Can someone explain the context to this? I feel like I'm missing it.

@@brianh5844 Opponent did fuck all. They cast 5 spells (one of which didn't do anything) and drew a bunch of cards off clues, only to die with four cards in hand. They should have played the cards they already had. If they only had lands, they should have taken a mulligan instead of keeping five lands and Eternal Witness.

@@nekrataali Right, but it seemed to be a reference to something that occurred and I didn't know about. Which it was (thanks Rhystic Buddy). I don't have a horse in this race, but given how LSV played this particular game (at 35:30 not using the artifact to draw a card when he spent 5 energy that turn, and then missing he could overpay on the counter to draw, which he wouldn't have had to do anyway if he just drew the first time around), it felt like there was plenty of loose play to go around in this match. I also think keeping lands + story circle and 1-2 other relevant cards is probably fine, especially in an early access event where you're trying to do sweet things. You get a few draws at some more early plays, you have another 2 besides story circle, and each land you don't need is essentially deduce with story circle. I do think it was an unfortunate comment by Jason to make, but I hope it doesn't get too raked through the coals for it. Magic players can be pretty vicious and my guess is Jason gets a lot of hate as-is for unnecessary reasons. Side note: I do find it really hard to use it/its pronouns. I've never had a problem with using they/them pronouns for folks who want that, but it/its just feels like I'm describing an object, not a person. I'm open to understanding it, though (and by it, I mean that pronoun usage as well as Jason, I suppose).

​@@nekrataali There are a couple of reasonable interpretations, but that's not one of them. Opponent's opener was a pretty clear keep with the saga on 2, pretty much regardless of the rest of their hand. And there weren't any signs from our perspective that the opponent was misplaying by cracking clues.

Probaly don’t have to tell you this but if im playing a deck with cards like Laelia I always take my hands off the mouse/keyboard at the start of the turn so I don’t play “too fast” on accident and look at my hand every single turn even if I know I don’t have her in hand😅 has improved my winrate by a lot
