My wife (46), has stage 4 kidney cancer. The Doctors, team, removed her left kidney, spleen, and 40% pancreas. Three months later cancer has spread to her lungs. Visiting Oncologist December 31/18 to view the plan. She is scared, sad, angry all in one. She runs 5 miles day, does weights, weighs 120lbs never smoked in her life. She did everything by the book. God Bless my wife.

My mum lasted 4weeks after being diagnosed with lung cancer. It was the biggest shock ever. 5 yrs in and it seems like it was yesterday coming out of that consultants room after my mums diagnosis. Nobody spoke as we were in shock. My mum never moaned once and prepared her own death, wrote all her loved ones letters. Sadly it wasn’t the cancer that killed her but a blood clot in her lung. RIP mum.

I am reading so much comment and crying for the lost of love one. I was diagnosed this Aug 2022 with Stage 4 lung Cancer. I lost 50lbs in matter of weeks. Had to be wheel in a wheel chair because I was too tired to walk. I was coughing blood and had difficulty breathing. Today I'm walking have energy and was able to go back to work. My Oncologist took too long to start treatment and I did my own research. I came about an article written by a Chinese Oncologist that uses three simple drugs. One was an immune therapy drug, the other was a salt and the third was Ivermectin. My oncologist wants to kick me out from his clinic for self medicate but Ivermectin saved my life. I only did one rounds of chemo but it did more harm to me . I'm alive today because of Ivermectin.

I may not have Lung Cancer, but I am diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma and Stage 4 Triple Negative Breast cancer. At the end of 2016 I had an extremely large tumor in my mediastinum and 2 others in that area along with a large tumor in my sternum which fractured it, and many tumors in my lungs, along with others throughout my nodes and body. The mediastinal tumor was growing into my heart and I had fluid in my lungs and around my heart. I was so unable to breath, and had hospice care. I was mostly sleeping, and was in lot of pain. I couldn't lay down due to the tumor putting pressure on my lungs and basically suffocating me. Before my diagnosis, I remember telling my doctor that I kept waking up feeling like I was suffocating and was unable to breath. I was told that it was just acid re-flux. I was given very little time to live. I could barely have a conversation due to not being able to breath. And my voice was very hoarse, and I was coughing up blood. I also lost lots of weight, had no appetite, (not on chemo or meds, so it was due to cancer itself). And when I did eat, the food would get stuck, and cause pain when going down, due to the pressure from the mediatinal tumor. Being a young (42 at the time), and a single mother, I was very scared, although I knew where I was going when I died. My fear for for the actual act of death, and for my kids. Thank God, I was finally given the correct diagnosis, after being misdiagnosed for almost a year. I was put on chemo at that time, that didnt work. But when given the proper diagnosis, I was put on a brand new imunotherapy combo, that saved my life. It kept me stable for almost 2 yrs. This April new tumors grew in my chest wall, which ended up being my breast cancer again. This time it was stage 4 and mutated to triple negative. I do fear getting this bad again. But I am very thankful for the 2 extra years I was given. Please, those of you who know someone with cancer, whether terminal or not, don't leave them in fear. this is the time they need support the most. Many of my friends thought I was ok, because I had hair, and only went out when I was doing well. But not all treatments cause hairloss, and just becasue someone looks like they are doing well, or is young, does not mean they are. And they still need you.

My husband died from pulmonary fibrosis, where the lungs form scar tissue and eventually they cannot get oxygen. We had hospice nurses come to the home and I don’t know what I would have done without them as I was absolutely panicked. They had to keep him sedated towards the end as he could not get enough oxygen and the body goes into panic mode. He wasn’t sedated to the point that he couldn’t communicate and he spent his last morning with one of my daughters reading the Bible to him, which he enjoyed. God’s kingdom will put an end to this suffering and death, Revelation 21: 3 & 4.

my mom passed away from lung cancer last month. she's been fighting the cancer for 9 months, almost fully cured on medication until the cancer cell mutated and returned. since she had NSCLC with EGFR gene mutations, it's a common pattern. and i suggest to make her live normal, happy & healthy (such as b17 and veg juices) if she's still quite healthy to do it. and remind her (you too) to dont be scared and afraid of death. with that, higher chance that people can still survive and cancer free. because if you start doing medication there's zero guarantee that cancer will be cured, only chance. it will prolong your life but the chance to be cured is small since the cancer cell is evolving. but there's always chances, even miracle is a chance.

He fall a sleep for few seconds but woke back up saying that his sides hurts. When night came he started to talk a lot even trough his sleep and he asked me to get him into better position, last words he said were ''Now i feel good, it does not hurt anymore'' and his breathing turned into gasping... And as i hold his hands his breathing stopped and fluids started dripping from his mouth and he died. The death came so suddenly that i was not prepared for it because 2 days before his death i took him outside and he was having good time...

Don't beat yourself up about smoking. Most people start when they are too young to think about the future past tomorrow. Then they become addicted and it is very very hard to stop. You don't deserve to suffer. Take things one day at a time. I hope you get to feeling better. Hugs.

