Yep, that sounds and looks the same as it did in the 80s - except for the driver's display is new. The driver is supposed to have a thermal sight also. Same engine though. Honestly not a super hard concept to put into play. Just a VR or AR type visor with multiple cameras placed around the tank would do the trick (expensive tbh)

Great vid! Is that an odometer below the speedo? Interesting that one is in mph and the other in kilometers. Best guess is that mph is used since that what American drivers are accustomed to and km is used because that’s how the military navigates / communicates

I heard that the Abrams driver is one of the most comfortable places to be. And it happened where some actually fell asleep while driving? So they carry a stick to poke the driver awake.
@Ugimara-Imokrasa
@Ugimara-Imokrasa 2 жыл бұрын
Everything up until the stick part is true. For the most part. That would require the turret crew to turn the turret completely to face the back of the tank to then open the swing gate and poke the driver. Just seems impractical. Never happened to me. I can't speak for others.

I went from watching videos of old diesel engines starting to tanks starting. I must say, the tank startup is very cool! I know nothing about tanks. Here I thought they were diesel engines but I looked it up and they are gas, is that right? I am sure it isn't quiet inside the tank. Are they quiet from the outside or does it sound like a jet engine running? Thank you to you and all the men and women who are and have served. You all are truly amazing human beings!
