Competitive niches are attractive because of their earnings potential. But it doesn’t mean that low-competition niches can’t be profitable.
If you don’t have enough resources, it’s better to start in a sub-niche with lower competition, build some authority to your site, and then niche up as you grow.
When choosing the five low-competition niches, we wanted to find out the following things:
- if a niche has a decent market size
- if there’s a clear cut way to monetize the site
- if there’s a search market for low competition keywords
- if there are low-authority websites getting a good amount of search traffic for relevant topics

Now, let’s get to our niches. The first one is test preparation for graduate and professional schools.
Students usually don’t want to just pass an exam. They want the highest rates so they can apply to reputable schools. As a result, they spend tons of money on test prep.
How would you monetize this niche? You’ll learn how from the video.
The next niche is snowboarding equipment.
This niche had a market size of over a half a million dollars in 2020. And despite the fact that snowboarding equipment is generally pretty expensive, you can still enter this niche by creating an affiliate site.

Golf equipment is pretty expensive too so it’s better to start off with an affiliate site, just like the snowboarding equipment niche.

Nice one Sam! Snowboard equipment seems the best as its easier for most people and you can easily pivot to other outdoor activities when your site gains authority. All others are quite difficult IMO.

Hi, very interesting this video and actually my ecom company falls into this category I was curious, how would you approach an SEO strategy if you had some great short tail low competition, high volume keywords for products that you sell but hardly any long tail versions keywords? Suppose, there is a new product on the market, and 10 fresh affiliate sites review that product. Quality full 1000 words, A mobile model with all its features and related faqs. Same question but nearly same answer covered by all the sites. On page is perfect for all sites. No site gets any backlinks. How do you measure and which site will get ranked? How do you measure a site's strength without a backlink especially for a brand new site with zero EAT?

Google search console shows Crawled - Not Indexed. I have published around 20 blog posts that were on shopify. Now moved the whole blog to Wordpress. Any tips to get this issue fixed?

Homepage links are probably the easiest to get but it’s not going to move the needle the most initially. I still think it’s a necessary step though. If you need to make your marketing spend back ASAP, probably best to focus on low-competition keywords first that still have commercial value for your affiliate model. -Sam

Not necessarily. Was just giving my opinion that all baby product affiliate sites that I've come across are a hot mess. When there are no "authorities" in the niche, I personally look at it as an opportunity. Of course, my opinions are biased to my own experiences. -Sam

Hey Sam. You don't actually show you you find the domains unless I just missed it. you only showed how you found keywords with low KD. Would be nice to see how you actually got to finding the domains. Because I still don't understand how people are able to find gems like these in 10 minutes? It takes me hours upon hours to find sites like these and that's IF I find them.

I am currently developing a site and it has a very competitive niche so it has no organic search at all so I try to work with social media and use Google AdSense but still a very meager amount of money is coming in. I decided to try ahrefs keyword tools and I wonder on average how much revenue I can generate if I choose the right niche, and how long it takes for a new domain to rank up and how long it takes to get traffic to the site, based on your experience can tell me. For me that really if I make enough money through sites. But I love this case very much.
