I actually hooked up my ps3 for shits and giggles. Started playing NCAA football 14 the other day and I’m addicted. It’s the most fun I’ve had with a football game in years. I got so used to Maddens crap over the years, that I forgot what it was like to actually enjoy playing football games. I bought the new madden every year for at least 12 years. I’ve not bought the last two (21,22) and only purchased 19,20 after it went on sale for $20. I’m not even looking forward to the NCAA reboot in the coming years as I know it will be more of the same of the recent Madden games. I’ve gone on a full ea boycott for the last two years and counting, and I will NEVER buy another EA title again. They lost out on a 2 decade long customer of buying NCAA, Madden, fifa and nhl. I did skip a few titles here and there throughout the years but more often than not I bought all 4. Even dipped my toes in UT more than I’d like to admit. The decrease in quality in games was getting to be too much, but what finally did it for me was being locked out of my 15 year long EA account because it is tied to an old email I no longer have access to. I can no longer play online on any EA game or even download updated rosters to play offline franchises/dynasties. I’ve tried numerous times to recover it, but each time to no avail. Their customer support is maybe the worst I’ve ever dealt with, period. It actually brings me joy to see others fed up with EA’s crap and boycotting them as well, I hope EA as a company burns to the ground.

I feel like this is the first iteration of Madden where people on a massive scale are getting fed up with EA and Madden, and potentially turning away from the series. Angry Joe's review was pretty scathing. It's a result of EA just going with the flow for more than half a decade. It's clear that Frostbite was a bad choice for Madden, and I'm not convinced that EA will ever acknowledge they screwed up by forcing Tiburon to use Frostbite.

Totally agree with Ryan Moody---this game has reached the point where they cant patch these bugs away anymore and you can't put an annual layer of code on it anymore. The foundation has collapsed from underneath. They need to take 2 to 3 years off and overhaul the whole thing starting with a completely new game engine.

It’s really amazing that they put this out and charged money for this. It used to be that a game was FINISHED when it came out. With their ability to add patches, they just stopped caring! And one of the saddest parts is that people are still buying the game! You fix it by not buying the game and sending a message. Not paying for packs and MUT is what will change the game.

It's 2021 and somehow instead of improving, Madden find ways to keep making it worst each year. You don't think we can do better? Next year, 2022, there is no QB, the ball just snaps and the ball magically flies to someone random.

EA Sports: Doing less than the bare minimum but charging you a premium for it. "But $70 is just the price for a new game!" No. $70 is the price for a new next-gen game. Madden is a broken HD version of a two generation old game. Not even good enough to be a HD remaster. Paying anything more than the price of a used copy of Madden from last gen is paying EA too much money.

@RyanMoody21 I have a theory. Hear me out on this one. I think what broke Madden completely like this, is the ability to now give your player ANY number. The NFL throwing away the numbering conventions (00-19 QBs/WRs/Ks/Ps), (20-49 RBs/DBs/S), (50-79 OLs/DLs/LBs) (80-89 WRs), (90-99 LBs/DLs) totally screwed up the flags within the Madden coding. That's why it can no longer distinguish what players are playing on offense or defense, where they're supposed to be playing on offense or defense. I think in the coding, instead of creating OUs (Organizational units) by position, they did it by number. And since there is no more number convention, they took out the OUs by number, and didn't build a new OU system by position and it screwed up the coding on recognizing where players are supposed to be playing.

Ryan, I loved the video. Quick thing - you can fly smaller planes entirely from the rear seat. My brother's Cubmaster (licensed pilot) gave us rides in his 1+1 seater, and he did everything from the back (used foot pedals for some of the things the front seat did).

Years ago I was reading an article about EA, and the gist of it was the new programmers were often put in EA Sports to get 'broke in'. So essentially, a bunch of rookie programmers out of school often work on Madden. Well, that explains a lot.

Hey this also exists in madden mobile 22. For the first week if you ran a prevent defense, one of your line backers would be substituted for your quarterback, and a safety will be swapped to your tight end. Players moving in an offensive audible (done by the computer only), will move the quarterback to the right of the center a couple yards, and he will receive the snap from there. Also when playing with minimal gametime left, the computer defense will call time outs even if the clock has been stopped by and out of bounds or a quarter ending.

Boycotted last year, bought it this year with high hopes. I was wrong. So so wrong. Never buying this game again unless they clear the deck and start fresh with a whole new team and leads for the game. This game is straight up robbing people every year.

As a game developer I can tell you they have to actually build a new game to fix these issues, because the problems you're seeing are a result of making low effort changes to the same game over and over.

I've also experienced this in Madden 12 but only on one condition: While playing offense, i start to supersim. I come back to play the game late in the fourth quarter with the lead, my team is on defense, and the cpu team is doing a hurry up offense (I think the hurry up is the reason why it happens). The thing is, all the players that were on the field when i was playing earlier, are currently on the field. My offensive team was playing defense & the cpu's defensive team was running to the line of scrimmage to run an offensive play. Next play goes back to normal though. Weird stuff

This is by far the worst Madden. I didn't think things could get worse. This game needs a total rehaul. New engine. New company. It's gotta happen somehow

they are only going to fix these problems when the consumer stops buying their game as long as people are buying it they will never care

In my franchise mode, Trent Williams (49ers OL) talked to me the HC thinking of retiring….I traded him for a 1st rd pick to the eagles……then in week 12 had another talk to the 49ers head coach - IN AN EAGLES UNIFORM - saying he loved how we ar winning and he won’t retire anymore - wtf - ur not in my team anymore Trent Williams!!

I feel like the "Holy Jesus!" voice line from 'Full Metal Jacket' could be used to describe this game. There's just so much that you see and can point at and say "wtf is going on here?!" It just feels like inbreeding anymore with Madden. They copy and pasted it so much that it's just turning into an amalgamation full of problems.

This whole having the wrong players on the wrong side of the ball started on madden 20! 3 games ago now. It's easy to replicate in 20 as well. Connected franchise with RB, hold Triangle after 3rd to try to run hurry up and next thing you know the defense will be punting and you and the qb will be on the line with the qb waiting for an imaginary snap. It's ass
