I never knew "offal" was pronounced that way until watching LRR's Commodore Hustle Halloween episode, where it featured prominently. Apparently the USA have their own way of pronouncing it. Or it's one of those things where people read it and make assumptions on how it's pronounced?

Fun fact: Falkenrath reaver is the first Vanilla (No effect) "Bear" (2/2 for 2) on red. Before it every 2/2 for 2 on mono red had either a "negative" effect if it costed one colorless and one red or a regular effect if it costed 2 red mana

Make a Wish/Grapple with the Past was just one of the insane number of artistic stories told on the cards. Basically every werewolf was a self-contained two-art mini-story, Endless Ranks of the Dead and Relentless Dead, the normal and promo art for Anguished Unmaking, etc. This set, along with the other Innistrad block, was really where I started nerding out about artistic storytelling in Magic.

I like when they tell a story with the cards, through the art and the mechanics. The call-backs to the previous Innistrad block were pretty cool too.

Fun fact: the Liliana packs of Eldrich Moon were more likely to contain a mythic than the other pack arts.

@@MSUHitman I believe it was select mythics for the rare/mythic slot, the DFC slot could be any rarity in any pack

The big advantage for Enlighted Maniac in limited was you could feed it to a card with Emerge and still have the 3/2 main body. Big tempo advantage, most Emerge monsters were chonky bois.

I have no clue why, but this set was absolutely riddled with packaging oddities. Most infamously, you could easily map packs by opening a couple, spotting which had good rares, and open every third pack behind it for all of the box's valuables. We had to instore a company policy of shuffling EDM boosters when we opened new display boxes at my LGS!

I can relate to delirium, I also have too much in my graveyard. But then that just happens when you live long enough. That got darker than I had planned, but I guess the algorithm accepts all sorts of offerings.

Enlightened Maniac was alright in the Emerge deck. the mana cost and body bein on two separate things meant you could sac it to emerge something without losing something you cared about much while also not having to pay a lot to get down nothing at all.

Someone loaded the packing machines wrong. It's happened before. Found starter boxes of 5th where the lands didn't exist.... they were replaced with uncommon/rares.... Made a small profit by buying the boxes and selling singles back to the store with a couple of coworkers.... ;)

The Shadows over Innistrad block really messed with me. Hard. I can do all types of horror, but horror where sanity erodes, bodies are twisted? That goes straight through to my heart and just does me in. I could *not* play this, and will never. It triggers me.

Well this was fun. I'm curious, is it easier to make the cut away to the card a still image or take like a 10 second video of it? Speaking on production. Like just take a still image with the camera, or record it but just not move the camera?

Boon of Emrakul on Dusk Feaster let me get the last hit in on a stalled board during game 3 of the final of the 1 sealed LCQ at GP Indy 2016 so I got the 2-round bye, & VIP Status for the rest of the weekend. I wonder if you guys ever opened my Eldrich Moon pack I gave you at PAX East I believe 18, I’ll have to find an archive list somewhere.

If the entire box is like that, that means the other double faced cards are somewhere and some other boxes rares ended up in this box. So now the question is, where is the box where every pack has 2 double faced cards but no non-double faced rares?

We do understand that Providence does two different things, right? Or it does the same thing at two different times? I think it would be pretty demoralizing to be facing off against someone and it triggers on turn one.
