yea this episode kinda broke me. between stress for the management situations hes creating for himself and laughing because of how silly it all is... to knowing i build a base in the same place because i thought the zone looks neat and the later realization of how awful the world design is in this game. i predict most issues will be resolved next episode though and progress will be made. despite deep base being in literally the most pointless and useless place in the game its still kinda cool

Refusing to build lockers is one thing but building base modules to free up inventory space is galaxy brain shit.

I mean I built bases everywhere even just a power room and scanner so I could see the topography of the whole world and yea this works is trash. Dead end everywhere with 1 point of interest in each. So bad

Which right now would be totally useless... he has not enough PRAWN scans, he cannot bring the seatruck down here (and considering he spent the fibers, he won't for a long time). I would rather say he is being stubborn on not building the modification station, available from the day he found the diamond. Or maybe the scanner room, since now with magnetite is a must.

@@roborob4296 No, you can’t take them out once you put them in. I wish he would have just moved the hatch to the new room instead.

I don't think you can take reactor rods out of the reactor and it'd take ages to wait for them to finish, so that's probably why you can deconstruct it with fuel inside. I imagine it's the same with the bioreactor.

It's definitely the same with the bioreactor! To be fair, I don't use the nuclear reactor, so I don't know whether you can take the rods out.

This wasn't overlooked. Once you add fuel to a reactor (bio or nuclear) it cannot be removed.

i mean... a waste of 2 hours at most but a nice location at least? i liked the look of the place. honestly cant think of many places in this game that is actually good for a base. its funny the 1st game was like we all built in the shallows cause thats where we started but the world was so open we built bases where we thought looked cool and everything connected. this world design is just stupid pockets meant to go get 1 alien component and maybe a rare resource and then never to return.

Or use the seatruck storage, or bring the quantum LOCKER down here, so much he could do instead of rabling about rooms.

hes not aware of the awesomeness of the big room yet. i predict many future moments of him kicking himself for "my life would have been so much easier if i made all this early" when he first started i was surprised how much he remembered from the first game and expected that past knowledge to make his prioritizing of upgrades in this game go faster..... which is has to an extend the information overload of the new stuff i think god him way off track on a lot of things.

No need to be so rude, my guy. Honestly, playing through this game blind, and seeing how the game usually is so conscientious about making sure that resources aren't consumed when something is deconstucted, it's pretty much an oversight and failure of the game that it just totally destroyed those fuel rods. Especially when deconstructing stuff will either prevent you from doing it if there's valuables parenting to it, or when undeploying something will retain what's within its own inventory, like the quantum storage locker. The nuclear plant not even dropping the fuel rods, items that can't even be removed, when it's dismantled, is just kind of shit coding in the game.

@zorentradico5659 First of all, all other buildings with an inventory asks you to empty them before being disassembled so Oliver would have had no reason to expect the reactor to work differently or to assume that there’s any danger in blindly deconstructing. Secondly, let the man build the base he want’s to build the way he want’s to build it. And lastly, if you can’t handle the content just don’t watch it, nobody is forcing you to. If for whatever reason you still do, please refrain from dumping all your negativity out on others.
