The Wolverines survived an upset scare from a hot LSU Tigers team. Michigan was able to clinch their spot in the Sweet 16 thanks in large part to Chaundee Brown's 21 points off the bench. See the extended highlights here.

This was the biggest win so far imo. After the struggles they've gone through all March they needed to know they could be a great team under the big lights. Huge confidence booster

I totally agree. If it doesn't happen this year it will happen within the next 5 to 6 years. He is a phenomenal recruiter and he already has proven he can coach. I definitely see this team winning a championship in the Howard era.

Look at the box score. Michigan 22 assist, LSU 8. This is one solid team, that plays the game right. Give LSU credit, they just did not have the horses in the barn to play with Michigan.

By horses in the barn I guess you mean the refs? Rewatch the game the only time Michigan went on their runs, the refs were calling bs fouls in their favor to slow the game down. They didn’t have the horsepower to run with LSU.

What you expect in March. Both teams really fought. Michigan just a deeper team and play better team basketball. LSU iso offense seems to be live or die. Michigan had key contributions from 7 players. LSU seemed 3 maybe 4 deep. Fun basketball though.

Michigan played great team basketball while LSU went ISO the entire game. It also explains why LSU's half court offense is so trash, because they rarely ever run set plays, all they do is really run ISO with either Thomas, Watford, or Smart. I suppose that's why team basketball always wins over individual play.

I think Thomas and Wagner are the most physically gifted. But Wagner is so maddeningly inconsistent. As you saw late in this game there are stretches where he can be nearly unstoppable because he is so long and can shoot. But there are other times you look at him and say who is that tall stiff that is afraid to drive or shoot? I mean chaundee brown got a lot of much deserved credit with his defense especially down the stretch but when brown was not on Thomas down the stretch Wagner was guarding him. In fact it looked like Wagner got a piece of Thomas shot on that late drive down the lane.

The officiating in this game was horrendous. Bogus foul calls on Michigan a drive down the baseline by Michigan where Michigan stepped out of bounds but it was not called. Both teams played well and did not let it effect them.

Man I was nervous when Howard originally got the job (to be fair he calmed my nerves after we won the battle 4 Atlantis tournament) What a job he’s done with this team in his 2nd year coaching. If I’m the AD I’m giving him a lifetime contract now lol

As a Michigan fan LSU is a helluva team! Congrats on your guys season. This Michigan team isn’t the flashiest but man they are winners. @None Of your Business that does not mean livers will join them. What is his nba position? Is he a small forward? He does not look athletic enough to keep up with the amazing athletes at that position and does not shoot well enough like a Duncan Robinson to offset any defensive deficiencies. he is only 6ft 7 230 which would make him Undersized for the power forward position. The guy is a tweener.

Love seeing it this team is connecting big time and knows what needs to be done to win love that last 3 by Williams after the buzzer he needs to take more shots seems hesitant. Smith looks rough down the stretch might need to give more mins to Zeb let Smith take a longer break.

In my humble opinion LSU will be one of, if not the best scoring/shooting teams Michigan will face in this tournament. A way harder game than Gonzaga and Baylor faced. Reeves is a one man show, Oklahoma has no other had no other aspects to their game. Baylors defense is great but I think Wisconsin would of lost to LSU especially the way they were playing... over 80 pts a game is just wow! Michigan deserves more credit for this win, on to the sweet sixteen!

This game strangely reminds me of North Carolina-Arkansas (2017), which the only team from a deep conference made the Sweet 16 while its conference colleagues didn't make it out of the first weekend.

Nice inside outside combo with Brooks and Dickinson. With Wagner on the wing Michigan can beat anyone. They can definitely win this whole tournament, lets go Blue!! Bring this championship to Ann Arbor boys!!

Good win Michigan. This was a good game. For the life of me I couldn't understand how LSU was a 8 seed. I thought LSU would have been about a 4or 5 seed

Big win for MICH. The ONLY BIG10 Team left ( 9 entered Tourney. LSU has a very good Team. IF They all come back (which some won't) & work on perimeter D, They Final 4 next season.
