I have this bike but having it less than a month I can't say the negatives yet. It moves pretty fast going through my neighborhood going back and forth to the corner store. Car's pulling in and out through the side streets I don't think it would be safe if it went any faster. I recommend this bike.

While my town is pretty mild for crime, we seem to have an oddly high amount of bike theft. I'd be scared to take this out in public to say like go to the store. I'd need to have my eyes on it at all times. Not worth the anxiety.

I saw a video a couple months ago of an HVAC guy in London who got an ebike during lockdown, and now he uses it for 95% of his business (with careful planning and scheduling of course). Carries a ladder and everything, these things are pretty cool!

I have retired my bikes. Having blood problems from Diabetes, High Blood, MAC Disease, both lower back problems 2 pins and 6 screws, ankle that's fused and pined, wrist problems ( had surgery on) shoulder problems, neck problems from looking down all the time plus at 71 I don't like seeing nothing but the ground or worry about balance or it's issues. So I went to a Trike a Catrike Dumont and love it. May go to electric assisted Triking.

My wife bought a Specialized e-bike that is very smooth & comfortable. We are in our 70's & ride rails to trails only, so for me to keep up I bought an older used I-Zip with lead acid batteries. I'm happy with that as I have very little invested & my heart can handle it.

I got a Himiway that's very similar. If you go online you can find how to tweak the controller through hidden menus to increase the top speed. I haven't done that because it's kind of scary even capped at 20 (or 22) MPH.

That is a bafang design, they do a lot of white label designs where the company picks parts off the shelf and company does choose some of the final assembly components. That said not a bad price for this model compared to other brands and the parts they choose looks good.

Mid 40 miles if you are peddeling. Half that on throttle alone.

I'd love to have a e-bike for fair weather commutes, but I won't share roads lanes with cars on anything with 2 wheels. Between smartphones and all touchscreen displays, people are driving distracted more than ever, and I've seen too many accidents involving motorcycles and bicycles to put my life in their hands like that. Maybe someday my city will create dedicated bike lanes in the roads, or have enough running/biking trails to make it easy to get around the city. But until then I can't do it.

Is at only a 310 pound capacity though where does the hind quarter of an elk you are bringing out fit? 😁 I know hunters are starting to use these E bikes to get quiet access farther down trails and forest service roads that are normally blocked off to motorized equipment. How well do you think a bike like this would last on a Montana forest road Jeff, say with moderate use?

All you have to do to go faster is take the speed sensor off it's super simple you just unplug it or cut the wire you can go as fast as you want if you have any mechanical skills I would go on eBay by a kit on eBay and a battery it will only cost you $650 and just put it on your existing bike it's literally the same kit this guy has built into his bike I have an e-bike that I have over $10,000 in It Go 65 miles an hour it's a great bike for what I use it for there's no reason to buy a built ebike and there's no reason to stay within their parameters for how fast you can go just just unplug or cut the sensor on your controller box if you don't know which one it is all you have to do is look at the manual or look at your controller and then look online which wire is which the easiest way is to just unplug them and one at a time

Why don't we call these mopeds? That's exactly what they are. Is it so they have bike access to bike paths that gas mopeds don't? Don't get me wrong, ebikes rock, I just think this coming debate is amusing.

Nothing coming about that debate it's hear right now and cities across the US are in a lose lose battle, mostly about bike path access rules. That said, totally a moped.

At least in my state, the difference is that mopeds are limited to 28mph throttle only, and ebikes are limited to 20mph throttle only. You can also buy some electric mopeds that are usually limited to around 30mph (when I asked one manufacturer about if I could drop their 32mph limit down to 28 in the software because of my state laws, the response was that they don't have an official top speed in the documentation and just don't go over 28 on the street lol).

Wow I guess this is old news then! I really like seeing them on the bike paths. Gets a lot more people out who normally wouldn't. Too bad most my child trailer towing days are behind me. They are quiet and if the speed is reasonable then it's a great way to leverage bike paths!

@@denoftools right? I've wondered that ever since I started to ride bikes as a kid!! Seems like a completely illogical and useless thing to designate a "boy" and "girl" bike anyway.

Someone will have to explain why there was ever a "boys" versus "girls" style of bike to begin with before I'll listen to "PC" complaints about calling them something other than that.

@@thomashajicek2747 I believe it was carried over from the victorian era... Where there was various scientific/medical theories and moral issues regarding how to ride bikes and even horses... Also the lower bar allowed women wearing dresses to more easily mount the bike

@@xephael3485 correct it was because of the girls dresses from back in the day. As for why the difference at all, it’s because the “boys” bikes are a stronger design… the “girls” design was a bit weaker, but it was all about the skirts and modesty
