As a new subscriber, I have been so inspired by your posts Lydia, specifically your more current minimal, quiet luxury style! Since recently turning 50, I have been re-evaluating my wardrobe, and consciously choosing pieces that don’t scream trend, while still maintaining a fresh and elegant esthetic for this new era of 50’s womanhood! Your style ( while you’re significantly younger ) is one that I believe promotes aging with grace, & a timeless elegance. I’m definitely ordering that book. I live in London and I have absolutely no friends, I’ve always struggled to connect, and even when I do I’ve found that what I’m doing is adapting or changing myself to suit other people’s expectations or needs of me. I’ve lately seen myself as secluded, separate, different, I envy those who are naturally liked, and I was worried that I was unlikeable. It’s really comforting to know that although I’m watching you from afar, there is someone out there who does still struggle with those insecurities! I normally use books as a means to escape, so I only usually read fiction but I’m definitely giving it a go! Off topic but your wedding outfit was 👌🏼 and Ali looked amazing in your previous video!

Focus on doing things that make you happy. Join group activities to connect with other people. Smile to others when they make an eye contact with you. You will be surprise how many people you meet. Im certain you will have new friends 💖

I feel the same, sadly I'm from Finland so can't connect... Sometimes it's really hard to meet new people, if you are moving to new place and don't know no one. Even if you feel that you are liked and beeing a good person in your "early life", it hits hard when you struggle to find new friends. (sorry for possible mistakes in english). But, I find comfort that even some prisoners and narcistics find company, so maybe I will do find some normal lovely people 😄

Lydia I wanted to let you know that because of you I started running outdoors in my neighborhood this summer and I cannot explain the level of happiness it gives me to see improvement in my stamina and actually see how much I am improving day by day. not to mention how good it is for me mentally to be outside running and just enjoying the weather where I live. Sorry, but there is no need to exagurate. Its impressive to have 1M subscribers, but if you look at number of views per vlog not every, nor does majority of them are being viewed by "hundredS thousands". It is common knowledge many never unsubscribe even though they stop watching. These kind of comments with exaguration how "blind following". And no, not everyone is jelous. Please understand we all have eyes and know fellow humans, and many can detect foes and fakes let alone those whose heads got affected by "new money" wealth.

Love you, Lydia. You give me so much inspo. Another woman I love, who has legions of haters, is Martha Stewart. I never understood the hate she generated from my girlfriends. They said she is mean, bossy, and gives people unrealistic expectations of how women should "be". However, come to find out, she has many loyal employees and staff who have been with her for years. She's mentored many to success on their own. I think some do not want to be compared, but that is their own insecurities. Keep doing what you do naturally. You're awesome!

Ive got to an age where i dont care if someone doesnt like me. I used get upset when some of the girls at work would ignore me or talk about me, but an older lady said they are not worth losing sleep over and she was right, but it took me a few years to do this . Lydia you have over 1 million subscribers so that says it all. You have an understanding husband and your fur babies, a good family and friends so dont read the negatives cos there is thousands of positives. Im so glad you still use your by Terry cream that is one of your original beauty products

Great vlog Lydia. You never fail to provide us with full on content. I’m right there with you when you say Ali is so handy. My husband was an electrician before doing the job he now does but he’s a very handy man. He’s always telling me bulbs grow and lamps glow. It can save you a small fortune. It’s great when you can just ask to get a job done and not have to book someone. 👍🥰🥰🥰

Lydia absolutely love this weeks vlog. It has taken me years to accept that I will never be everyone’s cup of tea. However I can safely say I am 100% obsessed with your vlogs!! I do have one question though. What is going on with Ali? He doesn’t seem himself in your recent videos and he hasn’t posted for a while. We miss him.

Hi Lydia, I just wanted to share this with you my partner is also very handy around the house he can do most things. My dad always told me growing up never marry a man who can’t do anything around the house or you will struggle all your life & now I know exactly what he meant as he was incredibly handy.
