I don’t know anything about her boyfriend, but my ex-boyfriend hated it when I dressed nicer than him, and so he would say comments like this and that’s the vibe I got. I thought it was a formal event. Maddie's final outfit looks like they're going to a casual party-I'm a guy, and that is in no way "formal" for a woman. Guys? Our idea of "formal" is grab a black suit jacket, a button-down shirt, then "::sniffs underarm:: Yeah-I got deodorant!"

I strongly disliked her pick as well don't worry! For an outfit that's supposed to be for a formal event, she chose something that clashed in a bad way and that I'd associate more with a night out at the club or something. Both the white coat or the red dress would be lovely for something formal. The white gave me fairy business woman vibes with the hair, and the red one made her look overall very classy and feminine. Her boyfriend gave her the wrong advice 😆

@@sachic6795 I mean, I can see it as very plausible. I'm from the country side, but my boyfriend went to an art university in a city a hundred miles away from here. The first time I went to visit him I almost had a stroke from how pretty much everyone in the city was dressing. Imagine furs, leopard prints, feathers, neon colors, a combination of all of the previous, gigantic heels, crazy colored hair. Some were straight out of a freak show, others were out of a fashion show. There was no in between. I couldn't believe that someone would actually wear those clothes on their day to day lives 🤣
