This is a fig I've talked about in previous videos. A fig bred by Lousiana State University with Celeste in its parentage making it a fine fig for all of the east coast and the PNW. A must have here as it's productive, early and stands up to the rain like no other. Hidden from birds and only needs 3-5 days from swelling to be ripe. Very enjoyable. An 8/10.

Looks like the video cut out. The last point I was making is that the fig needs only 3-5 days after swelling before it's ready to be picked. Whereas other figs need an entire week or 14 days, this one does not. Really fantastic for someone with pest or bird problems as there is a lower chance they will be attacked this way.

Your previous Champagne video sold me on getting this variety soon. I'll probably get a Smith or I-258 to go along with it. Hopefully it does as well in west PA as it does for you in the east. Thanks for all of your videos with input on the various varieties and how they do in your climate. It's been extremely helpful to me!

You sold me! Lol been hearing good things about champagne and after this video going to look for one! Where did you get yours I’m in NJ. Have you compared this to Exquisito?
@RossRaddi

www.justfruitsandexotics.com/JFE/product/champagne-fig/ Exquisito I'm sure is a tasty one, but unproven outside of California. I may look for a cutting next year. It's a totally different fig than this though.

Wow LSU Champagne! Sounds like a good choice for my location in the Pacific Northwest. Question: Do you know anything about the unreleased “LSU Red”? (I’ve propagated a cutting this spring but can’t find much info about it on the internet.)

Yeah. I've got it. Could be quite tasty. On the late side. I'll have some ripening in September.

You have an incredible number of container fig trees. How do you winter them? I thought they had to be garaged or placed into a greenhouse.

Nice fig. Ordered Celeste yesterday, so its funny you mention it. Down south, 7b. One suggestion, get a mic or use a headset as the audio goes in and out (quieter) . Sometimes have to max the volume and that isn't enough.

There actually no editing on this one. Very strange that you're having a problem on the laptop. The audio is the same on phone, laptop or desktop.

How can I get Champagne fig cutting in UK. People in the USA are far more advanced than we are. I’m a new comer to fig cultervation and very limited to variety’s and also expensive . Over in the states you are spoiled for choice plus very affordable prices. George

Oh my gosh. You got a big disapproval head shake at the 8th second of your video. I don’t have cable (I try to pick wisely for my 5 and 8 year old from KZfaq, Netflix, Hulu, and prime) and watch a lot of you. First thing this morning I turned on this video and immediately turned it off and the kids were like, what happened? I went to the other room and watched the first 10 seconds and realized you said “becoming” and not “f#cking.” Lol. Not that I care, my husband and I are vets and have potty mouth, too. But for a second I was like, “Nooooooo!!” Sorry I lost faith in you and I should watch everybody’s entire video anyways. Thank you for the wonderful videos, love. Keep up the good work and I hope my family gets to meet you at the fig festival if we are able to go. ☺️

+Ross Raddi my husband and I are disabled veterans. He was too physically injured to make it and I thought I could make it on my own - but I’m 100% mentally disabled with PTSD and couldn’t make it. Ugh! Maybe next year once I get my service dog I can go out there with my 2 young children. Tried to make it 4 hours away to the Ohio pawpaw fest instead and couldn’t do it. But hey, silver lining. Looking forward to seeing your videos with my babies. They’ve never had a fig, pawpaw, or a few other of your exotic varieties of fruit - but oh boy - do they love watching you talk and eat those fruit. Lol. Have a great night. ☺️
