The Madagascar franchise of movies are interesting with Why Madagascar 2 is Easily the Best One, from Dreamworks who made megamind, road to el dorado, shrek and puss in boots the last wish. Alex and the Penguins are really funny and King Julien really likes to move it move it.

Dubios is literally one of the most simple villains DreamWorks has ever created. She has no tragic backstory, no ulterior motives, no sinister plot to take over the world. All she wanted was _”ze līon”_ yet she still managed to make an impact and have a place in our memories because of how terrifying and how much of a bada$$ she was. 💀💀

I believe there are records from Ancient Rome where they put tigers and lions fight each other and tigers usually came up on top. Although the records are very scarce meaning such fights were extremely rare.

@@misterwhalethewhale Nah, I'm with that guy. Quite frankly, I didn't even enjoy the second movie. The whole time I kinda just thought that Hiccup's mom got off way to easily for basically abandoning her child and husband to fuck around with Dragons. And the other Riders were basically sidelined into obscurity for the whole movie. Now, the TV series between 1 & 2 on the other hand... were absolute peak. Good use of characters, good worldbuilding, an exceedingly great villain, memorable arcs, the whole shebang. Penguins of Madagascar was also a great series, but unlike that show, these shows actually had over-arching plot lines, and they pulled them off really well, IMHO.

I remember watching this one in theaters and having a fun time with it. Although, for the circus Firework scene, I just couldn’t help but think about the animators who had to animate all of that. They must have gotten multiple carpal tunnels after making all of that happen, and I feel so bad…

Remember that the existence of the Freedom Tower at 18:12 means that 9/11 happened in the Madagascar universe. The Twin Towers even showed up in a flashback in the second one.

hey this is a note to whoever edited this. The animals weren't in Madagascar at the beginning of this movie. They left that place at the beginning of the second movie. For the rest of it and the beginning of the third they are in Tanzania. Specifically the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

When I was 6-7, I started religiously watching this movie. I’ve seen this movie more than I’ve watched Puss and Boots; The Last Wish, meaning probably 30-40 times if not more in my entire lifespan. This movie made a grave impact on how I acted as a kid. It gave me strange mannerisms and personality traits that I adapted into myself as I watched it. These traits, were so significant, that they have genuinely impacted the way I am today and how I currently act. This movie changed my life and made me who I am. I’ve watched it so many times because, it’s a masterpiece really. Best movie of all time.

I did some kind of math, These guys swam from Kilimanjaro, Tanzania to Monte Carlo, France That pisses me off more than anything else in the movie for some reason. No, it's because it makes the rest of the movie feel unnecessary, It's like having an instant win button that you only use once. The distance between Kilimanjaro and Monte Carlo is 6,060 kilometers (3,760 miles) as the crow flies. The distance between Monte Carlo and Manhattan is 6,000 kilometers (3,730 miles). So it's a shorter distance with arguably fewer obstacles and yet they are struggling to Move It Move It.

one thing that stuck out to me when I first saw this movie is that, the people at the new York zoo are talking about the French lady finding and returning Alex. the whole reason the first movie happened is that the zoo was trying to release them all into the wild, so like they didn't loose him they actively got rid of him.

The first two films had such weak nothing-burger antagonists and then suddenly this lady drops in like a bomb out of nowhere in the third one. This is my favorite movie out of the three, no contest. one problem i have the film is that it kinda just ignores the events of the 2nd film like even when i was younger it confused me how alex was so quick to wanna leave afriaca and return to new york despite the fact africa is is his childhood home and his parents being there as well, we don't even get to see him say bye to his parents.

@@PurpEngine601okay then i can understand why the parents wouldn't appear in the film the could at least had a part where alex mentions saying bye to his parents that would have been enough for me.

Whatever you think about the Madagascar trilogy (quadrilogy if you're including the Penguins of Madagascar), you can't deny Hans Zimmer nailed the score for all the films. He added layers to the main theme, improving upon 1 & 2. Then there's the banger: Monte Carlo Chase, making an already awesome chase scene even better.

3:00 I like how this bit is implying they began swimming from Madagascar when the second movie had them crash land in Africa via airplane that they built, so, technically, they could have been starting from anywhere.
