So...we booked the car in and it needed a lot more doing than expected! It is all part of the fun of RR (specifically L322) ownership so it didn't come as a huge surprise. I will continue to film my experiences with this car and the pros and cons of ownership so please subscribe if you are new around here!

Hi Lucy....we own a Discovery 3 2006.....we looked for the best serviced one we could find previously 2 owners one of which was a doctor....no expense spared. It was top money for its age 3 years ago, since then in servicing and general repairs etc we are up to 4k and this is the best i could find having been a mechanic all of my life......its just a Range Rover/Land Rover thing.....they are a cracking motor and we use ours all the time....but big bills are the norm.... Great videos by the way 👍

Hi Lucy, I’ve just discovered your channel, and from the number of views you are getting I can see that it’s a great success already. I think the reasons for your success are that you are very engaging to watch and listen to, also you seem genuinely very interested in who your viewers are, and their opinions on what you should do. I think it is rather endearing that you’re not a ‘know it all’ motoring correspondent, but someone just enjoying their car, warts and all. For some reason I like the way you refer to it as your car, as opposed to our car, it somehow makes the video more personal.

I agree with you. When listening to the other channels it gets a bit tiresome. However when she talks about it it comes from such a innocent place. Plus her dialogue is much more interesting and that keeps me engaged.

Hi Lucy love your vids on the L322, I got one on eBay last yr the guy had it up for 2k with gearbox issues, it had transmission failsafe on the display. If you ever get that msg, lift up the leather gearshift gaiter cover and you will see a little black lever, you will need to put the shift into N then pull it up which should cure the problem. As for the battery I just fitted a brand new one this weekend as my whole suspension had dropped to bumpstops ie access mode. If your battery drops lower than 12v all the fault codes start appearing such as air susp inactive HDC inactive and abs fault. These are all linked to low battery voltage. Once battery was changed it was like a different car. One bit of advice is join forums such as landyzone as lots of good free advice. Also invest in an icarsoft diagnostic tool specific to LR, mines just arrived you plug into the obd just under the dash to the right of the steering wheel these tools are invaluable. Enjoy your rangey.

Hi from Australia! I’ve got a 2011 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography. Bought it 2 yrs ago after lots of research and searching. Same colour as yours. I’m up to 258,000 kms. Had the start button issue when I first bought it. Now fixed. Fixed a few regular issues like lower ball joints, new alternator and new cooling pipes but otherwise been fine. I had a 2013 RRS 5.0 V8 Supercharged before this (and when I lived in the US) which was just amazing. But very happy with the luxury of the L322. Autobiography even has a leather headliner!

I’m in the northeast part of USA and have owned 3 l322s still have number 3. It’s a 2007 4.2 supercharged V8! First 2 were both 2005s with 4.4 V8. I’ve owned other brands that have a better reliability reputation and have had more problems with them rather than all 3 of my l322s. I got into an accident with my first l322 and there was more damage to what I hit than the Range Rover! (I drove away) After that day I vowed that I’d only drive an l322 Range Rover! They’re absolute tanks with a body on frame and aluminum/alloy construction it’ll will keep you and the family safe and will not rust away. Fyi, my 2007 has 170,000 miles running strong with no warning lights! And my first 2005s transmission was never serviced and finally gave up on live after 240,000 miles. I would have rebuilt that trans if the cost to do so wasn’t the same price as my second 2005 L322. GREAT VEHICLES! They like the pit bulls of the automotive world (misunderstood) you hear terrible things about them till you get one of you’re own fall in love with it. As long as it taken care of and respected it’ll do the same in return! Just last night I was driving home from work and a Nissan Rogue was broke down on the side of the highway. I keep a tow rope in the boot at all times tied vehicles together and the Rover and I pulled them off the highway to safety! They are absolutely go anywhere do anything recover anyone machines and the look 🔥doing it! I Swear by these mechanical masterpieces!

Hi, Lucy. I love the L322s, tried several out, it's like riding around on your living room sofa. Looking to purchase one that has been well looked after. What's interesting is that people love these so much they don't seem to care about the maintenance that's required or the cost. I've always liked hand washing my own vehicles, the effort is worth it.

Also I agree with you on the unconditional love , I never really mind spending money on mine , 9 out of 10 times I take it to a car wash because it’s quick and easy , once a year I get a mobile valet company to clean it in and out which is always so good , my side runners I couldn’t live without I use it every single time I get into the car , I also drive it to my home in Spain every year and keep it there for 6 weeks and drive it back again 3000k there and back plus 1000 miles whilst I’m there

Hello. I now own a L405 a 3 year old, the 3 ltr as I like the fuel economy plus the lower tax. I get 44 mpg on a long drive, mostly motorway which is amazing for such a huge car. Before that I had L322 diesel and before that a L322 petrol. To be honest I should have stuck with the petrol as the fuel saving moving to the diesel was minimal. I kept the 3ltr BMW engined RR for 6 years and kept a box full or receipts. One day I made the mistake of adding up what it cost me over 6 years of ownership, just servicing and repairs. It was in excess of £40k!!! It was probably the most unreliable car I have ever owned but it was also the one I was in love with. The L405 is probably the best car in the world, I love mine but the L322 is the best Range Rover. I miss my old one so much I’m trying to convince my wife that I should buy another L322 as a doggy car so that we can keep the new one clean. Wish me luck with that. Put simply the L322 is the best Range Rover and the L405 is the best car! Enjoying the channel thank you.

