Take a look behind the scenes as we take on the worlds gnarliest hill climb race ‘Pikes Peak’ in Colorado Springs. Over 156 corners climbing over 14,000 ft in elevation and racing the clock in our wild 2023 Mazda3 now with a 1400hp 4rotorTwin Turbo, RWD converted weapon built by TCP-Magic Japan.
Breaking 2 world records in the 101yrs history of the event and doing so in my rookie year.

thats a rotary thing, they get smoother the higher you rev them. Its hard to shift by feel because you don't get the feedback from vibration or power falling off as much, especially on the PP motors.

As a Huge Mazda supporter, I'm always happy with their achievements, 1400 rotary, twice the power of the 787b, man that is impressive and scary at the same time, congratulations mate, I hope you keep pushing Mazdas to their limits, and not only Rotaries, all Mazdas.

From an Aussie ~ Go you mad Kiwis! That's awesome! I love how you see the finish from inside the car, and it looks a bit wild and crazy, but no real indication of why, but then you play the outside, and the suspension has wound up and the car is crossed up and the dynamics are in a different state, and the back wheels are two inches off the ground, and suddenly that rather frantic view from inside makes all the sense in the world. That was seriously hairy!

I find it to be very difficult to judge speed and force in a video, but I think that fact that at 10:26 you can see that the air bubble in the tank of the hydraulic handbrake is basically at the front, rather than the top. I still can't imagine what it must have felt like, but holy moly...

You might not remember me but I met you back in 2016 during FD Seattle at Evergreen speedway. You were all geared up, sitting in the Miata, getting into the groove. Been a fan of yours since 2011 or 2012, and I got my first car, a 1991 Mazda RX7 Convertible because of my love for your n/a 4 rotor FD RX7. Also got a $340 rotary tattoo because of my car, and you. Maybe one day I'll get to properly introduce myself to you, and shake your hand!

Man how lucky is Mazda Japan to have a guy like Mike? Seriously the dude is a class act, super friendly, absolutely LOVES all cars but he chooses Mazda because they really do suit his driving style. I know so many people who have rotary cars and they don't belong in them. They lug the thing around and foul plugs, don't run a return line and WAAAY more pump and injector that you'll ever think you need. The fact is, you DO need that much fuel in a rotary. They're so difficult to tune if all you've ever tuned in ur life is piston engines man. I'm a tuner at the only shop with an all wheel drive dyno in Reno Nevada. The difference is literally night and day. On the mapping where a piston engine would like to be leaned up a bit, rotaries want ALL the fuel and visa versa. Literally if you understand haltechs fuel chart layout and looked at let's say a 20b side by side with a turbo k20 you'd be like.....what the FUUUUUUCK!?!?!? No bullshit a 20b burns more fuel than my single turbo and fuckin BUILT 2v 4.6 mod motor. Yes, Im the one man in the world who owns a 1998 mustang gt and kept the factory engine. Because 2v 4.6 are the most underrated engine there is. Period. A SOHC V8 with a block and head castings that robust just don't exist in any other platform. My car had 181,000 miles when I pulled it apart. I did a simple knockdown job on the heads, did trick flow stage 5 cams, titanium valves, springs, retainers, keepers, titanium rods, diamond billet pistons, had the stock crank blueprinted, balanced up to 12,000 rpm, lightened, and polished to a literal mirror shine. That well over 200,000 mile stock crank, block, and head castings have held 1100hp for almost 5 years. I did a dingleberry hone on the block. I'm dead fuckin serious this isn't bullshit I swear to God. I know they're a difficult engine to fit into some cars. But it's nowhere near as big as a coyote and you can find them for $600. I ran mine bone stock with a 78mm precision turbo for 2 years. It was still running exceptionally the only reason I did the build is because I won $37,000 playing roulette in Vegas. I had won $6,600 playing blackjack, then walked by a roulette table and looked at my girl. Shes like "Out half of it on 17 black I have a feeling right now." I shit you not it fuckin dropped on 17 black. Oh boy did I give her the best night of sex shes ever had in her entire life. She was still snoring when the maids came by at noon, hahahahaha!! Anyway, BUILD A 2V 4.6!!!!
