These might just be one of my new favourite tacos!
In this video i'm going to show you how to make Tacos Al Pastor!
In this video i'll be covering off the below:
- Marinade recipe
- Meat preparation
- BBQ set up

You can follow along to this recipe if you have another type of smoker or you can even use your oven too!
Here's where I got some of my ingredients from on Amazon:
White corn flour (Masa Harina): amzn.to/3DXA5m7

Guajillo Chilli: amzn.to/47xm3oP
Ancho Chilli: amzn.to/3OZmtwM
Here's the marinade recipe for your reference:
- 3 Guajillo chilli
- 2 Ancho chilli
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 3/4 cup white vinegar
- 6 large cloves of garlic
- 3tbs paprika (preferably achiote paste)
- 2tbs brown sugar
- 2tsp ground cumin seeds
- 2tsp ground cinnamon
- 1tbs dried oregano
- 2 tbs kosher salt
Here's the green sauce recipe:
- 3 jalapenos
- 1/2 a brown onion
- 3 tomatillos
- Juice of 1 lime
- 5 cloves of garlic
- Handful of coriander
- Salt and pepper to taste
Here's the tortilla recipe
- 1 cup white corn flour (masa harina)
- 3/4 cup warm water
- Pinch of salt
You absolutely need to give these tacos Al Pastor a try for yourself!

Herbies Spices, an Aussie family company run by the Hemphill family sell both Guajillo and Ancho chillies. Plus a wide range of spice blends and hard to find spices.

Great episode mate ... and great channel. Not sure if anyone has mentioned it (I haven't read all the comments), but Chile Mojo on Magill Rd has everything you used there, including the flour, the tomatillos in tins, pretty much everything, including the tortilla presses. Cheers

You had me at tacos! Seriously here in the Central Valley CA we have some of the best Mexican food around! I feel for you man. We can get all those ingredients at our local discount super store. Everyone here has a tortilla press. It is like having a big pot in your kitchen. There are dozens if not hundreds of recipes for tortillas. We also either dip in the sauce or even fry them after dipping the entire thing in the red sauce.

Also those tortilla presses are perfect for pumping out heaps of thin burger patties if you don't have a burger smasher or flat top to cook them on.

You should try adding pork lard to the tortilla mix. I'm sure it will be even more delicious! Great cook! I'll have to give it a try!

Spicyness in peppers comes frome capsaicin, not seeds. The seeds can be covered in capsaicin from the placenta in peppers but they're not spicy from themselves. If you don't want heat don't add peppers. Do deseed peppers though to remove bitterness from the seeds.