I saw your first video as I was hunting for a L322 for myself, now an owner, and watching because yours is engaging content, and I'm intrigued to see another owner's experience. Thankfully, mine is a third car (because I need 3 cars, right?), and so can be gradually attended to as I go. My first job is sorting out the utterly borked lcd display that I have below my speedo - which is a common problem on the early cars like mine. Bought all the bits and going to do it this week, along with a led bulb swap whilst I'm pulling bits apart.

Bought an L322 (2011 S/C) back in October. It was well looked after, but it was at the milage a lot of things needed doing. Timing chains (replaced everything with this), front shocks, suspension pump. Seems to be good now, but spent about as much on servicing as I paid for the car…feels almost new now though.

Since I was 8 in 2003 I always loved this body style Range Rover. Growing up I was/stillnam a big BMW fan(I work for a BMW dealer). I originally wanted a 7 series, but I figured if I was going to pay for a high-maintenance, luxury, gas-guzzling vehicle - then I wanted it to be a jack of all trades. So finding out that BMW was responsible for the inception of the L322 was what drew me to it. It truly checks all of the boxes for what I was looking for in a car - stylish, comfortable, fast (for what is essentially the size of a tahoe), and an acceptable amount of creature comforts to make me happy. I went down quite a youtube/forums journey learning about the L322 and all of its pros and cons. Despite what everyone said about the reliability online - I started simply walking up to people that owned them and asking them how their ownership experience has been. To which everyone single person replied that it was great, they love the car, and all they do is just take care of the car and complete all of the routine services. Fast forward to March of 2020 and I purchased a 2012 Range Rover Autobiography with 68k miles and currently have 85k miles - it has been an absolute gem considering what all can be wrong with these cars. My ownership costs of standard maintenance and a couple repairs totals out around 4-5k USD in the time that I have owned it. I know that may seem like a lot to some people, But the value that the Rover brings to my life outweighs the financial cost.....so far. Congrats on your Rover! Let me know if you have any questions, I'm happy to help.

Hi Lucy, I have a 2011 L320 Range Rover Sport. Bought it three and a half years ago at 98000 miles. Very lucky to find it; one previous owner, Stornoway Grey with Ivory Interior in excellent condition. Needed new wishbones and replaced the cam and serpentine belt as soon as I got it. Have recently had a full gear box, transfer box and differential oil change. The latest expense was for a new aircon pump which is not that easy to get to. This is by far my favourite car. Re car wash; I do it myself. I also drive a Jeep Cherokee Sport; my previous main vehicle which I use for things I wouldn't want to use the Range Rover for.

And finally, High Peak guy’s words of wisdom stuck with me too after watching/reading a million people moaning about the cost of L322s - Buy what you like; fix it when it breaks. It’s a good looking car and it suits you. Don’t think I’d be so interested in your Tesla channel if u had one!

Hi Lucy, I am the proud owner of 2015 range rover sport which I've had from new + a 2010 defender 90 tdci that was 12 months old when I bought it. Previous to that I had 05 discovery 3 & a 2010 discovery 4 both from new. So far, non of these JLR products have given me any problems. I live in North Devon, and retired now. Good luck with your range rover.

Hi Lucy. Keep up the interesting content. I bought a 2015 Range Rover Sport 11 months and had my first service yesterday, which cost me £413 and another £1100 of work needed, but hoping my warranty covers that one. I clean mine myself, as I had a cermaic coating put on it last October and the checmicals the hand car washes use can damage it. I have also upgraded the info-tainment system and the A/C unit, so now a nice touchscreen. I keep wondering whetehr to fit side stepa to mine or not, can't decide. done a few other external upgrades to modernise it a bit, black lettering, black vents, new tail light strip and swiping wing mirror indicators. Good luck with the project. Powerful UK is a great site for parts and videos of how to. Steve

Hi Lucy. Loving the videos so far and absolutely love your range rover. I have always wanted one but unfortunately, my budget would not allow. Maybe one day but they so good and age so well. Currently own a Ford kuga 2014 and I love the seating position of being higher. Visibility is so much better :). Will carry on following and enjoying enjoying videos. I follow quite a few car channels tbh. Especially high peak autos :)

I proudly own an ‘11 RR HSE Lux. I’m in the US, so I have the 5.0 gas motor. In my experience that is a very good report you received. For people considering buying one should get that inspection done before they buy it. Be courageous and try to do much of the routine service work yourself. You might actually find oil changes fun. You stick a hose in the top of the filler tube and suck out the old oil. Thanks for the video!

Hi lucy. I lusted after a Range Rover but because of their reputation for reliability chickened out and bought a Lexus RX suv instead. Like you I also love the high driving position. After having 20 plus cars over many years I do not know if I could go back to a car again. Other drivers I feel give us tank drivers more respect on the road. On a personal note I enjoy the fun descriptive way you update us of your latest adventures.

