Hi Dr Grande. Just to give you a few updates on the luke Mitchell case. Those essays about killing a girl in the woods do exist and lukes legal team has them. The police said that the essay "killing a girl in the woods" did not exist.. But the guy wrote 2 essays about killing a girl in the woods and they are actually called "no remorse". Those were hidden from the defence. Also..lukes legal team have Jodi's brothers medical records. Jodi's brother had a history of being psychotic and attacking Jodi, his mother and his other sister. His mental health team advised that he not be returned to the family home but he was anyway. He attacked Jodi 5 weeks before she was killed Please look into these updates. The police have also been caught prematurely destroying the crime scene evidence...knowing that lukes legal team have been fighting to get them retested with modern technology There is so much more that has came to light since this video

Really? - Those essay, no 1 which was about drugs, so good that the tutor asked MK to do a follow up makes no 2. Hardly indicative of something really sinister from the monster SF's paints. That no tutor showed concern around that student when that murder took place. Goodness me, another monster created here, seriously? - Next thing you will be saying is the police and doctors swept him under the carpet because they were all members of the Jones family - The man says every Tom, Dick and Harry is a killer, does it make it true dear? Of course not - It is a tactic to gain support, from very naive, little upstairs, unsuspecting people to spout back out with additives! - Well done!

Local to me. There is a LOT wrong in this case. Other people who very definitely SHOULD have been suspects, including a close friend who was found to have Jodie's blood on them, and another guy who had the opportunity to do it and who admitted a few days later, to a friend, that he had "done something really bad". Mitchell would have had to walk home after the crime, a fair distance on a busy, sunny, evening, covered in blood. Nobody saw that. There are lots of problems with this conviction. Sadly, most of it is not covered by most press coverage.

@@roxannemoser Actually, most satanism has nearly nothing to do with christianity or a belief in the existence of christ at all. Very few sects of Satanism are even theistic, and from what i can tell those that are are exceedingly small. Neither Laveyan Satanism nor any of the similar organizations springing up after its dissolution (and eventual revival) hold any belief in god or satan. Satan is used as a symbol for an ideology rooted not in theology, but in philosophy. I cannot readily confirm this, but i remember in the past hearing that the majority of self-proclaimed satanists also identify as atheists, with most of the rest following some form or another of paganism. EDIT: Well, maybe they have SOMETHING to do with Christianity, in the sense that they are against the upholding of Christian ideals in modern society. But not beyond that.

Dr. Grande, Luke Mitchell had arranged to meet Jodi Jones at the end of the pathway where he was seen waiting for her. That is the reason he was near the scene of the crime. Other people were known to have been on that pathway and nearer the scene of the crime, and two others who knew her were actually at the scene of the crime itself at around the time when the police state that the murder took place. Regarding the brother who was watching TV. He was doing this in his bedroom upstairs. It is quite feasible that he was not aware of someone else in the house. Luke's mother stated that Luke was in the house when she got home and he had been preparing a meal, as usual. The police and you seem to be assuming that Luke's mother lied, rather than accepting her as a more reliable alibi witness than a teenage boy who is engrossed in TV in his bedroom. There is no doubt that the police targeted Luke Mitchell and failed to properly investigate the crime. The investigation was a fiasco and a disgrace. Whether or not Luke Mitchell killed Jodi Jones, he certainly did not get a fair trial. A missing jacket is not evidence of a crime, and neither is an empty knife sheath, whose missing knife which was seemingly too short to have inflicted the wounds. Proximity to a murder scene is not evidence of involvement in a crime, particularly when other people also known to the victim were even closer. The police stated that the crime was not a sexually motivated crime despite Jodi being left naked, and the DNA of a man known to Jodi being found on her clothing. I believe that some was semen. These are facts which the police chose to ignore or find explanations for, rather than investigate the murder properly. They requested a profile from the FBI and chose to conceal the FBI report. It was redacted in the evidence given to the defence for the trial. I think I am correct in stating that in a recent interview one of the FBI team who reviewed all the evidence from the crime scene has publically stated that he and his team believe that Luke Mitchell is innocent. I seriously question your judgement in being prepared to offer an opinion based on such flimsy understanding of this case.

