I just recently purchased this too. It’s great! I put the stand under one foot of my chair, or I put a heavy weight on it. It is so easy to work with. The metal color makes it look very industrial, but they come in different colors. I made my own magnet board and I love to keep my needle minders and scissors attached to it.

I was scrolling through to see what video I wanted to watch when I saw you were doing a demo on the Lowery stand. I have been thinking about getting a stand and I so appreciate your video because it answered all the questions I have had about the stand. Also, thanks for the tip about Sew and So and giving us their web site. I have been watching your progress on your knitting, I have been knitting for many, many years, and I think you are doing a great job. I am going to have to binge watch your videos now. Happy stitching and knitting. Lynn

Great video, Gerald! I love my Lowery too. I don't have the large frame adapter, so it was great to see how that worked in case I'd like to buy it in the future. Thanks!!

Great explanation. I have the stand with a round accessory tray that fits on the vertical rod below the arm. I love it. I do use a 3 lb diving weight on my stand platform, as I have had my stand tip over when unattended. I am considering the connector for the magnetic pattern holder.

You can buy them on Amazon now. I purchased one last Friday and it was delivered today (Monday). It’s my second one. Intended to go in a different room, but I think I might also play with using both - one on either side - if I ever stitch something very large. My only issue is that they wiggle a little - I wedge a cloth between the stand and the side of my sofa.

I love my Lowery stand. I use it every day. It was the best investment that I ever made and I got it for 1/3 of the price that you can get it in the States including the UK shipping charges. I also got it from Sewand So.

Hello, I was wondering if you could help me with a question. I just purchased a frame second hand but it has the corner clamp rather than the side clamp. Will I still be able to use the large frame adapter with a corner clamp please?

Wonderful, thank you for sharing. I have a lowery stand and love it but I was curious about the large frame adapter. I have a large haed and this will definitely be beneficial though I need to buy a frame also, my Q snap is just not working real well.

Can I use my 36” scroll rods on this stand with extender “L” bar? I would use a weight to make stand more stable and secure.

Heh Gerald, I just ordered a powder coated silver gray frame. I enjoyed your video explaining what you have. My question to you is where do you put your tablet? Is there a way to attach it to the magnetic holder where you put your paper charts? Or maybe the accessory attachment that a light is attached to would work? I’ve been searching shops in Canada but so far don’t have much luck.

howdy GGS! i too have a lowery stand purchased from sew and so. the 10% discount and sale price made this a very affordable birthday gift for me... the video was great! i do want to know if you have used anything (lubricant) to kill the annoying squeak? the instructions say to use wax furniture polish...i am one of those people who wants specifics....sigh....so any ideas? thank you!

Hey Gerald thanks for the overview! I have the same setup minus the pattern holder. Question - I am starting a full coverage piece in the top left corner. With the large frame adapter, is the only way to get to that stitching area to have the stand sitting on the right side of your chair? Mine sits on my left how I currently use it. I hope that made sense!
@gingergerald6 жыл бұрын
No I have mine sit on the left and just have it hang out over, the adapter does a good job maintaining an adequate level of balance. It might lean a bit but not too bad, all depends on how long your frame is
@sylviae.sanchez53256 жыл бұрын
Thanks Gerald. So the Lowery clamp goes between the large frame extender and the fabric? Would you also show the complete setup with the Omanik frame on the extender frame being attached to the clamp? Thanks again !!
@gingergerald6 жыл бұрын
Yes I plan on making a follow up video with that!

Where did you get the “Omni” frame?
@jellybabies476 жыл бұрын
Hi Gerald. This looks an excellent stand. Just wondering if the metal clamp damages the wood on the Omanik frame. This applies to the normal clamp and the large frame accessory. Please let me know. Thanks.
@gingergerald6 жыл бұрын
I have been using the frames and stand for well over a year now and have had absolutely no damage or wear on the wood of the frame. I know some people have placed some moleskin on the clamp to add some added protection, but I have not found the need to do that!

