She seems so peaceful here, calmer and more self-assured than other eras. 😌

I love this makeup on her. She's usually very "polished" with makeup, but this is more experimental.

Geezuz...forgot what she used to look like and how she portrayed herself... that whole era was an inspiration to me growing up, I remember back then, her saying she wanted to inspire people to be a better version of themselves. The world needs this Madonna again, who wasn't polarising, worldly and inclusive of all, a message for all. Perfection. ❤

You could swim in those eyes, she never looked more beautiful to me than at this time. She is very reminiscent of Botticelli's Venus with those gorgeous, beachy ringlets. Everything about this era was magic. Her collaboration with William Orbit was a career highlight for her creatively. I also enjoyed her work with Mirwais and Stuart Price. But to be honest I haven't enjoyed anything she has released since Confessions On A Dance Floor. That was her last great record in my opinion. I wish she'd go back to being more authentic rather than trying so hard to be relevant. But even though I haven't enjoyed her recent material, I will always admire her, she's a remarkable woman and deserves more credit. She's a trailblazer on so many levels.

A friend whose not a Madonna fan. Could careless. But recently said her best era was Ray of Light. She was fantastic then. Yep. I love that she’s genuinely kind and compassionate here. She’s not trying to be shocking or anything. She’s answering all the questions in detail graciously. Probably why her tour didn’t start til 2001 a year after the Music album. Her child was a old enough.

Back in time French , visiting London with school . My first voyage outside France . And for me , go to London , mean : go to record shop to buy cds and vinyl from BJORK ^^ The place of my dream , my Disneyland ; virgin megastore. My god I see myself , teen , to happy to be in front of this shop , with cash on my pocket :) to buy bjork stuff . I go inside the shop : heart attack ^^ Big sound system inside , with music on , drum and bass style music with awesome beats an perfect bass . I immediately try to found « a red guy « , with my bad English , hello sir , please , can you tell me the name of this song please ???? ( no Shazam in 1998) ;) Yes , this is the new album of madonna : ray of light . I was in shock ;) Little star track . I immediately take the album of madonna , and of course cds remix of bjork and joga vinyl ^^ Great memories this 1998 era ^^

This is a Swedish interview that was aired in Sweden to promote Ray Of Light. It was differently edited, but I remember the questions and how relaxed Madonna was with the reporter. I think his name was Bobo..?

When Madonna first came out in the early to mid 80s, I wasn't into her music at all. Just didn't care for her and the trend of girls wearing giant bows, etc in their hair. As I got older, and learned a bit more of life, I started to love her music and just the fact of how sharp of a business woman she is. She knew how to really standout, push boundaries and lived the way she wanted in front of a judgemental world. An inspiration to me in my 20s and 30s. It is sad now how she refused to age gracefully. She is becoming like everyone else in Hollywood, music, etc. Destroying herself with plastic surgery and acting like an older woman trying to be young and relevant. One cannot hold on to stardom forever. Its time to pass the torch.