Hi, much of what you write is factually correct. However, the “pornography” that Luke’s brother was “watching” was only a pop up. He had actually been researching stuff about cars! When the brother was being questioned the police used the “Reid Technique” whereby they confuse the person to such a degree that they become mixed up and admit to something which is false.

Not sure if the KZfaq comments section is the right place to suggest a video but let's hope that you'll see this. Last year, I got a book as a Christmas present. It's a book about people in rock music who have died way too young. One of the people they mention in this book is a guy who called himself "Dead". He was the singer of a band called "Mayhem". He killed himself when he was only 22 years old but besides how he died, I think that there's a lot of interesting facts about how he lived. The guy was obscessed with death. He did things like burying his clothes, let them rot for a while and then wear them to feel like a corpse. He also carried a dead crow around in a plastic bag and before a show, he would open the bag and inhale the air in the bag. Before killing himself, he wrote a note, starting with "Sorry about the blood...". He had slashed his wrists, his arms and cut his throat from ear to ear but he was still alive. That's when he wrote the note, then he grabbed a shotgun and shot himself in the head. Shortly afterwards, the guitar player of the band found him but instead of calling the cops, he left the house, went to a store to buy a disposable camera, went back to the house, re-arranged some items around his dead friend and took pictures of his dead body. You can see one of these pictures, it was used (uncensored) as the front cover of one of the band's albums. He also kept pieces of his skull and then sent some of them to his friends as a present. So yeah, I think that there's a lot to talk about here and I would love to hear what you think about this! Could you check this out and then tell us your opinion about this young man? That would be great!! Thanks a lot!! Sergio

With hindsight, not proven should have been the obvious verdict in this case but the whole narrative and the way the investigation and trial was conducted framed Luke from day 1 to the neglect of all other lines of enquiry. So the police especially needed this verdict to cover themselves and there was massive pressure accordingly . It's unlikely now that we'll ever know exactly what happened. The whole thing is a mess.

Dr. Grande, your book was fascinating and disturbing; it was an excellent read! I've read hundreds of true crime books, but you took on the most notorious serial killers in a manner I've rarely seen. Pun intended, but you didn't just speculate about the mental illnesses or personality disorders that those killers may have had. You looked at their histories from their births, first crimes, first murders, their lifestyles at the times their murders were committed (e.g, married, children, how they earned their livings, etc.). The perspective that you introduced provided the link that's been missing in nearly all of the books and stories I've read. The book about the Green River Killer, (to which you mentioned in your book), by the famous true crime author was an especially long and detailed one; however, as good and excellently researched as it was, I felt that it was somehow incomplete. You provided the missing link in succinct, easy to grasp and fluid prose. With each killers' backgrounds revealed, it answers some very complex questions about their behaviors; however, as you pointed out one has no way of understanding completely why they kill and how they kill. There have been and are many people who'd had similar issues and events occurring in their formative years but went on to be successful, productive members of society. TO ALL GrandeFam: His book is really good and at times, I found myself sitting at the edge of my seat turning pages as fast as I could to learn why these evil people committed unspeakable crimes. Edited for grammar.

Ive been looking into this case for the last week. I'll concede him being the the area at the time (he was meeting her), yes his mother made a huge mistake by lying about him being in the house. All the statements about finding the body were made by Jodi's family and all the statements change a month later (all the statements changed exactly the same). Jodi's cousins bike was seen where her body was found at very close to her time of death. As to your point about a safe statement because they wouldn't let him out anyway. I believe if Luke had admitted it he would be out by now.

