All tracks on Time I are written by Jari Mäenpää. However, Kai Hahto planned the drums for at least Sons and Stars on the album.

Also take into account that it has a longer/calmer intro, but it sets the mood. Oh, and the ending is just the wind 😄

Don't tell me you forgot that it was Nightwish's Kai Hahto on drums and Jukka Koskinen on bass! 😲 However, I knew this would be something you'd appreciate. They really tell a story (or paint a picture if you will) with their songs, don't they? The songs are quite complex and layered, but I like that. Like you said, you can get lost in them. You get to understand the structure better if you listen to their songs a couple more times. There are two more songs from this same rehearsal session: 'Land Of Snow And Sorrow' and 'Sons Of Winter And Stars'. 'Land Of Snow And Sorrow' is a beautiful song and talking about painting a picture: this totally does! 'Sons Of Winter And Stars' is a much heavier song, with a lot more screaming (not really my preference). However, Kai really shows his skills here. Absolutely impressive. Look for the 'Live Rehearsals At Sonic Pump Studios' videos of both songs.

Great reaction. Loved your insights and analysis. Wintersun songs tend to be longer journey types of songs rather then typical verse chorus types. They are Finnish and the vibe I get is of an ancient northern European culture, standing in a winter field at night under the Aurora Borealis. I love Loneliness which perfectly captures the isolation and quiet of winter. I also love Jari's previous band Ensiferum. They are a folk metal band from Finland. Very epic, questing type of music. My favorite with Jari is Lei Lei Hei.

Technically the first part "long intro" is a different track called Darkness and Frost.

There's a meme about Jari saying : You see a guitar playing vocalist. We see a Warrior of Time, Son of Winter and Stars, King of the Dark Elves! (something like that, don't remember exactly). But yeah, if you listen to Wintersun, you understand.

This song, this album (Proud to be owner of that) and soon there will be "Time 2" 🤘😎🤘!!!! layers in Wintersun songs are insane 😲. All the different parts, melodies, and compositional layers (upon layers), that went into making this gorgeous masterpiece. For me the transitions with Jari's range from growls to clean vocals is just phenomenally flawless. And there is Kai's drumming.....🤯. Also, Jukka without his massive beard (Now in Nightwish with Kai) looks kinda funny 😂. One of the most beautifully epic songs you will ever hear in metal. NWSU.
