You know, when people say they're here because of a show or movie, it means they liked the song and took the time to look it up. So it's ridiculous when people make those 'anti-here from tv show/movie' comments as if people discovering music from a show or movie is bad. All bands/musicians and their songs are discovered somewhere before you ever knew about them, whether it be a show, a movie, on the radio, through word of mouth, etc. You should be glad they're being discovered as you once did. People look incredibly stupid when they say things like "Who's here because of their taste in music instead of a show?" Humans just don't use their brains half the time.

We played this song at my little brother's funeral (he died of cancer at 24). M83 was his favorite band. I miss him so much.

This song takes me to places in my mind that I didn't realise where still there. Its fantasy, adventure, beauty. All the things I've lost over the years. Thank you M83 for reminding me that the world wasn't always terrible.

I listened to this song after a christian retreat. During the event, people were cryjng, reaching out to god. This open gesture of emotion always scared me. But at this event, i let go and cried. My friend asked me what was wrong and i couldnt say. I remember her saying "is it all just too much?" And i just nodded. The truth was i was having a hard time dealing with a recent family tragedy. My grandpa killed my grandma and then he killed himself. Love you emma. Love you bia. Sleep well angels...

Back in 2015, I somehow was fortunate enough to stumble on M83. Literally, by pure coincidence. After I heard one song, I was hooked. I listened to every album made, devoured each song and found that I fell in love with every single piece they had created. I know it doesn't seem long, but looking back, I can't help but feel like I was so incredibly youthful and innocent and since those four years, I've changed dramatically --I don't think the same way, I don't see the world the way I used to; I'm older, I'm well-seasoned now, I'm in a different place. I guess, in short, at the time, I never thought I would get old, that I would have the privilege of basking in my youth. Ha, time proved me wrong. Totally. I'm coming back to their music now, after all this time, and I'm able to fall in love with them again, but in an entirely different way. M83 is so damn underrated --they always have been. Still, what a gem I've found. Thank you, M83, for making me feel young, no matter how many days pass.

One of the best things about Gossip Girl was that their soundtrack was amazing and they really helps a lot of low profile musicians get a bigger audience. This is one my favorite songs ever featured on the show and years after the series ended I still love M83.

The Originals Season 1 Episode 20 brought me here. The song gives me goosebumps and for some unknown reason makes me cry. Its hauntingly beautiful.

I found this album as a teenager, I would fall asleep every night listening to this song. Imagining what it would be like to lose yourself in someone. As I got older I became more jaded and this song faded into the background, and my dreams of love started to fade as all I found was heartache. In February I was in a motorcycle crash and almost died. I was so scared and all I wanted to do is call my mom and tell her I was sorry and I loved her as I laid bleeding in a ditch. I fought so hard to stay positive, make jokes and stay strong, but it all feels so fruitless. Nothing is better, and I can walk a little now but any dream I had is gone. But I lay in bed, and listen to this song as I imagine would it would be like to not be alone through all of this. Even though it all feels so pointless, seeing my family that night, it broke my heart. They thought I was dead. I may not ever see my dreams come true. I might not ever find that beautiful woman of my dreams and have kids, but I can help my nieces and nephews accomplish their dreams. I can watch them grow into fine young people. I may go to bed alone every night, but this song reminds me, if I were to go forever, I'd break more than my own heart.

Introducing my 8 day old newborn baby boy to music

When I was 15(gosh I feel old)I would escape to another world with this song. I would get home from school and when the sun would be setting, I would lay down on my bed, eyes shut while this song played and I would envision myself at the beach. A sort of calmness overcame me and until this day (I’m 24 now, time goes so fast!) whenever I need that sort of calmness to wash over me, or even when I go to sleep, I put this song and it still comforts me. I bet we all have a story behind this song.

This song was awesome when you first heard it in your late 20s and it takes on a new meaning when you’re now 43 and you lost your mother a few months ago. One thing it never ceased doing, however, was making me cry.
