Also, just because something is unlikely, it doesn't mean it doesn't happen, idiot. Especially when we're talking about Oda who loves to give twists. Garp has never called Dragon his son, only referred to him as Luffy's father.

Its not that OP ever gets worse, but this is peak OP. The story telling, action, emotions, and pacing of this arc are all perfect. The CP9 twist, the declaration of war, the merry's funeral, the gear introductions.... It takes a concept and tells the story well and succinctly. Peak OP. 10/10 Saga.

@@Izaz-ke7dt i would say this is peak, but marineford is where one piece became one of the best. the characters in that arc were all done exactly as they should be, including what kind of brother ace is, and im not even talking about his sacrafice, im talking about his backstory and everything. also garp, sengekou, and marco were great.

So happy to see this drop. Great reaction. Water 7, Enies Lobby, and Post-Enies Lobby are a perfect trio of arcs that give you just enough of everything you could possibly want from this story, and still leave you with a bundle of questions unanswered. What a ride this is.

you'd never believe how much i was in tears the first time i saw coby again in this part. i saw him first when started reading op in junior high, and got to this part when i entered college. talk about crazy, all the memories drifted by for years about this one particular character forgetting about him. dang one piece and them brilliant callbacks. now i have a baby boy, the journey's just getting better and better each day, each week! It's really enjoyable to see people starting to get into one piece, the only reason im here!

Luffy's mom could be anyone if Oda wants to dive into that. I mean she could even be Garp's daughter and Dragon could have taken her surname at marriage cuz in Japanese culture the family name can be either the woman's or the man's depending on which family is more prominent. In the 'meme-time' fans have developed weird theories that Crocodile is Luffy's mom but the reason for the meme is sort of a character spoiler so don't google that until 4 or 5 arcs later.

There IS a theory that has been posed about Luffy's dad marrying who was supposedly Garp's daughter and into the Monkey family as opposed to simply being Garp's son. Either way, we all STILL don't know, not even on Chapter 1044.

To add onto that theory, Rocks D. Xebec might actually be Monkey D. Dragon's father which would parallel Ace because of the fact that both of his parents are a part of the D. Clan. Also you know how Oda said that if Luffy was from a real country it would be Brazil, well there's a Brazilian pirate called Rock Braziliano who also disappeared and nobody knew what happened to him which is pretty similar to what happens with Rocks D. Xebec. There's also a lot more reasons as to why Dragon is Xebec's son besides both look pretty similar, but I suck at explaining things so there are theory videos that do a much better explanation.

It has been confirmed by Oda that the mother character of Luffy or an important character in the One Piece series will not be introduced in this manga because according to Oda himself that the figure of a mother is very contrary to an adventure, a mother will only be an obstacle for people to go on adventures. Therefore Oda is not interested in introducing Luffy's mother.

Funny thing Garp use that hat/mask until now, to hide his identity to the reader. As he appears in the one-shot on Romance Drawn , using the same design but being a Pirate(only a with change of clothes) and the role he have in the one-shot was given to Shanks.

The WG/Navy destroy islands because one of their people might be able to read Ponoglyphs. Families are guilty by association. Luffy declares war on the WG, Humiliates them multiple times and escapes. Garp casually strolls up not to capture his Grandson Luffy but so his 2 men can meet him. Oh, his son is also the most wanted man in the world. The amount of D Garp has can not be understated. And by D I mean will and not something else.

I know your already into the timeskip right now, but if you never figured it out: the difference between the Emperors and Dragon is that he wants to replace the corrupted World Government and Emperors are pirates and do whatever the fuck they want.
