Lynyrd Skynyrd was the best band ever. Never a bad song. Sweet Little Missy. Kicks ass.
@jeffscronce85642 жыл бұрын
Not taking anything away from Ed, or Bob Burns. Everything they contributed to the band is without a doubt a part of LS history, but just think of the possibilities and the direction the band was going with Steve. The hits would of been endless … Rip Ronnie, Steve, Cassie and the rest of them … 🙏🏻

This song and Georgia Peaches would have been hits if they were released on Street Survivors. You can tell that Skynyrd was moving towards a different sound on the two songs with Steve in the band. In my opinion the two outtakes are Skynyrd's best songs behind I Need You because of the blues influences and how much more of Billy's piano there was compared to earlier songs.
@13thvarebel164 жыл бұрын
How did this song not make the original album? There is so much soul in it. The whole band brings it but Ronnie, Billy and Steve are on fire! They did a ton of good material for Street Surviviors so it must have been hard to narrow the final release down to 8 tracks. At least the re-release featured the extra material!

thats funny,... im 46 now, .. been listening to skynyrd since i was 8 y.o.,.. the first time i heard this was a few months ago, when skynyrd had their channel on sirius radio, .. love it,... I also just seen their farewell tour at NJ pnc arts center,..i was very surprised they did most of their older songs when Ronnie was alive,.. ( they usually did a "medley" of them songs ),.. this concert was loud,. and rocked !!

Ronnie VanZant -- Gary Rossington get the writer credits on this classic. I have always wondered if this band ever wrote a bad song. Well a song that didnt go over to well. Of course this would be stuff recorded before 10-20-1977 as I will never go along with anything after this date being Skynyrd or even close to it. They may play the songs at concerts. Not even close to the real deal. How did a tribute tour turn into we are Skynyrd? Just Crazy as Hell. People will do anything for a dolla bill!

Hey they wanted to keep going. The new band never had the same chemistry and innovative spirit that the original Lynyrd Skynyrd did (no band does), but they still rock.
@tedperry64663 жыл бұрын
@13thVaRebel They should have honored the legal agreement from the '70s, that the name Lynyrd Skynyrd would never be used again. I originally was against the 1987 tribute tour, but after seeing the Oct 20th concert, that honored not only the dead, but also the survivors, I now have no problem with the touring part. Still hate that they released new material with the name Lynyrd Skynyrd

This should've been on the album. This is fantastic. They should have put this and Georgia peaches on the album and put one more time on a compilation since it was recorded in 71 or so. It's a great song but this and Georgia peaches fit in with the street survivors sound more since Steve Gaines is on them. My opinion anyway

This is cool. Never heard this. I always though that Street Survivors/Steve Gaines stuff sounded like the band was exploring a new cleaner sound, not really jazzy but cleaner and less hard-rock sounding. This sounds like that too. SG and RVZ...imagine what they would've done.

no no no dear.. This was during Daytona Bike Week and it was over 20 years ago. We have great older rock bands that play here during the annual event ! The people are wall to wall in some places and Pyle had his limo drop him off at one of the 'lower key' beer/wine bars because he saw us with a calming campfire burning in front of the place. It was late in the evening and I was already done my shift (I tended bar for the event) and we sat and talked for 2 hours (he was alone-so was I) and burned a fatty. So - Take THAT in your pipe and smoke it ! ;-)
@coonkirk17968 жыл бұрын