Thank youx
@mavistrout80956 жыл бұрын
Hey Gerald thanks for sharing this! So my question is still if you have the large frame holder on a larger piece you put the clamp on the large frame holder not the frame like you normally would if you were not using the large frame adapter. I hope this makes sense. Thanks a bunch!!!
@gingergerald6 жыл бұрын
Yes, place the clamp on the large frame adapter that way you can slide the frame on the large frame adapter as you work across the project. I hope that is clear
@cherylbell78976 жыл бұрын
Hi Gerald! Great video and very informative, but I'm being obtuse...what do you use the large frame accessory for? Does it hold your larger frame stable? Sorry! And do you like your Omanik frames and where can they be purchased? Thanks for all your work and time doing these videos.
@gingergerald6 жыл бұрын
Yes! The accessory helps keep it stable and you can slide it over while not having to move the entire stand. So say, I finished a page on Henry, instead of moving the entire clamp and frame which has a limited amount of movement, I can put it on the large frame accessory and then slide the frame as needed to make the workable area more convenient.
@gingergerald6 жыл бұрын
Omanik frames can be found on their webpage by searching the name. I love them, especially for large projects like HAEDs

Thank you Gerald for the explanation. I have a question, have you used a Millenium frame onto the Lowery stand?

New at owning a Lowery, I'm looking at getting my "first" scroll frame, so I'm sorry if this is a "dumb" question. Why wouldn't you just clamp onto the side bar of the frame? I am looking at getting the 60x20 frame to work on my Mirabilia Queens, so I can bead as I go. Currently I use qsnaps and just clamp onto the side? Wouldn't I do the same?
@gingergerald6 жыл бұрын
It is not a dumb question, you most certainly can clamp the scroll frame onto to Lowery without getting the large frame accessory. But the larger the frame and the heavier it is, you run the risk of the scroll frame leaning as it stretches away from the stand base. The large frame accessory centers the base of gravity so your work stays parallel to your workspace and eases your stitching
@lauraharrison98934 жыл бұрын
Where can I get the ominek scroll frame? Seeamfso is out of business
@annevogel41696 жыл бұрын
Hi Gerald! Quick question about the Lowery. Will it clamp down tightly enough to hold hoops? Or is it meant only for scroll frames and Q-Snaps?
@gingergerald6 жыл бұрын
Yes it will hold hoops! I have held wooden hoops in it before to stitch.

I have some questions about the Lowery stand. By watching your video I see you know a lot about them. My question is there two different sizes/weight of stand? What I mean by that is I ordered a Lowery Stand off Amazon. (or what was advertised as a Lowery) I found out quickly I was going to need the longer bar. I went back to Amazon but the extension bar was not available there. I then went directly to the Lowery site and order it from them. Which was rather pricey because of the shipping. When it arrived I was SO EXCITED!!! That was until I try to assembly my stand with new extension bar. It did not fit. The "tubing it was made of was lot bigger then the metal "tubing" my stand was made of. Do you know if there are two different models of stands made with different size tubing. Thanks for any information you can give me. Right now I am thinking I am going to have to order a new stand straight from the company. TIA- Diane

Unfortunately I do not know if there are two different sizes. Sorry to hear you are having so many difficulties

Thanks for the info!! great idea about the weight!! Whats the measurement of the base?? also not quite sure about the end of your video. Omanik frame holds fabric very tight but you mentioned something amount having a nominal "tension" "curve when using the Lowery!! Also many thanks for the info on Sew & Sew. I t was their store that had given me the info on the base. They were very helpful!! How long was shipping??
@gingergerald6 жыл бұрын
Shipping for me was about 2 weeks
@gingergerald6 жыл бұрын
What I meant was that, when using the large frame adapter, the adapter will push on the fabric a bit causing it to curve up which has a very nominal interference with stitching
@nancydubin93286 жыл бұрын
thanks!! will check out sew & so!!! lookin at monstrik too!!

I see on Sew and So, one is silver grey and the other is stainless steel. I ordered from Amazon and have no idea which one I ordered
