i love how billy plays piano so inovativly! when u watch him from the early 70's videos and then here and later on, u think he and the rest of em, cant get any better but they get decades better!!!!!!! love this band! the greatest inspiration, the most touchin storys and the most amazing music! I LOVE U GUYS! and RIP my personal hero and motivation Billy Powell and all the others who have died over the years! GBLS!!

Many may not know but Charlie Daniels originally came to Nashville as a studio session guitarist. One day the fiddle player for an upcoming session called in sick. The producer was talking of postponing the session when Charlie spoke up and said he could play the fiddle. Producer asked to see what he had and as the saying goes the rest is history.

His death hurts us all and Lynrd Skynrd but I don't believe it will destroy the band; they will continue with probably one of Billy's "students" that loved his music and is ready to step in. you can't replace ANYone but someone can sit in and play in his memory.Lynrd Skynrd been goin too long to stop now...but it is too bad for all of us Skynrd fans and those piano players that learned SO much by listening and watching Billy play. May he rest in peace.

@dodgetruckn15 - We'd all love to see Ed back in the Band . But FYI ,Rickey does not play Ed's part's. Rickey plays Allen Collin's part's. It was Hughie Thomasson ,and now that Sparky Mark guy replacing Ed King ,playing Ed's part's. So your comment should read " Why can't Ed King be in Skynyrd instead of Sparky ?" Rickey was a great addition to the band , he keeps the spirit and music alive very well. It would be great to see Ed back on the Stratocaster.

@dodgetruckn15 Yeah ,now that you mention it , I saw Ed play Allen's parts with Gary on Workin for MCA . I'd love to see Ed back in the band ,and even Artimus . I got to see them again live a few weeks ago ,and Rickey did a helluva job ,he does bring new life back into that band. The new Bass player was cool ,he looked and dressed just like 70's era Leon. Sparky plays the parts well ,but he just don't seem to fit in. We NEED ED back Let's start a Facebook petition to bring Ed back
