you boil water to kill bacteria, not to remove salt hence lud is correct. youd boil something like river water to make sure its safe to drink but with salt water youd have to boil it and collect the steam to make sure it doesnt contain, yknow salt

I think the issue was that Lud was the only person on earth who thought by boiling it they DIDN'T mean then drinking the condensed steam. Like, his example was evaporation and collecting condensation from the vapor. They were just saying boil instead of evaporation, not boil instead of condensation, obviously. Y'all insane.

i broke my immersion by looking up the 'abandoned city' it's actually just a few old hotels with a town like RIGHT next it the google streetview car drove down there and the beach is packed with people swimming lol

And the funny thing is... its not all that abandoned, if you look on maps you can see plenty of tourists and locals just... hang out having a nice day. mr beast just bought the area out by... idk talking with the croatian government I guess. @@wansper9297 Yeah, I mean it's still abandoned, it's just not a city. Just a couple of hotels and stuff. Real abandoned cities are basically radioactive so it wouldn't really be possible to film there, so they got the next best thing - an abandoned block near a city lol.

He's right you can't simply boil salt water and drink it. You need to boil it with something like a tarp on top to collect the steam which cools back into water without the salt.