Actually no - He was sentenced to a minimum tariff of 20yrs before being eligible to even apply for parole, this is not spent until after the date of his detainment which is April 2024. I don't believe he has had much choice around admitting guilt, he is not the only person in the equation. Should he admit guilt whilst his mother is alive this would without doubt result in her arrest? The statements from Jodi's family were never in harmony with LM's in the first instance. The change was never around where LM headed to which was the V break, it was around who was leading who to that break. LM at no point gave an account in line with theirs, his was always that "they had been some distance past not even 20yards" Clarified to being exactly 43ft and directly "parallel" to where the body lay in the woods - LM was lying. Sticking out like a sore thumb, three people first statement, to that V break in the wall from the east, one person quite some distance past there. To the change after they had been taken separately back to the path, which was the same, to the V break whilst approaching from the east, LM controlling his dog on that short lead attached to a harness. - Important? Yes it is important, for the very reason for LM lying was to try and say why he knew exactly where to go re his dog, and the claim of alerting directly over the wall from the body. Did not happen. - People are being spun a yarn, it was never about dog and wall, it was where on that path. No dog, none of them where LM attempted to place them = No dog alerting to any body, ever. The whole thing is a scam, placing focus elsewhere to deflect from LM's clear special knowledge - 10:40pm tells that girls mother he had not seen her. Within 10mins of this he instantly initiated an actual physical search directly to the area, within 10mins again he is physically upon that path. First 20mins, not seen her, search of that path, to being on that path. Holding back for members of Jodi's family, some 22mins later, around 11:22pm they caught sight of each other by torchlight. The actual search time was approx 6min, directly to the wall at the first break because he had a "hunch" nothing to do with any dog, diverting from the path and introducing the notion of the woodland as viable for his something to be found. Straight to the V break with the dog, it could have been doing summersaults here, makes not a blind bit of difference, it was not alerting to any body in those woods. Up and over and around 10-20secs, 10 paces to his left and he shouts out. 11:34pm placed that call to 999 - A total time frame of 54mins fully led by LM ----------- What can only be described as a rapid series of events. Any change that trio made to their statement had absolutely no bearing on what LM was claiming, at all. The very reason that wall was built, the very reason a Jury were taken to the locus first, shown video footage, photographs, the time scale and the clear sequence of events = Guilty verdict. The best search teams in the world with the best dogs could not have achieved what LM claimed to do, fuelled with lies.

The alibi issue - imagine your a young teenage lad and you're asked do you masturbate to porn while other people are in the house. It's easy to see how as a young naive lad the police were able to pressure his brother into revoking his statement. Note that he never once said that Luke was not in the house - only that he didn't see him because he wouldn't masturbate if he knew he was in the house. That's a key difference. On another note - you know who else's statements changed drastically...every single other person in the search party that found Jodi's body. More on that later... The jacket - there's been no hard evidence presented that the jacket existed before the murder. The police weren't even searching for a "missing jacket" until later on. There is a lot of strength in the argument that the association with Luke Mitchell in the jacket (which was bought after the murder) was due to the vast number of pictures in the media of Luke after the murder. I'll show you how that could be linked... The eye witnesses are connected to the victims family. That is a key point when you consider the chain of events. On the night Jodi's body was found Luke was with Jodi's sister, her sisters boyfriend and her gran. Original statements indicate that Luke's dog (who had been trained to track) picked up and signalled at a bit of the wall. Luke then climbed over the infamous V gap in the wall and walked up to where the dog had signalled and found the body. Shouted back to the others who all reported in their statements that he seemed shocked and terrified.... Police arrived at the scene, within an hour the rest of the search party had been sent home together, with all of their clothes and possessions including phones. Luke Mitchell was taken to the police station for swabbing, hair samples and his clothes and phone taken, (note that his hair hadn't been washed). They focused on him from the get go. Then the media started with the hysteria stories about him being a spawn of satan and all the usual tabloid nonsense. It's easy to see how the statements would change from initially saying the dog alerted and Luke was shocked and terrified...to Luke knew exactly where to go and showed no emotion. The media influence altered the families recollection of events. Not just that but it also altered eye witness recollections too. Imagine a young local girl who you know is murdered, you want to help find who did it, then you have a vague recollection of seeing somebody at the entrance of the path, then you speak to the family and it becomes clear from them that the police are focusing their investigation on Luke Mitchell...his picture has been all over the news in a green parka jacket..."oh you know, I think the person I seen MIGHT have been wearing a green parka jacket" - coaching from police a while later your statement is that you seen two people very closely matching these descriptions, suddenly they have to place Luke Mitchell in a green parka jacket - but guess what they can't find it or any evidence it was burned. The knife sheath - obviously a very weird thing to do. But he was a weird kid. Here's what we are being asked to believe on that though: we are being asked to believe that this 14 year old in the space of 45 mins brutally murdered his girlfriend almost decapitating her - then managed to leave no forensic evidence tying himself to the scene or Jodi's murder to him. Leaving very few eye witnesses, none of whom could give a strong testimony. But also the same guy just decided to incriminate himself on a knife sheath and leave it in his house for the police to find. To believe both of those things together is a movie plot, not reality. Is it not more realistic that a naive 14 year old oddball carved that into the knife sheath in a tribute thinking there was no way he was actually on the hook for something he didn't do? This all snowballed from police incompetency from the start. They destroyed any chance of building a real case onanybody. Then they were too close to the family and the media and allowed that to completely taint an ongoing investigation. When a case relies on purely circumstantial evidence you need to look at how that evidence came to be and in this case the evidence is all tainted. The fact they only focused on Luke Mitchell is another red flag - if you only focus on one suspect and gather circumstantial evidence you are ignoring any circumstantial evidence that points elsewhere. The only thing that would have diverted them away from Luke would have been hard forensic evidence and they completed botched that up so it was never going to happen. There are a number of persons of interest in this case that have never faced proper scrutiny because from the get go the police thought they had their man and they had tunnel vision. Their incompetence caused others to follow that path and it all snowballed from there. Here's a sobering thought for you on this: if Luke Mitchell was not persecuted by the police and media because he was an oddball mosher/goth type and instead he was persecuted because of his race, he would have been out a long time ago.

