Littlefinger is using Alayne's beauty and grace, let's call it glamor, to "charm, entrance, bewitch" all the knights of the Vale, and gain control over them. Just like what Night's King did "He brought her back to the Nightfort and proclaimed her a queen and himself her king, and with strange sorceries he bound his Sworn Brothers to his will. " So this goes well with how Sansa is going to turn the tables on Littlefinger and beat him in his own plans. I wonder who is going to play the part of the Last Hero. Is Sansa going to have another suitor? She has had four, and none of them were good enough for her, and these Last Hero type guys tend to be nicer.

I’ve always wondered if one of Petyr’s “loyal” men will favor Sansa enough to surprise him when she turns the table. My instinct says Lothor Brune, and personally I’d love to see him duel Lyn Corbray and earn that Valyrian sword.

IRL Littlefinger would easily become a politician/entrepreneur. He'd do stuff like get vital information say about a global pandemic on the rise then use that knowledge to game the stock market. He would behind the scenes reduce the effectiveness of the government while going to the people getting them worked up about how useless the government is. A few politicians IRL should be coming to mind. Littlefingers exist and they climb the ladder of chaos they create.

I don't know quite what it means but I've always been struck by how Lady Miranda lost her cloak, a symbol of getting married, on the way to a raised portcullis, a symbol that has been used for female sexuality when Daven says Gatehouse Amy "raises her portcullis for every knight" or something like that.

I doubt Peter plans on harming Harry anytime soon. He's a crucial piece of Peter's plans for the Veil and the North. "Jon Arryn's bannermen will never love me, nor our silly shaking Robert, but they will love their Young Falcon... and when they gather for his wedding... every knight in the Vale will pledge his sword to win you back your birthright." If Littlefinger needs Harry to lead the Knights of the Vale to war, he won't risk harming him till the war's won and Sansa is lady of Winterfell. Keep in mind he secretly cuckolded Jon Arryn for years before eliminating him. He probably wouldn't mind doing the same to Harry. So if Sansa turns on Littlefinger soon enough after Winterfell is won, Harry may actually end up outliving Littlefinger.

I think Sansa is starting to realise shes a woman and realise how women get by in her world. She’s starting to take Cersei’s advice and use her femininity and beauty to her own gain even if she’s only doing it subtlety and almost subconsciously at this point. She’s learning how to be a master manipulator and she has something Littlefinger and Varys dont have: a beautiful face and (in the future when she’s no longer in hiding) a highborn womb, both of which will be incredibly influential in the future power battle. Sansa is going to be one of if not the most eligible bachelorette besides maybe Dany and Arianne in the whole of Westeros and if she learns from Littlefinger and Cersei she’ll be a power house, no magical trees or dragons needed. She’ll be an entirely human driven badass. She’s the Elizabeth of York, the Isabella of France, the Elenor of Aquitaine. She’ll take a lot of people by surprise and/or their bollocks in the future

The foreshadowing for Sansa marrying a Targ is mainly based off of the champions in Lady Ashford's Tourney in the Hedge Knight. There were five champions: a Baratheon, a Tyrell, a Lannister, a Hardyng and finally Valarr Targaryen. Since Sansa has had a similar line of suitors, the idea is that her final suitor would be a Targaryen. I am tearing up just thinking of Prince Baelor, can't believe I finally reached the end of this crazy stream, also drunk. That is how this content should be consumed lol.

Sansa is obviously developing some political savvy but it seems a bit of a stretch to say that there is a 'dark edge' to her supporting Litttlefinger's plans when she literally has NO alternative atm. What could she possibly do at this point except go along with it? Hopefully the Royces are secretly plotting against LF and so maybe Miranda et al will help her out when the time comes to turn on him. I agree about the 'I'lll be all the spice you need' comment being OOC for Sansa-- BUT at the same time, it is kind of the perfect clumsy attempt at flirting for her! She has no clue how to flirt but LF has told her she has to, so she goes for it with the tackiest line lol. At least Harry sees that she's clever from the rest of it and appreciates that part of her. Maybe he won't be that bad? Maybe he'll end up helping her against LF? (wishful thinking probably, but I'm just dreaming that she'll have a quick break from terrible partners sometime soon!! LOVED this analysis of Sansa, she's always been a favorite, because I can relate to her experience (from pawn to player as you mentioned) I feel that what George is giving us Is the chance to really feel what the characters are feeling by making his characters so beautifully flawed, just like real people, like the people we know and love. We are so invested in Rob for example, knowing his history, knowing what it means to truly passionately love someone consequences be damned. All of that love and potential butchered like so much cattle because they were winning because they were good, honorable and lucky. The injustice of the red wedding had me crying and angry for a couple of weeks after reading. Lol. I can imagine George felt the same way! You can do this GRRM! Do you guys ever wonder if he's struggling with grief knowing that after all the decades, his story will end? His beloved story he has so carefully crafted his entire life's work? Hes a Vikings fan AND a DOOM fan? How could I not love this man.