I am so frustrated, disappointed, have n number of questions to God, society, the money minting hospitals and doctors. Day in and day out I am going through research papers, YT videos in a hope that I can find a way. I love him a lot. My heart breaks. Plz somebody help get me a consultation with a genuine doc.

I just found out today that a good old friend of mine has stage 4 lung cancer. 3 days ago she called me and asked me to not drop by because she wasn't feeling good. The next day I visited her in the hospital after she called me. She thought she had pneumonia. Today I was told to get the family together. That she doesn't have much time. 3 days ago she was driving and today she doesn't know who's in the room with her because of the drugs I guess. Crazy life we live

I've smoked for over 30 years, and find quitting very hard. I average around 10 cigarettes a day. I've tried 5 times now. It's like being an alcoholic. Once you quit, the craving remains, in some folk forever more. In the US they seem to measure the probabilty of getting LC in 'pack years' Smoking the equivalent of a pack a day for 30 years, increases ones chances of getting LC quite dramatically. Your body changes after the age of fifty and becomes less able to compensate for the damaging effects of your lifestyle and habits, thus your chances of developing any type of cancer increase after 50 anyway. There are obvious exceptions to any rule, though. A work colleague died of LC at 39. He was a smoker, but apparently his mother died of LC at 50, and had never smoked. My step dads first wife also died of LC at 39, and smoked less than 10 a day, and of course everyone has a story of some great aunt who lived to 102, smoked 40 a day, drank two bottles of whiskey a week, and lived on bacon. Life is something of a lottery.

It's mostly genetic but if there is any cancer in the family tree then smoking drastically increases the odds. The problem with smoking is even if the lung cancer doesn't get you the COPD will. My father was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, but his COPD was already so severe that it's going to kill him before the cancer does. My friends Grandmother lived to 98 years and smoked daily...but she never inhaled. Her generation just thought it was fashionable to smoke but didn't like to inhale as it's bad for you.

Two of my mum's siblings, who live in England were diagnosed with cancer just over a month ago; my uncle with a tumour on his liver & my aunt in her 70's, with COPD now has lung cancer. One of my mum's other sisters just told my mum today that my aunt's heart was too weak for her to get chemo & at one point she complained of sharp pain in her heart/chest. They've given her penicillin for an infection, but we feel it's just a placebo & won't make much difference. They think she could pass any time now; & that it'll probably be before my mum can get over in time to see her (from Northern Ireland to England). My mum (aka: my #1 carer) has to make preparations for me to be cared for, as I'm physically disabled & also too ill to be left alone; unless it's a brief trip to the nearest shop & back, once I'm settled. She can't really afford to go any sooner than the date she planned to leave, as we barely scrape by with benefits. That's why my heart is just breaking for my mum right now... ✨💔✨

That's correct. During my hospital rotation we had an 8 year old child dying of lung cancer. My grandmother and her son smoked like 2 packs a day but lived long lives. Yes. My grandfather smoke cigar all his life, and he lives until age 85. But he struggled with his lung and got TB and pneumonia at the end of his life. He died alone at sanatorium because he was isolated due to his serious sickness. Smokers chance to get cancer is about 50%, but the problem is, the passive smokers who inhale the smoke will get the other 50% chance, that's something not fair for the non smokers, especially now a day with many different smokes around us.

I’m sorry but you are wrong, IDECLARE. Granted, we are all going to die. Nobody is denying that. Taking care of yourself gives you quality of life. It’s the difference between spending your later years enjoying life or just existing between medical appointments and spending your later years in a waiting room. Of course there are always exceptions but why take the risk? If you take care of your body, most likely your body will take care of you. I want to spend my later years on a yacht...loving and enjoying life...not in a hospital waiting for an operation that could have been avoided if only I had taken better care of myself. The body is a temple and a gift from God. Give it the respect it deserves.

Fortunately for us, when our beloved mother died of old age, (95) she was able to pass, peacefully at home. With family keeping her safe, comfortable and calm. After being refused any help from Medicaid, we were able to turn their stupid, exclusionary rules into a blessing for our family. Which speaks well of us, not THEM. We closed ranks and bonded as a loving unit, so mother would never have to be in a hospital, on 'life support' or drugged through her final days. I am however, appalled by the health insurance industry as a whole. Its capricious, heartless decision making regarding 'who qualifies for reimbursed care and who doesn't'. Luckily after one or two tussles we told Medicaid to go stuff it. For cancer patients though, the road is even rockier. There must be a rethink, a total revamp of health care in this country. It infuriates me that people with life threatening illnesses must often be forced to jump through hoops to get any coverage at all. Disgusting.