Some fact in video not correct or missed out . The other students was not in school with Jodi or Luke he attended the local collègue so was in his twenties. A lead never followed up by police There was DNA found at the scenes from Jodi sisters boyfriend on her t-shirt and bra why was he never a suspect ? Also DNA in a used condom found 16m away from the body that was not Luke Mitchell . That man was identified 3 years later why was he not a suspect he claimed to have been there at 8pm that evening on a summer night in Scotland how could he not have seen the body. Luke Mitchell’s knife was with the police and it was not much bigger than a pen knife . The wounds on Jodi could not have been inflicted with this knife. Luke bought the Marlyn Mason CD 2 days after murder not before . Everyone in the search party for Jodi claimed in their first statement to Police that Luke dog alerted to the wall next to Jodi’s body, but in court they all changed that to Luke himself found the body . Luke Mitchell and his Mother have both passed Lie Detector tests. There are so many holes in the conviction . Search Dr Sandra Lean for the facts on this case .

Dr grande coming for Ellen and Lyndsay Lohan. I'm living for it! Have you considered drama/commentary 😄 At the same time.. are people STILL coming for manson? This brings me back to 99 when I was a teen in high school. If you know the reference then you know. Manson has nothing to do with this

It doesn't make sense to me that intelligent people actually believe an artist (in this case Marilyn Manson) could be in any way responsible for another's criminal activity. It's safe to say Manson combines grotesque imagery with disturbing, dark, lyrical themes, yes. Being a member of a society that values our first Amendment of Free Speech, I think it the responsibility of the listener (or their guardian) to turn the channel, forbid the book, etc. rather than censor the artist.... Dark, disturbing lyrical themes are nothing new. We do not blame HP Lovecraft , Anne Rice, or Stephen King ----all masters of horror literature----for inspiring crimes. Likewise, we do not blame horror film makers (think of the pseudo-BDSM torture implied) in such "classics" as Saw, The Human Centipede, or Texas Chainsaw Masacre. We also don't look to other forms of art (think of the paintings of Goya, for example) or the Nihilism of Nietsche to explain the emptiness/boredom/senselessness of homicides in ^thrill killings," Finally, if it WERE true that Marilyn Manson had this power to influence homicidal maniacal behavior, given that his albums have sold upwards of 50 million, we should have seen a rampage of slaughter greater than the one here (though every life lost to such tragedy is immeasurably sad, to be certain). In short, Dr. Grande, as a long-time viewer, I am disappointed in your relatively recent dapplings into true crime, and further, by the sensationalism of the title of this video which appeals to our collective lower sense of rationality. Please do what you do best: which is unlocking the mystery of mental afflictions of everyday people without diagnosing anyone. Thanks!

