I’m guessing the way to unlock it probably has the creativity of Luffy’s 2nd and 3rd Gear where the rubber was used to accelerate blood flow. I know that Buggy is immune to all swords for one, but I can’t think of anything else.

I just loved Buggy and Mr. 3 reactions when they learned that Dragon is Luffy's dad. The looks on their faces were priceless. Almost as if they were regretting ever going up against Luffy. Thinking that if anything happened to Luffy, Dragon will have hunted them down for hurting his son. We haven't even seen Dragon have a full on fight yet and his name alone is scary enough.

One thing you missed during the reaction: Smoker didn't just "feel" Boa's Haki,it seems like she was able to channel it in other to hit Smoker,despite his Logia powers...something that surprises Tashigi as well,given that she's never seen anyone do that before.

Luffy at this point is considered a rookie because he is a relatively new pirate and not because of his bounty. At this point, he was just a couple months in while the others in the worst generation like law and kidd have been sailing for about 2 years. Funny how we the viewers often forget about this fact.

Everyone considers him a rookie because it has been like a bit over a month since he got his first bounty. Not much time has past in the one piece world since they first entered the grand line. Which is why all the people with bounties over 100,000,000 were considered the super-rookies. Because they are rookies who are incredibly powerful. Also I just want to say that Luffy has probably the lowest bounty out of the important figures in this battles i.e Whitebeard and his commanders, Ivankov, the captains from the new world and even a good chunk of the prisoners that work for Buggy. Aside from Buggy, Mr.3, Mr.1, the warlords (because their bounties are frozen), and the random foot soldiers, luffy has the lowest bounty. For some context on the gap between Luffy and the big name pirates (this is not spoilers becuase this was never actually revealed in the anime) Ace's bounty is 550,000,000

Second that without a gamechanger like Haki , Luffy and many are powerless against Logia in most cases . Also it would be unrealistic to have him front and center as an antagonist , without a real reason , besides "he is a pirate and he got away" . So yeah having guys like Coby take his role and place makes more sense . He could still be propped and buffed up in the future anyway

Speaking in 3rd person is actually pretty common in japan, especially in formal/business situations because "watashi" isn't used that much and "ore" or "boku" are considered to be either rude or childish and are reserved for more casual talk with friends. It's all about having very strict vertical hierarchy and knowing when to humble yourself in front of the opponent.

HUGE W for Smoker here! My man hunted Luffy around the world and the split second he realises how close he is and that Luffy is alone right now, he takes his shot without hesitation and pins the "upcoming Rookie" down. The only thing he couldnt know, he couldnt calculate, the one thing that stopped One Piece from ending here, was the wildcard, the loveblind Boa Hancock. Just like Dragon, she came to c***block. So till its proven otherwise, im certain Luffy cant beat Smoker in a 1v1.
