the libromancer also has no real way, if the nouvelle player just sits on the low lvl Rituals until he can otk. only way out is to either otk with 3 direct attacks or be lucky enough to run the chef pendulum over with fireburst. rarely you can out the lv 1/2 nouvelles with the negate trap. on lv3 and up the trap might not even work, since they trigger off ANY monster target. pretty stupid if u ask me. The libromancer deck is fun to play, but if you basically insta lose to the one of the loaner decks, its frustrating, especially if you tend to run into nouvelles more than any other deck.

As someone who uses both a Chaos engine & a Nouvelles engine... I've hit some rough times with a few decks, notably Libromancer & Mikanko.

It bricks.... hard.... only issue I have with the deck tbh. Other than that it has a ton of gas when it's not bricking, and can "Eat" most boards going 1st or 2nd.

yeah, the main criticism with the loaner deck is you do kind of get thrown into the deep end - it's not easy to learn (I've seen multiple opponents just click buttons, blow up their own boards, then scoop) and it can brick haaaard, so sometimes you just have to play whatever garbage is in your hand and hope.

A good amount. Blue-Eyes is unwinnable unless they play bad, go first, or brick (so 50/50), and I now hate Lava Golem (why was this card not banned).

​@@theKingmaker108I played Drytron Megalith and usually negating the advanced ritual art or chaos form with Herald of Mirage Lights was enough to stop them. If not, legit just summon two Phaleg bro, 4K attack ain't shit. If you can't pull that off you can always crash with the big Drytron monsters.

@@Capta1nTD I was playing Impactation Megalith (without an extra deck as I like suffering and am cheap), and Phaleg does just win (i.e. winning when they went first).

If I understand correctly it's because the monster is being destroyed by a rule. A monster can't be on the field without being in a zone, so it isn't either a card or an effect that's causing the destruction.

Only if it's a mandatory effect. You cannot activate a card like Change of Heart in that situation because you cannot fulfill the effect of the card, but if there's a mandatory effect, the monster has to change control, has no place to go, and is destroyed. Chaos Max is destroyed even though it's immune to destruction by opponent's card effects because it isn't being destroyed by a card effect, but by the game mechanics itself.

​@@mbrusyda9437 It's not destroy as in the in-field term but destroy because it violates the game mechanics. Cards that activate when a card is destroyed won't activate if this happens.

@@delaneycharlie4521 it's INSANELY satisfying to take apart decks like that with a ritual/conventional deck though - it's like actually solving a puzzle at that point.

The monster equipped doesn't get stolen as you don't have a zone to put the monster in.

I thought it doesn't allow you to take it if your board is full the same way you can't snatch steal if your board is full.

If you have no zones left in the Main Monster Zone the monster that you're trying to summon is destroyed

@@aki-nee3440 I'm probably wrong but in yugioh if you set up a situation that ends in a looping game state they just destroy the card causing the problem as a rule? if there's a mikanko on field when you equip you have to take the monster but with a full board you can't so it just offs MAX

​@@aki-nee3440what I'm guessing is that in this case, you're not activating rondo directly but rather directly equipping via ohime's effect, which bypasses the activation restriction

The smart one I saw had the otk after I bricked. I think 90% of the others scoop as soon as chaos max gets tributed.

the spell that was activated equipped onto chaos max. normally it just takes control of a monster by putting it on the side of the field of the person who activated the effect. But, since there was no available zone for chaos max to change into the board it was destroyed. Not via card effect, but via the game's ruleset

Tough ruling to look up, but basically it seems to happen because the effect of Ohime skips the activation it doesn’t check if you can activate the effect, you normally can’t activate a take control effect with a full board, so the game changes control and try’s to place it in your zones but it can’t and you can’t have monsters you control on your opponents field so the monster is destroyed due to game rules.
