I’m reading “Crying in H Mart” and every few pages I have to stop reading and look up the Korean dishes the author discusses. All roads lead to Maangchi! She is so delightful to watch-she’s like a breath of fresh air. I wish, oh how I wish!, I could download a plate of kimchi pancakes onto to my plate as easily as I download one of Maangchi’s recipes!

Maangchi is NOT kidding when she says a non-stick frying pan is important! If your pan sucks like mine, I suggest making smaller pancakes. It won't be as fun to eat / share with others, but you can get the crispiness right!

This reminds me of a great children's book called "No Kimchi for Me!" It's about a Korean grandmother who teaches her granddaughter to love kimchi with kimchi pancakes!

my korean cooking story is, i lived in korea for 5 years and i learn to love the food and then learn from maangchi how to cook all my favorites. korean cooking is part of our meals along side malaysian, western, indian and chinese food.

I’m Japanese local here in Hawaii but my uncle married Korean and my aunty used to always make these Korean pancakes for us with whatever she had on hand when we came over as kids in the late 90s. Haven’t had them in years but gonna try making this finally cause I remember them tasting amazing growing up lol

Ever since I made my first batch of kimchi, I am officially addicted and I eat it almost for every meal. The versatality of it is crazy. There's kimchi noodles, fried rice, kimbap, stews, toast and pancakes like these ones. Truly amazing. The downside is I live in Malaysia where the Korean red pepper is slightly on the expensive side but the taste of it makes it so worth it.

I just tried this pancake in a Korean restaurant and now I am in love with it. Just wondered how is it to cook it. Very easy, next time I’ll try it. Thx for the video! 😊

How am I just finding this channel? The only Korean dish I actually make is the army base stew (Budae jjigae). Beyond that my knowledge of Korean cooking is limited mostly to bulgogi and kimbap (gimbap). I actually saw a Korean actor make kimchi pancakes on a television show and went to Google, where I found this. My youngest daughter spent some time in Korea several years ago, so she and I will be sharing this very soon.