I'm getting very interested in the idea of moons as symbols of pale imitators. This is based on looking for uses of the word "bright" in ACoK, when George theoretically was setting up the cloth/mummer's dragon to be a Brightflame. Fitting to that idea, it comes up a *lot* in relation to cloth, paint, and reflections. The cloth is obviously tied by the cloth dragon vision; THK repeatedly emphasizes the brightness of Aerion's painted flames, false flames that crack away under a true fight. The reflections part I'm more dubious on. At some point adjectives are just adjectives. But, it comes up a lot in relation to steel (like Bittersteel, steel-ing the throne) and water (like the dragonfly crossing the water at the end of THK, and the king across the water in TMK). The moon is also frequently described as bright in ACoK, and could fall under that reflection imagery, as it is merely a reflection of sunlight/the true flame. Like how the Brightflames/Blackfyres are pretender dragons, not truly fire made flesh. That's a long walk to say: What if Sweetrobin's bundle of WeirWalker symbolism, flight themes, and Moon imagery is setting him up as an equivalent imitation Bran? His Weirwood is dead, his dreams are drugged not magic, his home is in the Snow not the (hot) spring, his "flying" is falling while Bran's falling becomes "flying." Both sons of Tully, named for heroes of the past age. But Sweetrobin is the moon boy. And much like Moon Boy, his is a fool's retelling.

Littlefinger is not going to kill sweetrobbin, in order to have Sansa marry Harry. Without Sweetrobbin, littlefinger has no power in the Vale. Why would he want to off Sweetrobbin. There is 1 thing Littlefinger wants more than anything: Sansa. He's already kissed her, and early tried to get Cersie to approve marrying him to Sansa. He may be plotting to use Harry, as means to raise an army to take Winterfell for Sansa. But Harry won't live to keep anything. Littlefinger is the ultimate revenge arc. The Starks took the women he loved from him. So he'll not only take Sansa (who he has projected his childhood love for Catelyn onto), but he'll take the Stark's place. He'll have his women, and Winterfell!

To be honest I think GRRM should have stuck with the time skip. It's really clear that a lot of the main characters on the younger side had their stories heavily structured to work with the time skip and without it, GRRM has created a mountain of extra work to crowbar these plotlines back into something that can work. - Arya's supposed to not only become a skilled assassins but grow to like 15 years old to it's a believable that by being skilled and quick she could do some serious damage in a 1v1 as well as do things behind the scenes. - Sansa is supposed to use her sexuality as a weapon to manipulate the men around her in order to protect herself from further abuse, taking notes from Cersei, Margarey and Baelish. - Rickon needs to not be 6 years old in order to do... anything significant really. - Sam has to study to earn his Maester's chain. It would be a great match for his innate intellect and drastically increase his agency when interacting with plotlines outside the Wall, and by conducting research to fight the Others. Now he simply can't forge his chain. That arc is scrapped. - Dany has no time to actually stabilise Slaver's Bay. In order to have any chance of merging her plotlines with those of mainland Westeros, she HAS to ditch Mereen fast. So... she shows up, frees all the slaves, then leaves their cities practically in ruins because she starts a war she doesn't have time to finish? Short of leaving the Unsullied behind there is NOTHING she can do to maintain her hold on Mereen if she sails for Westeros. And I simply don't see how she can bring the Dothraki to heel quickly in a way that isn't contrived. I'm pretty sure I could find even more storylines that are sabotaged by not doing the time skip. Not to mention a lot of other storylines are clearly built to stop for a while, or stabilise during the time skip. Jaime's brought the skirmishing and sieges in the Riverlands mostly to a close. Jon's body is probably going to be put in the ice cells, as has been foreshadowed, so his body will be preserved, just as his spirit is being preserved in Ghost. Again I could go on. To be honest I wouldn't blame him if he retconned a few pieces of DoD and released a new edition of it with some of the events rearranged to work with the time skip, and slowed down the oncoming Winter a bit to prevent Northern factions from being stuck in position by extreme snows once the time skip finishes. In my opinion GRRM intended for Stannis to remain at the Nightfort for the time skip before marching.

Interesting that Little Finger is called The Lord Protector. That was Oliver Cromwell’s title.

There's a *lot* of red faces this chapter, and focus on Sansa's face overall. We hear about Uther Shett's angry pimples and his face reddening, Harry's face goes red twice during the dance, after her run Sansa is fixated on whether her face is red. Then she gives a face of stone. It's like her face is going from blood to stone. That could have a few ties or parallels. Sansa herself is meant to have turned from blushing maid to Stone, Alayne. Her mother was specifically bloodied at the neck, and then became Stoneheart. I could see this tying to various alleged blood bathers: Dany, Danelle Lothston the original magic bat lady of the Trident, Serenei & Shiera (herself possibly the red-masked Quaithe). There's maaaaybe something in there with the Mountain? A mountain person, whose blood turns to black through his death and rebirth. Also possibly some tie there between SanSa and Sand Snakes? It would not be the former's first connection to venomous snakes, nor the latter's first connection to Gregor. (Aaand just as I was writing this I noticed it's another "red to black" thing as well. So maybe the connective tissue is still to come, via fAegon?)

The Eyrie might be conquered. No one can get in, so no one can get out. It could be conquered from within,by betrayal. Even the Targaryens didn't conquer it with firce. Rgaents negotiated with the mom woman to woman, while the little king flew her dragon once aroubd the Eyrie and landed as a Lord. Parallels to Lysa and Sweet robin there. And no bloodshed. So it could ebd up conquered from within or by dragin and without a big fight. Maybe by poison, negotiation or blackmail.

I reckon at some point once they're married, Harry is going to try and put Sansa in her place by threatening to do something horrific to her. And then I reckon Sansa's brain is going to go full Cersei and say "Never again", and find some way to kill him in a similar way to Cersei killing Robert. And if their marriage is consummated, then even if Sansa takes Moon Tea to prevent a child she'll have what many perceive to be the rightful claim on the Vale, the North and possibly even the Riverlands if she leans into being a spitting image of Catelyn by revealing her true hair colour. It will be fitting if Young Griff manages to force Cersei out of King's Landing and on the way back to Casterly Rock she hears Sansa has resurfaced with two kingdoms behind her and a third on the way.
