Per writes most of the songs and records the demos himself. A number of demo songs have been released. I like to hear the demos and compare with what Per and Marie have chosen to release. Love your channel ❤️

Yep 👍 Per is a Great, Great Songwriter, musically and lyrically and more people need to recognise him for this. They also have a very talented group of musicians in the group who bring their own gifts and ideas, resulting in a very special all round band who create extraordinary songs. For example, Jonas Isaacson who plays lead guitar is a phenomenal guitarist as are Mickie"Nord" Anderson and Christopher Lundquist, each has their own style which adds a slight difference to a song. 😊

Per was a popstar and girl idol and Marie had her solo career before they formed Roxette. His Gyllene tider songs are swedish classics. Songs we sing in summer when we’re drunk

Per writes almost everything. Marie wrote some music and lyrics for a few songs like Watercolors in the rain, Hotblooded, Everyday, Little girl. The first song Marie wrote the lyrics and music to was Waiting for the rain which is my all time fave Roxette song. Like a big band 60's vibe with all the na na na na na's to give you the feels 👌❤️

Most guitar riffs are written by the mighty Jonas Isacsson. Some are written by Per though. And don’t forget their producer, Clarence Öfwerman. Very important.

This is a particular song by Roxette, pretty relaxing one and romantic somehow. His voice was nice and of course we can't compare it to Marie's one but on this kind of song it was perfect -

Per has such a spectrum of abilities for genres. They’ve released solid ballads, solid rock, solid pop. But they’re always high quality. Not many writers can ace each genre. I’m always so grateful to be aware of this band and their huge discography. You’ve so much more yet to discover too….

Per basically wrote most of the songs in their entirety. But in terms of instrumentality he also got a lot of help from his long term co collaborator Mats Person. Mats is also a genius who also helped Marie a lot in her solo career. But in terms of Guitr riffs that was heavily influenced if not totally the work of Jonas Isacsson.

I'm a Roxette fanatic. Their lyrics sometimes don't make sense- kind of like ABBA - but Per should teach music theory... his music is perfect in a mathematical way. Nothing ever out of place. The songs take surprising and inspiring turns but they never seem out place.

I think Marie was heavily pregnant during the recording of this song etc. And their native language, trying to pronounce the word Vulnerable was quite hard for them! It makes you appreciate the song even more really.

Hey Anton - The reason you never heard of Roxette until recently is because you were very young when they were charting all their hit songs on American and Canadian radio (as well as the rest of the world). Anyway, you've done reaction videos on 'The Look", "Joyride", and "Crash Boom Bang," but left out the "Tourism" album (?), which was their 4th album. It was written and performed while they were touring, so there are a few 'live' songs thrown in for good measure ... in addition to many songs written by Per throughout the tour. I especially love "The Heart Shaped Sea" and "The Rain," but the entire album is worth a listen .... when you get a chance. Oh, and Per's name is pronounced like the fruit - pear. He's also super sweet in person.

Per on a ballad with his odd little voice is just hell to listen to, but Vulnerable do have some nice lyrics.

I know Marie is gone, and in a way Roxette kind of died there, but on the other hand life goes on, and so does Roxette. In a different form though, and I think it is respectful to Marie as she was an integral part of Roxette. PG (Per Gessle's) Roxette is releasing new music and I really dig Walking On Air. That might be a nice addition to the channel too. I absolutely love the old stuff, but it seems Per's music still pulls the right chords inside me after all these years. Well, decades.

Being honest, I really didn't like Vulnerable that much at the time. I found it rather twee and I was fully Team Marie. As I've 'matured' I've come to appreciate this song more and more and today, I really rate it.

There is a certain vulnerable quality to Per's vocals that suits this song completely. Marie's voice is just too powerful for this. Had she sung it, it would have been a very different song. It is the very vulnerability of Per's voice that matches the subject matter and produces such a great song - possibly their best.

Truly beautiful. Especially the guitar bridge. His perspective of his object of affection made him vulnerable. Forgive me, I don't remember where I may make a suggestion. Anyways... I'm not a big fan of Lionel Richie. That said, check out "All Night Long". Truly an amazing song that is a pure celebration of life. The song topped a couple of charts. This was one of his best. As far as I know, he never did best this song. Believe me, you will not regret it

Not my favorite one. It sounds more Backstreet Boys than Roxette. There are other ballads sang by Per but with a more roxettish sound, like "A thing about you" (2002) or "It just happens" (2016).

Per writes everything for Roxette, except "Watercolour". He writes the music and the lyrics. His Swedish soloalbums are amazing aswell. He also has a couple of english soloalbums that you should check out. "Son of a plumber" is one of them. And the one album most like Roxette is called "The world according to Gessle".
