Guys it’s okay to get angry at someone when you feel mistreated! Obviously dont go so far as being verbally abusive or resort to personal attacks, but sharing how you feel is healthy. And if they leave you because they don’t like your reaction to **their** behaviour, let them walk. That’s just someone who can’t accept responsibility for hurting you

Your partner having low self-esteem can also lead to dating disasters. My ex girlfriend broke up with me two months ago and now keeps saying that she’s “not good enough for me” and that “I deserve better”. It’s maddening to me because she cannot understand no matter how much I tell her that she IS good enough for me and that that is my decision to make, not hers.

I went through this same thing with my ex. Never had I experienced such a strange, intense behavior pattern in any of my prior relationships, which is how I got to this channel. If you're with someone like this long enough, their behavior will effect you too. He burned down the relationship and sabotaged it within 6 months. I was sad for a while because I cared for him, but I'm grateful it ended. I hope she heals, and you do too.

If someone tells you you deserve better 1) sounds like something someone who isn’t faithful would say. In which case you don’t want them anyway, and I would *not* advise accusing them of anything or confronting them on that 2) I bet your partner thinks you’re incapable of moving on or sticking to NC. NC will definitely have an effect on this person. But you’ve got to have enough self-respect to take them at their word. If you can accept life without this person, get stronger, they’ll come back and feel like a fool for saying something like that. Honestly it’s one of the worst cop outs to tell someone imo.

Your advice is really solid on this one. I think until you leave, you can’t understand truly what is going on until you step away and have the rose colored glasses off. We have to listen to our emotions, keep our hearts from falling too quickly and with the wrong people. That’s what I’m working on right - my codependency. I just want to feel less alone, stronger in my boundaries and really see who they are to me. I don’t always feel ashamed or guilt. Sometimes I think I should call again too and try to make amends. But I see it that it would be hurting me more than anything. When he was being distant after a blowup, I saw he was active on bumble and he was just acting like he didn’t care about my time/emotions/how he reacted/treated me. It was pretty selfish. And that’s why I gotta give myself some grace too. It wasn’t all my fault. Yeah I can probably seem needy at times, but I wasn’t blowing up or shutting down on him. I wanted to be what he wanted. But he didn’t want what I wanted. He didn’t respect me. And that just isn’t love boo. And I’m happy I told him what I thought and walked away. He wanted to stay friends, but I said no. Some people are just not ready to have healthy relationships or communication. That is not my fault. But I will be telling myself to be slower paced next time to protect my heart.

And stay away even if you love them. This is a repeated pattern of breakup/he hooks up with someone/ always end up contacting him, more outta habit than anything else. Honest observation 2 bpd that have lived in disfunction too long and I am exhausted. Emotionally, mentally and physically.

I agree that her getting so attached so quickly to someone who is clearly an awful partner screams massive attachment trauma. She deserves better than this douchebag man-child. He needs to grow up….and I’m not talking about his ‘elevated friend’.

Obviously only good people get on your channel. It's good to know your worth when you are sincere in love and really care because if you're one of those persons who thinks they are perfect 👌 and is just a gift to the world... this isn't 4 u. Going to the mental health you speak of. A proper foundation you have to already have or come from in order to be sophisticated and of this level.

Hi Craig. Can you do a video on partner threatening breakup, then I have to convince them why to stay and then when I say let’s break up they don’t want to. Confused
@djpdyson
@djpdyson 2 жыл бұрын
Leonard you do not have to convince them to stay. As a matter of fact don't convince them to stay. They are being manipulative by threatening you so call the bluff. The next time they do it, you're only responses okay, good luck to you then and you leave. And you go no contact. They broke up with you. And when they did that they violated the relationship. Do really want to be with somebody that manipulative anyway?

So he's not being emotionally supportive or even emotionally available yet he wants sex... not a good way to go. This woman is obviously interested in a real relationship... not just casual sex involving no feelings... I hope she doesn't settle for his neglect and abuse and works on becoming more emotionally secure.. maybe to take more time to trust in the future 🙏

@Coach Craig - It is my experience that dating 'midlife' (after previous marriage[s], children independent & grown, with either huge debts or assets to 'protect' post divorce) is a whole 'nother ballgame. GenX is jaded... I think we were jaded before our 20s TBH... and most of the dating advice doesn't really apply. Example: When we pull back, say "I love you but I'm not IN LOVE with you" it likely means we are bolting in fear, we are bolting because we have messed up 18 year olds that we need to focus on, we are bolting because we have 5 years to retirement (the major corp ones with unions behind them, specifically... and there's A LOT of those) and we just want to focus on our careers, etc. etc. I would love some content more targeted at the GenX midlife divorcees. Just a thought :)
