The best part is, the guitar and doof wagon, speakers, flamethrowers and all, it's all 100% real. The doof wagon was functional in real life, and the guitar actually shoots flames, it sounds like shit, but it works like a real guitar

Blind, deaf, and dumb, the Doof Warrior plays his maddening metal march through instinct, the feel of his rig vibrating, and his remaining sense of smell. It is both impossible and unnecessary to communicate with him, which is just as well, for he is both idiot and savant, and is only anything because of his flaming axe.

In the 'Max-Verse', after 'The Road Warrior', I would have said 'Lord Humongous' held that title. He owned the Wasteland's only mobile LOUDSPEAKER system atop the coolest 'non-V8 Interceptor' out there! Jason Voorhees would eventually take that mask public/commercial. There was no "...end to the horror". 😣😂 No, Doof Warrior was clearly a Mirror character of Bartertown's Sax-Meister himself, the blind, the naked (almost) Ton Ton Tattoo. "Play something Ton Ton. Something...Tragic."

From a cinematography standpoint the scene from the beginning (0:00) is far superior. Move up the drums, then boom, door warrior shredding, simultaneously revealing the mass of traffic. Gorgeous work and camera movement

I saw this in theater when it came out. This film has aged like the fine Australian desert. The choreography that went into all the driving /car scenes is amazing. You really have to watch numerous times to appreciate. Just as I've come to appreciate the talent of the director George Miller 👍💜

Fun fact this is all real which is weird since they had to add the music later but according to the guy who played the doof warrior the guitar did play music the speakers worked and he had a button to shoot flames but it sounded like garbage the guitar didn't sound good at all but it kinda fit the theme of the movie being crafted from garbage and scrap

When Coma's rig fell apart I nearly cried, one of the most tragic things in the movie. Everything about him (and the movie) is so awesome. Or rather, AWESOME to the power of 9000, freaking flawless, God bless everyone who worked on that piece of art.

This movie was one of my favorite theater going experiences, the second the camera panned out to reveal the door warrior for the first time as he rips that chord and the flame thrower ignites, everyone in the theater cheered!
