14 күн бұрынThe largest caverns in eastern America . Discovered on Aug 13, 1878 and registered Natural Landmark in 1974. The 1 hour tour covers 1 mile and a quarter. Scientists estimate the caverns to be about 450 million years old. It’s a solution cave.

Thank you for your beautiful presentation of Luray Caverns! My beloved mother took us there many decades ago. I think it was my first cavern adventure. My last visit was in the late 1990's, however since childhood I have been utterly enamored with caverns and their mystery and have visited many. I even mention them in my storybook featured on SPOTIFY, The Adventures of Prissy and Missy (tm) "Beyond Earth's Sky to Mars". Thank you again!
