Hello. I have exactly the same problem with my Macbook, although it is more powerful because it is from 2017 2.9 GHz with 4 cores, 16 RAM and 8 graphics. The problem appeared exactly since I started editing movies on Davinci. What computer would you recommend for editing movies? Is Mac mini M1,8 core, 16 RM + monitor or iMac M1 or i9 ??? . Thanks man

Hey, when you say you put drinks coasters under the 4 corners, did you mean inside the actual MacBook, or just on the exterior of the 4 corner/black grip pads to raise it from the surface it is on?

Hey body I have exactly this problem and this video is really helpful thanks for your sharing at least now I knew where is the problem.

Great video- Here is my take on the issue. The cooling system on the Macbook pro's are awful. They require alot of maintenace as far as blowing out the heat exchanger's and basically it's best to just leave the screws out on the buttom cover period. The black tabs on the bottom cover is best if two are missing. This helps more air flow across the board, mainly the one's in the front of the board. On my two MBP 17" the graghic chips are the biggest issue. I installed a after mkt chip that bypassed those bad chips on all the MB on the 2011 MBP's. I don't know who did your board repair. But they are crap. NO board should return with heat past on them. That means they did'nt clean it. Most likely they heated it. ( a sorry ass reflow in a oven) and charged you for it. I'm using my MBP responding to this post. I'm also having a issue of a freeze so I guess I go get the air hose and blow it out. I also run smcFancontrol thats a big help to control heating up issue and it allow me to monitor the board temperure as well. It's also worth noting. It's good to change the heat exchanger's and invest in new fan's both can cause big problems on the motherboards.

I have a macbook pro mid 2012, i use it only for safari. for weeks it works fine until it freezes and won't unblock even waiting for days. same when i have to turn it on, for weeks i turn it on and off, until a day i turn it on and it gets forever stuck on the loading bar. i do the SOS on the hard disk, and mostly of the times it has no errors. all i can do is restore factory it and reinstall the OS. can you please tell me where is the problem? is it just the RAM problem? so i buy a new RAM and everything should be fine?

The one on the bottom is the processor.. as for what you can do with it, keep it and use it to surf the web with it. Finally I would recommend you get a laptop cooling pad, it's basically a plastic plate with built in fans to cool those parts that overheat..

My Mac overheated while I was editing photos on Lightroom, it turned off. Tried turning it on, but it would turn off after a minute. Did some things I found online, then it turned on. The screen started to glitch even when I was just on my desktop doing nothing... bought it used tho....
