happy for me...I've only been seeing her for a few months, due to moving to a new area. She didn't see me thin, prior to the weight gain, so she really doesn't know how unusual my weight is for me. I have never been this heavy, even when I was full term w my daughter. So yes, Kristie, I am pleased, but after so many months of trying, it was like "finally, Jesus"...I know you understand what I'm feeling. I look forward, to eventually getting a nice outfit, and feeling better. My body frame is slight, and this weight hurts!!! I have a new understanding about weight...I have always been empathetic, I was a chubby kid...So, thanks Kristie!! I finally got my metabolism to start. Sorry for the novel!!
