I was just diagnosed as well and am 38 with 2 little ones. The first couple of months were so emotional. The more I’m learning about it I’m not so scared. Just more proactive about taking care of myself and maintaining preventive exams. 💗 good luck on your journey

Dr. Follows, you are a blessing to CLL patients! I was diagnosed last December and did develop pain (spleen) at first. After starting a regimen with Imbruvica, I am normal and within a few weeks of taking Imbruvica, I noted less weakness, etc. Yes, I still get tired easily, but it seems that when I walk as part of my exercise regime, this weakness doesn't really affect my regime. Your talk was really helpful because it was simple, easy-to-understand, and especially designed for the non-medical people with the disease. So many of the lectures on KZfaq are designed for doctors and nurses and are barely understood by non-medical leukemia patients. Bless you!

Really helpful for me to understand it! Thanks a lot, Dr. Follows! You helped a medical science student like me a lot!

Don't forget you'll have to understand the patients too, not only the mechanics of their illness!

Hello, we would suggest having another chat with your doctor about this - as we are not medically trained ourselves, and cannot direct you to a doctor unfortunately. I do hope you will feel able to reach out to them soon, and we send our best wishes.

My father is having these symptoms, but doctors have not started any treatment..

We're sorry to learn that your father is experiencing symptoms that you're concerned about and can appreciate this is likely a worrying time. The symptoms linked to lymphoma, are more commonly associated to other less serious conditions, or happening for reasons that aren't anything to worry about. This being said though, it is important to get symptoms checked out by a doctor, who can help and advise, so we would suggest your father double checks with his doctor when possible. We send our best wishes to you, and to your father, and we hope a doctors appointment can be arranged, so any concerns are chatted through.

"It's just something that is there and you have to come to terms with and then life carries on... ." Really? Really? Really? This doctor doesn't understand what it means to have CLL!
