Speaking of ages, I am 81 and I still believe Phil Collins is fantastic and the gorilla is brilliant! I will remember them both forever!

I remember when this ad first aired on TV. Absolutely everyone was talking about it like it was a blockbuster movie. Marketing team deserves a bonus.

No matter how many times I see this it never bore's me, Its brilliant

This advert actually ran for 4minutes plus and nobody turned over the channel in my house growing up (hell we couldnt even afford a chocolate bar back then lol). Still sends the hairs on my arms straight, one of the best adverts I grew up with. And the best bit doesnt even start 2 minutes 50 : )

Cadbury's truly hit the spot with this advert... I was shocked to see it was released 15 years ago. I still remember it like it was released last week 🤷

Convinced my dear Mum that this is an actual gorilla and they trained her by making little lights appear on the drum when she was to hit it and it took 3 years to train her. Bless she to this day still thinks that's a real Gorilla :)

I watch this a couple of times a year. It never ceases to make me gasp with delight. I love the slow build up through the gorilla's body language, and then the neck rolls! Bloody brilliant.

Wow, they must've spent hours training that Gorilla to play those drums.

I don't care it's an advert, was there ever a moment of musical perfection such as this?

When this came out, my girlfriend and I first saw it at the cinema and were blown away by it. Weeks later, on holiday in Spain at dinner with some friends of mine, the girlfriend asked "How did they teach that gorilla in the advert to play the drums?" We split up not long after that.

Everyone here in Britain was gobsmacked when this advert was 1st shown on our TV screens Plus its the sheer disbelief of seeing this extraordinary image of a mighty king of primates just waiting... patiently ... listening to Phil Collins song... waiting .. Wondering.. WTF? Then the incredible surprise with that iconic drum solo & this proud & cool, savvy amazing "Gorilla" smashing out that drum sound... This concept, who ever brought it up was beyond genius! I know its won many awards & accolades. But to see it after so long & out of the blue.. is well soul uplifting I am in bed poorly, British weather is true to its regard, Grey, drizzling freezing rain & skies like the apocalypse is due ... then i find this marvellous ad, Thank you, uploader, Cadbury chocolate .. which im actually eating now! And the genius minds who created this ad! 🇬🇧👧

This was a classic of the advertising exec getting it right at the chef's kiss level. I hope whoever came up with this concept got paid well. Magic. UK TV has been host to some simply superb adverts over the years, they almost became an art form, especially with the B&H adverts of the late 70s and 80s that I remember being shown in cinemas.