It's 2021 and some people (not you Dr. Grande) still think that music interprets are somehow responsible for the behavior of other people. Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Rammstein, MM, Rotting Christ, etc. Nonsense. It's still only a form of art and how to express your inner feelings. It's a part of being free to speak. The only people responsible for their own (re)actions are the people themselves.

Ur facts are wrong. I am the same age as Luke and I also used to phone the speaking clock as it was called. He bought something 2 days after the murder that came with a Manson free gift. He wasn’t a Manson fan, Also he was texting Jodies mum as her phone was broken. The witness also in court recanted her statement and the best one also he was with his pals also at the time. U forgot to mention he had his German shepherd who was training to be a tracking dog and he met her family then put his dog into tracker mode and the dog led him too her.her sisters boyfriends dna was also found on her body who with Luke discovered her body. The discarded condom found nearby with unknown dna. , her cousin and his friend seen at the exact location she was found at her estimated time of death that all her family have changed their statements. Man not matching Luke’s description seen following her? Last but not least someone had came foward and admitted to this crime and police discarded them and said they had mental health issues. Ur gonna annoy a lot of Scottish people with this video as currently there is protests in both Edinburgh and Glasgow and a huge free Luke Mitchell movement. Please anyone who watches this put it off and instead the three anything goes with James English on the Luke Mitchell case.

Strange how the dog never alerted him on the way up the path? It waited til he met up with the rest of them.he wanted to see their reaction when they discovered jodi.he wanted them to see his 'work'.the little deviant is so twisted so disturbed its truly sickening.

Get those sponsors, Dr Grande!! I can't believe they still have "dial-a-clock" in Ireland! I spent a large portion of my teenage years calling "dial-a-clock" waiting for my boyfriend to call so my mom wouldn't hear the phone ring (call waiting). Oh, the 80s!!!

I think Luke is defo innocent, He passed a polygraph, whomever did this had a lot of hate in them. As for the brother watching pawn, the house may have been empty when he started watching it, but i*m sure once a young chap gets engrossed he would be oblivious to anything else going on. I think it was the chap with the scratches on his face, he lived by the field where she was found so he could easily have got home for clean up undetected.

Doctor grande - how about the life and personality of Billy Joel? Or Elton John? They both have rather harrowing stories. Billy Joel struggles with substances, depression, suicide attempts during his career. It would be an interesting video I think. Maybe the Beatles too, The Rolling Stones - different kind of analysis would be warranted for how they affected the zeitgeist of their time and tapped into a counterculture which led to a lot of psychedelic use (represented in the music) and normalized that sort of behavior throughout the 60s and 70s. I’d love to hear your thoughts on psychiatrist guided trips, the history of psychedelics and their use, up until and including today with cannabis, and how more broadly these figures played into a societal expectation to be using drugs and how mental health and personality factors played into both the artists themselves, and the audience to whom they were speaking. What I just wrote is pretty convoluted, but hopefully you get what I’m saying. I think it would be a neat video. Thanks again doctor grande !

Hi Dr. Grande: Thanks for this video. Was wondering if you could provide your insight on the Lori Vallow case in Idaho. Yesterday, a Stay was placed on her court hearing due to 'Incompetence' via report and findings by a 'licensed mental health psychologist.' Almost certainly, the State of Idaho will order her to be evaluated by a court-appointed psychiatrist. What are your thoughts about the findings of a 'licensed psychologist' vs. a 'licensed psychiatrist' and how the difference of findings may apply in this case. Also, what are the signs of a malingerer or someone feigning their mental health?

Absolutely agree w/ the crying need for Dr. Grande to take a look at the case of Lori Vallow up in ID. She and her defence team are obviously angling for an NGRI, which I personally don't buy. Your analysis of the horrific crimes Lori Vallow Et Vir are accused of would be so enlightening.

I don't see how having a fascination with death correlates in any way with an interest in Marilyn Manson music... those are the kind of amalgams that should never belong in a murder case.
