@@filthybonnet Bjork was ONE of the many people who wrote this. And when the totally changed song came to Madonna, she produced it and gave it another totally different twist. Probably the original song written by Bjork is, like, 5% of Madonna's.

Gustavo Cano Video has nothing to do with Björk ¬¬ It was completely inspired by all the female surrealist painters like Leonora Carrington and Remedios Varo. There’s a little bit of Frida Kahlo in there, too.

Alex J Obviously the visuals are also inspired by the song itself, which was written by Bjork, Nellee Hooper, and Marius Devries. The director is the greatest creative force in the video, however, not Madonna, who is only singing and acting here, and he is clearly drawing from the world of surrealist painting (which is all about the unconscious mind and its imagery).

She owned and may still possibly own several of these women surrealist painters' works from which she drew inspiration. She talks at length about which particular paintings fired up her imagination. Or even just in HD but having a PROPER REMASTER and not just pushing the 480p file to fake HD. They need to collect the original 35mm negatives from each video, re scan them in 4K and correct scratches and color.

this song is so insanely good and the music video is so bizarre and beautiful. you can definitely tell bjork was behind it in some way. its so hypnotic and brings me to another world i wish i could stay in forever. bedtime stories is by far my fave madonna album, its too underrated. the 90s produced some of the most awesome music of all time.

Guys don't be so negative, this video is an homage of those iconic paintings and Russian surrealist films. You have to show respect to the director and Madonna herself for paying an homage to it. This music video is pure high art that's why i loved it very much because i like the whole imagery comes to life. They don't make music video like this anymore i think you should be thankful that this video existed. Rey Benkos I totally agree. She Björk and Madonna would be an amazing collaboration especially on her new album Utopia conceptually reminds me of Ray of Light with the themes of spirituality. I love it. Madonna doing a trip hop, postmodern, avant garde electronia, ambient, idm, psychedelic, psytrance, pbrnb, type album would be cool. Ray of Light was like Madonna's Dark Side of The Moon, or Kid A, or Sargeant Peppers. Her doing a collaboration with current artists who are in experimental music would be great: Thom Yorke - Everything In its Right Place, James Blake - Wilhelm Scream, Kanye, FKA - Twigs, Aphex Twin - Ambient album, Arca, Anthony Keidis, Frank Ocean, Massive Attack - Teardrop, Portishead - Glory Box, Kaskade & Deadmau5, she could even do a Kabbalistic inspired tune with Matisyahu or a Hindu tune with Anushka Shankar in Sitar. It would be so cool to see Madonna have some drone music or Post-Rock collaboration with Sígur Ros, maybe a collaboration with Cinematic Orchestra, or even Electrosynthpop AltRnb with Little Dragon, or an ambient rap with Drake. Maybe she could even do Sufi Music and collaborate with Scott Matthews, or do something so unusual. There are so many intriguing musical journeys she could take! And modern day singers like Beyonce who have become more experimental, and Sia who was in Zero 7 and performed ambient chillout music like Destiny. Waiting for the next creative experiment from Madonna!

Rey Benkos I just read an interview from Pitchfork with Madonna, and she said she's really inspired by music outside the pop realm like James Blake. 'To be honest, pop music isn’t exciting me too much right now. I mean, do you consider James Blake pop music? I love his music, some of his songs just kill me. He’s a great songwriter. It’s the kind of thing that makes me jealous, like, “Oh! I wish I’d made that" This is promising, Madonna may be entering a new phase of musical experimentation!

Esto no es HD, es el archivo 480p forzado hasta que fuese HD, esto no es una remasterización. Tendrían que haber remasterizado los negativos originales en HD o 4K como Las Christmas, Freedom o Missionary Man. Porque estas "versiones HD" de Madonna son una chapuza, encima con unos videoclips increíbles.

The meaning behind this song (humans being suppressed, enlightenment, giving birth to peace, the crone's hat, etc) most people don't even know, the fact that Madonna agreed with Bjork in this message is amazing, and what a message it was, in such a beautiful production of harmony and sounds, not to mention the stunning visuals to reinforce the message. Probably the biggest under-rated song in history when it comes to production and lyrical content. I will never skip this song, or stop listening to it.

I know Madonna will forever be loved for her pop hits of the 80's such as Like A Virgin, Lucky Star, Get Into The Groove, Open Your Heart, etc...I personally find her 90's period to be the most intriguing. This song and video has to be one of the best things Madonna has ever done. Pure art.

the mere fact that she collaborated with Björk is amazing to me. Can't think of any other mainstream artist that has. Maybe Thom Yorke, but otherwise a very out of the box collaboration for Madonna, and this is one reason she is the greatest pop female artist of all time

Actually for this song madonna asked Marius de Vrie to write/produce a song and Marius de Vrie asked his friend Bjork to co-write with him. What she did! Actually she didn't meet madonna at the time and did it more as a favor to Marius de Vrie than Madonna.

This track is an example of how Madonna has always been at the tip of the iceberg for dance music. bedtime stories is a high quality album, very eclectic, it has ballads, R&B hip hop, dance music. I think Madonna's most creative time was the nineties.

It's not her team, but you may know that Madonna has had huge issues with Warner - the director hated her guts, so they just did nothing - or the bare minimum, to keep the work on her catalogue. There were lots of album anniversary projects ready to be launched, that didn't see the light because of that. Now that that boss has left, perhaps we can hope for some interesting re-releases in the future.

It's not HD. They need PROPER REMASTERS and not just pushing the 480p file to fake HD. They need to collect the original 35mm negatives from each video, re scan them in 4K and correct scratches and color.
