Team for me moving forward (and this is a must).. needs to include Palmer & Mainoo, both of which have changed the squad immensely, Palmer was incredible and offers us that attacking threat that we don’t have without him!, as too does Mainoo!, I would consider playing Saka at LB as it offers us more up top and I think he does a job there too!. At the end of the day we need players who look forward and move forward, Trippier does not progress the play at all!.

Got up at 2am here in Aus and was yelling at the screen after 20 minutes, by the time Bellingham scored I was happy we weren't going to have to watch any more of this shit and was fantasising I was the FA guy calling Southgate and sacking him. He would have been gone by the time Bellingham scored if it were me, his mobile would have rung at 90 minutes. An unlikely win, and a fortunate one at that but we’ll take it, but all of that anxiety was bought about by Southgate’s stubbornness. Southgate’s subs made a massive improvement in the last game yet failed to feature against Slovakia until far too late in the game, had we started with the 11 we finished with then that would of been a completely different game, Jude saved him and us all!

Following England’s poor form going into the tournament and Southgate’s well known tactical incompetence in crucial late stage knockout games, I was ‘numb’ from the very beginning; indeed the last 10 minutes of this game was all I had watched of England in the entire tournament so far. Feeling vindicated by my extreme apathy and being sure of Southgate’s reservation tonight, I was, like Justin numb when that equaliser, our only shot on target, went in. The upside is that I shall be totally relaxed on Saturday against Switzerland (I’ll watch that one), expecting more dross, playing out of form players with no impactful substitutions resulting in a probable defeat against a team that beat Italy and nearly beat Germany. But hey England appear to be the jammiest side in the tournament so it’s worth watching from this stage. And if we lose? Yep, we get that resignation. Win win really. 😂

Justin echoed every thought and feeling I have about England. Southgate has ruined international football for me as well and I was numb and emotionless for both goals. The only feeling I have is fury at Southgate’s incompetence. Luckiest England manager ever with the soft draws he constantly gets in tournaments.