I've died once already after my colon ruptured from Ulcerative Colitis, and colon cancer (they found the cancer after cutting me open to save my life). I'm 48, since I was 20, I've had over 3 dozen brutal surgeries, leaving me with only 5% of my entire GI tract left. I've died nearly twice more during surgery as my kidneys failed.....yet I'm still alive despite being given only a 10% chance.......and yes, I smoke, I have since I was 14, but luckily, I have zero repository problems. I'm well aware of the dangers, but given that I don't drink, do any street drugs, and my life has been turned up side down...well, frankly, smoking is the only thing I get to truly enjoy. I can barely eat anything, so I can't go out to eat, but when I smoke, it relaxes me and comforts me. So despite the risk, I'm sticking with my smoking. I do exercise a lot, perhaps that's why my lungs are perfectly strong, and I have never had a smokers cough.....but my life has been a disaster, so despite what smoking can do, I'll be damned if I'm forced to stop the one thing left in my life which I truly enjoy, and I don't think anybody understands that, they just tell me I'm crazy. Until you've walked a mile in my shoes, pls don't comment with negativity.

smoking actually helps ulcerative colitis, I found out after asking one of my gastroenterologists if me smoking would affect my uc flare ups (like it does with crohns disease). They don't know why exactly but several studies have shown a decrease in frequency and severity of flares in patients who smoke cigarettes. The same wasn't true for the ones who used the vaping pens or other nicotine products though so they know it's not from the stimulant. I'm betting it's that smoking keeps us fucking calm and stress is a flare trigger for most lol I dunno but either way I don't care. I'm with you tj, I want to keep the one vice I have left. And now we have a medical excuse so it works great.

Georgina was only 39 years old and she died about 4 months ago. I hope she is watching over her little girl and husband Mark left behind. It's going to be hard for them but in time they'll cope. I will pray for your Grandmother, God bless...

Husband had pancoast tumor staged 3, down to 116 lb.s (he is 6'2") when it was found. All Dr's expected him to die. He had radiation, chemo and an right upper lobectomy and more chemo. Hes still here and still smoking, that was 11 years ago. Theres always hope. Good, positive attitude helps. My grandmother had lung cancer, had her right lung removed and lived another 20-30 years smoking 3 packs a day. You never know when its your time.

It's mostly genetic those are just things that trigger it. Actual cancer causing chemicals are highly regulated to the point you need a special license to even use them, and only in specific ways under controlled conditions. Truth is radiation from the sun over time triggers it. This is why doctors investigate heavily when they have a cancer patient who's family has no history of cancer. It generally means at some point in that persons life they came into contact with a actual cancer causing agent. Whenever those are found they are banned or highly regulated if they're something there is no alternative for. Example the factory where I work uses such a chemical in their lab, but it requires a vent hood with a super filter, the person has to wear a mask, etc. So if your mother died of it then instead of being paranoid about the entire planet and air, etc. You should just get checked for it every 6 months, and try to eat things that reduce free radicals that can trigger it.

This may sound counter-intuitive, but sometimes patients treated for cancer experience much more agony and suffering than those who are not. All the horrors of cancer: hair loss, nausea etc are side effects of treatments for cancer: chemotherapy and radiation. Not by cancer itself. If, for example, a patient has and incurable cancer that would kill him/her at stage one is treated, this patient will have to go through pain of more advanced stages of cancer + side effects of chemo and radiation.

yes and it's my belief that about 80% of the time, cancer patients die from the so called treatments that are used on them, intended to kill the cancer cells. My dad died 6 months after his diagnosis with a tumor on his voice box, from the burns inside and outside his throat. The burns damaged the inside of his esophagus so much (it looked horrible too on the outside, huge burns on his whole neck) that he started bleeding in there & there was nothing they could do. His tumor was as big as my pinky tip, the oncologist had told me. So at 72, I wish he'd chosen to not do the chemo or radiation because there's' no telling how long he would've lived until that little tumor grew to be any real danger to his life.Myself, nope, at 70, 68 or heck, even right now at 61 I think I'd rather bet on the human body's ability to fight whatever, before I'd think the cure to a tumor was to destroy my immune system (and other organs, other parts, not to mention all of the last parts of my life) being ruined by them making me deathly ill with their "cures' with the vomiting, nauseousness, skin being fried, burned etc.with chemo or radiation. I do not trust treatments that are making a lot of people very rich.

Well she (Georgina)first got breast cancer three years ago and got treatment and got the all clear. Then 8 months ago she then got lung cancer and was told there was nothing they could do. She fought hard to stay alive as they have a three 3 year baby girl, very sad indeed. I'm heartbroken and distraught over what happened. I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother Chris, I wish her all the best and I hope she wins the fight. It ain't easy.

Ive quited 7 days ago. Also the question is Battle with quitting smoking, or Battle Lungcancer or very many other diseases you can get from smoking. The decision is not hard to me. I rather sometimes having a craving then i continue wasting money smell bad being a slave and ruining my body. Smoking doesnt ever have solved any problems so fuck it. And even the cravings will fade out really its far better to quit.

Yes while there are some chemicals that can actually give a person cancer most things we know as cancer causing actually are just triggers and require some underlying genetic cancer in the family. Example my father never worried because there was only a history of breast cancer, but even then a % of the males of that family will get lung cancer. It doesn't matter if they smoke, don't smoke, live in a city, are healthy. Also generally speaking if it's one of the known cancer causing agents which in the US are extremely regulated and most are banned except with specific licenses to use it under specific conditions, then the cancer will be rapid and fatal with little warning. Some of these chemicals take decades to cause cancer example gas used to have a chemical in it that did this but only for people who worked around it constantly and breathed the fumes for decades. A giant class action lawsuit is part of the reason we started putting Ethanol in gas.
