All that moving, dancing, and really singing...no voice-overs, no lip syncing, no tapes to fill in....this is the real deal. To sing and be winded takes strength, stamina, and training. She is basically singing while leading an aerobics class! Amazing! I loved being in my 20s in the '80's! Best decade ever for music.

I disagree. Madonna used autotune very often, both in recordings and live performances. But I think she used it wisely and she can do it because she is professional. Very different from singers in the beginning using autotune every time they record or perform.

I love this song, her very first big hit! I taught aerobics to this, got my college degree, married the LOVE OF MY LIFE, all in the mid eighties! I married the most handsome, sexy, sweet man that God ever lut on this earth in 1985. He passed away from cancer, a brain tumor. In March of 2012. He was/is my soulmate, and he always took me out dancing, we got dressed UP & GOT DOWN!!! WE HAD SO MUCH FUN, 80's music takes me too my happy places! There is not one Female performer to date who had the Popularity explosion Madonna had in 1984 and 1985. Nobody. Those who were alive then, can not dispute that weather you like her or not. She was HUGE and that was an understatement. You could not turn the radio on without hearing one of her songs. I think that fact in 2023 she is still the biggest selling female recording artist in history is mute testimony of this fact.

This was all live vocals. No backing track. She truly is underated as a singer. Whenever there's a best singers list she's never there. Madonna in a live performance is out of this world. In this live aid performance she raises the bar so high that it is practically impossible for any modern female singer to match the non stop dancing while singing without autotune 🔥🔥🔥. Amazing breath control. If any of these modern female singers tries this without auto tune singing and dancing nonstop and then compare this to this live performance you will then appreciate the greatness of this singer. This is something so amazing, never achieved before, and certainly could not be achieved even close nowadays. I was living in a socialist country in eastern Europe, with only two channels, state owned, and they broadcast it live. I was 10 and watched some great live performances for the first time, no stars were doing concerts in East Europe then. So true and there were so many viable music genres back then. Now there is no music scene at all, just fooling around with IPhones all day.

@@joshooahh The mood of the country and the world was MUCH different then...and much more optimism about the future. Not to mention that the music industry had many more different viable genres then. Sorry for the nostalgia, but there was nothing more enjoyable like going to the record store and buying an album...haha.

That girl OWNED the 80's and 90's. Barely a year missed without one OR MORE hits on the charts. (Correction Madonna was second to Whitney in the 80s) And the true happiness in her smile, this is only like 3 years into her hit run.....

@@user-kj1pq6zh3x no, also the 90s. Vogue, Justify My Love, This used to be my playground, Take a bow, Frozen, Ray Of Light, The Power Of Good-Bye were major hits all over the planet. And Music in 2000 was even bigger than anything she’s done since Vogue.
