"When you take on great responsibility, great power will come" not only butchers a great line, it's just not true. Any idiot can have a kid, that doesn't mean you'll be a great parent. Any idiot can push the gas pedal, that doesn't make you a great driver.

@goffe22826 ай бұрын
True, but the original line is equally nonsensical if you just look at the words being spoken. Great responsibility does not come with great power, but if you're a good person then it probably should, which is what uncle Ben was trying to say. Makes more sense than this though.

Any idiot can make a movie doesn’t make it good.
@masechill36306 ай бұрын
@@goffe2282well actually what uncle Ben says is 100 percent true. If you are given great power then by proxy great responsibility is also given. For example, if you are made a king (power), then you have to rule (responsibility). Now you can be irresponsible by being a corrupt ruler, but the responsibility is still there. Another analogy is driving. When you are operating a vehicle (power), then you must follow the rules of the road (responsibility), or else you could harm someone. This is what Ben means by “with great power, comes great responsibility”

That’s quite sad and how you know that Hollywood is just taking the money they can and not even trying anymore. Good shows and film are kinda rare now. Secondly, I used to collect Spiderman comics over 15 years ago and when I started my collection Spidey was going through the Morlun story arc, the "mystic vampire" that hunted spidermen throughout the decades. During the stories of this time, Spidey often asked Ezequiel and Madame Web for advice, since the villains had a more mystical approach to the spider powers. I have very fond memories of these comics and stories and was looking forward to seeing them brought to life on the big screen, but I guess it won't happen so soon.

The central character - a person who gets brief, random, puzzling glimpses of bad incidents in the immediate future, and tries to change things for the better in the nick of time - is enough to build a GREAT movie. It wouldn't even need a villain or any of that spider nonsense. It would have the three canonical struggles of a good story: Man against nature : the partial, confusing visions oblige her to desperately and hurriedly seek more information before each disaster comes to pass Man against man : medical authorities diagnose hallucinations and want to detain her Man against himself : after some of her corrective actions make things worse rather than better, she is tempted to quit her self appointed role. But where are the writers who can handle real people in real situations? Were they ignored by Hollywood because they didn't tick enough checkboxes on the DEI spreadsheet?

I watched Kaylasays’ video on this movie the other day and she went to see the film with her boyfriend (her boyfriend happens to be a big Spider-Man comic fan) and he said it best that Sony in the presentation of this movie has created this worked mythology around spiders to make this movie work when the point of the Spider-Man lore is that Peter was a regular teen who happened to be bitten by a radioactive spider. It’s something that could happen to anyone and it happened to Peter. It creates a redundancy in that spiders are magical creatures. And on the topic of the budget, I always think about how Leigh whannell had a budget of 3 million dollars and made the movie, upgrade. Which to me is one of the most unique and underrated movies in the last 10 years. What’s the point of having that big of a budget when you’re clearly not utilizing it?!

The thing is it could’ve been decent if they just adapted the Spiderwoman Volume 3 storyline. You have Cassandra in her mid 40’s, you change Charlotte Witter from being her granddaughter to her abandoned daughter, have Charlotte be the villain instead of Ezekiel going after spider powered women to become THE Spiderwoman and have Matty gain Charlottes spider legs at the climax of the movie via magic ritual rather than mid way. Far more interesting, closer to the source material and doesn’t infringe on Spider-Man at all. But I honestly don’t get why they went for this in the first place as there is no brand synergy right now, in the comics Cassandra and Matty are dead, Julia is the current Madam Web and Anya is well as forgettable as ever as it’s not like there’s a fan base looking for this movie nor will new fans get anything out of looking for these characters in comics other than reading older stories which will not relate to the characters they see on screen. It’s like someone said what if we have a movie where the villain is a dark Spider-Man and they said well e could use Ezekiel who really wasn’t a villain to being with.

At the very least the video is only about 7 minutes long, which in my Opinion is still 6 minutes too long because it took me only one of those minutes to understand that ‘this thing is bad stupid, abysmal, horrible, worst, convoluted’ (which is the only point that is made) before i got bored.
