Special. I had heard of Lydford Gorge but never visited. I do a lot of watercoloured drawings in my spare time and moving water is the most difficult challenge to get to look right. Really look forward to making this a trip once we emerge from the latest lockdown. Hopefully before spring is too much advanced so there is plenty of water and early spring plants are dominant.

Wow, incredible scenes! Thanks for this cool video Laura, it's been the decisive factor in my decision to go there this weekend for my 4th swim of the year! Have you swam there since? The Devil's Cauldron is a cold water swimmer's dream!

One advantage of visiting when the weather is awful is that you had the magical place to yourself! Is it privately owned / National Trust? (that would explain why you had to hold back from taking a dip!)

Hi Peter yes it is national trust, lovely place to visit

Great Video that's shows a true reflection of this magnificent part of Dartmoor. I have just realised that we met you at the foot of the Whitelady fall on that bleak day. However l do think the weather adds that extra wildness to your video.

lauragriffithsoutdoors Thanks for reply. I have looked at some of your other videos and must say they are great. We stayed at a house at the end of the field behind Hawkers Hut about 6 years ago. I have a web site just for fun where l upload a few photos (www.nonsuchphotos.co.uk) and a few videos to KZfaq some time ago. Enjoy your travels and keep filming.

Can you swim there? Would be nice if you could

Unfortunately not, I think national trust would have a fit if you did, there is swim spots close by
