For us Filipinas, it's a SHAME to ask from a groom (and/or his family) for anything like "dowry" especially in form of "money" for the marriage because for us, it sounds like SELLING our dignity as a woman. But we find it rightful for the man to cover the expenses of the marriage ceremony to make us feel valued and special (as woman). Filipino parents want their grownup (legal age) children to have full control of their own life-- to exercise their rights and responsibilities for themselves-- and that includes the right to choose the person who they like to share and spend their life with. Parents should never intervene their (children's) happiness especially in the matter of the "heart".

It is true that most of our fellow Filipina wants to marry white people but I'm not one of them. I really admired man who worship God like Mr. Erick. You're marriage is blessed by God. May God protect your family ❤️