Hi Lucy. Good videos. :) I drive a LR3 (Disco3 with 4.4 V8 petrol). I also drive a Series III 109, and have 4 more that is not on the road. I'm currently restoring my first LR, which is a classic RR from 1984. I watch your channel because you are lot more good looking than all the lads on youtube. :D

Came across your channel as a you tube recommendation as I watch a lot of car channels. Had owned a Range Rover Sport and a Discovery 4 previously in my 40s as a family man but the kids grow up and move on so didn’t need anything as big. Lovely cars if you get a good one which I was fairly lucky with , nothing major but even then I still got niggles that every visit was a minimum of £200. If you buy one go into ownership with your eyes open , put at least £150 a month to one side for repairs and if at the end of your ownership you’ve not spent it then you still have the money. The brand for me now as lost its soul now with the Discovery 4 being the last of what I would class as a proper Land Rover/Range Rover. The new Defender is a lovely looking vehicle but sells to a completely different type of customer now to the previous one. Will subscribe and watch with interest how you get on.

From New Hampshire. My wife and I recently acquired a 2011 Range Rover Sport. Recently replaced brakes front and back. Had back to black sprayed on frame and metal surfaces, food grade mineral oil. All this ran me $1998.00 US dollars. We love our Range Rover, always wanted one!

I will be buying either a 3.6 or 4.4, can’t decide on which… I realise problems and what to look for etc but still try to educate myself with videos from real owners. Nothing has put me off so far as actual owners haven’t said anything yet I couldn’t sort myself. Sooo will be taking the plunge! 😊. Loved your journey with this car and subbed.

Hi , I’m watching the video as the principal of such a vehicle appeals to me, but fascinating to me how many people buy a love these vehicles accepting the fact that they cost a fortune to keep on the road and a constant struggle with reliability issues, I know folk who buy these new and they spend so much time back at dealerships making things work properly, or securing parts that rattle etc…! Hope you have a long happy ownership with yours… 😊

Landy fan from birth, In 30s. Driven em in the Army, and privately have owned a classic, defender 90 and now a L320 Sport. Just spent about 6500AUD getting mine all up to scratch but we'll worth it. Here to watch to see the trials and tribulations others go through, and as you mentioned...being nosy. I too did it all the essentials and have save a few jobs for next service, ie; new better than factory compressor. Next is detail and ceramic coat to keep the paint protection.

Found this channel by the KZfaq algorithms, LR ownership. Owned a 3.9 efi V8 D1 since new in 98, still starts on the button, drinks fuel like an alcoholic on speed, 340,000 km’s, there’s been major work, rebuilt both axles & transfer case due to the bearings going past there designed life. Auto box every two years new fluid & filter, one set of head gaskets, plus the regular 5,000km oil changes. Other that that just keeps on going.

Hi, Keep it going, you’re doing well! Suggest you focus on the mechanical repairs first which is cash back when you sell it. Cosmetics can wait, bit if any, i do agree with you that the side steps should come off, bin them, then some decent rubber.

I bought a used 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged with the 5.0 jaguar engine with 97K miles in Feb’2021. Now I have about 118k and the power train has been solid. The repairs I have made have been more of a service that is due, it is pricey since the parts aren’t cheap. But it has been a solid SUV. I would recommend if you are not already to take it to an good and reliable independent mechanic to save some money.

Last month I rented my first 2010 Range Rover L322 for a quick road trip and fell in love. I’m 2 meters tall and love how high the Range Rover sits and also how smooth the ride was. I also feel in love with all the tactical buttons it has for the radio and such. I’m a high tech guy but am starting to get annoyed at how every product is removing real buttons for touch screens where the L322 is the opposite. There’s even two buttons for the glove box! I just purchased my own 2012 Range Rover L322 with 90K miles which should arrive in a few days. So, I’m watching your channel to pick up tips and tricks as well as just I never get tired of seeing the L322. It’s just so gorgeous!

They are wonderful. Having done over 130k miles in my 2010 L322, 100k of them by me, I would say, just keep up with the maintenance at a good specialist and look after the interior with leather cleaner/conditioner. Mine still looks and feels pretty much as it did ten years ago. Having it rustproofed too, as it's a keeper.

We've got the 5.0L Supercharged version of yours - same colour and interior. Absolutely love it, but have decided a combination of Land Rover servicing costs, petrol costs and wanting an electric car mean we are part exchanging it for a Tesla Model Y. Ours has the deployable side-steps which are great and always get comments!

Hi Lucy, loving the videos on the L322. I’ve had 2 L322s, a TD6 and TDV8, two Freelander 1s, a Freelander 2, had a Discovery 3 manual (money pit!) and currently have a Land Rover 90, Land Rover 110 V8 county, a Discovery 3 (high mileage bargain) and an 88” race Land Rover. On yours, I’d advise you do the gearbox megaflush without delay. Tyres - I had General Grabber AT3s on both my L322s and could not fault them and there was no real increase in road noise. Alway wash my own cars - I don’t trust car wash folk not to scratch them..
