This video is about the M3/M3A1 Grease gun. This was the U.S. Army’s attempt at a cost effective small arm. All though it was very primitive in features, with fixed sights, crude construction, only capable of fully automatic. It was effective in becoming a tool for any Soldier or Marine for many decades to come.

Tried out some recording tweaks to minimize background noise, I think that led to it cutting out several words. I apologize for that, and I will be looking at tweaking that for the future!

I could've bought an M3 from J. Curtis Earl in Arizona for $600 back in the late '90s. Wish I had!

When I was in I was given a M 3 a1 an yes I was a tanker M60a3 back in the 80's loved mine

A platoon sergeant gave me his after a field problem but I had to clean the damn thing before the Arms Room took it. Platoon sergeants are sneaky. Handling it it seems bigger than looking at one in a photo.

My dad actually had a grease gun in Vietnam. He traded a pilot for it.

I was in tanks in the 80's & 90's had a M-3A1 if they were for sale I would by one, if they do become for sale in the future I would buy one!😙

I love this sub so much, i bought one made by Umarex, that shots bb's.. @465fps, fully auto, all steel, It is an exact replica. I LOVE it. I have a video of me shooting it on my page.

Awesome! I had one by ICS for awhile, until I traded it for a paintball marker. Absolutely loved my Vietnam era set up with it, was blast to use.

How long was the range?

Fixed sights were set at 100Yds. I would say .45 ACP would not be very effective past 200yards in terms of accuracy alone.
