Both are with auto-tune. The broadcast used live auto-tune and pitch-correction went wrong. The version from her official KZfaq channel fixed her vocals properly. Watch the videos from the venue for the real vocals without auto-tune.

She was using “Live Autotune” (during the live version) which malfunctioned and ruined the whole thing.

Can't blame it on age. There are many artists even older than she is that can still sing perfectly in key, without needing autotune... I never saw this, can't believe how cringe it was!

Even young. A female voice are différent on live with the album. Listen amy Lee or Simone simons on the stage and the studio album. Not thé same voice even if it s same year .

someone said what probably happened is the live pitch-correction "corrected" her pitch one half-note too low, and that makes so much sense to me, listening to this. it's so bad, it's insane how big a difference such a small bit of distortion makes. I remember watching this live and not really being a fan of madonna, and not knowing the song beforehand, I literally couldn't grasp the melody or where this song was going. I was so confused and felt like maybe I just wasn't "getting" it lol.

Madonna’s not a Great Singer But she’s always been Able to Stay on Pitch before.... Being a Great performer means Squat, when your Extremely Out Of TUNE., And Madonna Was HORRIBLY OUT OF TUNE @Eurovision 2019!

I think the problem was that she was so much out of tune that her autotune even couldn't correct it. Before this i was already worried she was going to perform at Eurovision. I was watching with my mom and we where like 😮

The live autotune basically doesn't work for vibratos and this one in particular was messed up and she herself messed up with the tool who didn't work how it should. She was basically fighting with the autotune line and the tool just doesn't work that way. It doesn't "understand" the ups and lows of some trained singers. I also think the stairs in this performance is a mistake because she has to breathe. Seen this song performed live by herself many times is this is by far the worst.

Этой проблеме сто лет в обед, контест проходил в Израиле, вон у исландских бдсмщиков тоже флаги Палестины. Ничего мистического, как многие впечатлительные персоны полагают, в перформансе Мадонны нет. Она просто выступила на злобу дня, просто с тех пор злоба эта ещё усилилась

there was an error - that's all - she's never out of tune - I can only think that she either heard it differently through her earpiece or she HAD to sing out of tune in order that auto tune changes it up?

Sorry people Madonna's voice has always been audio tuned from the very get-go even when she first started out her voice was audio always audio tune because she didn't have a great voice her voice sucked so much that's why they always auto-tuned her voice she's not all that great of a singer but she is a damn well good performer and a good Entertainer but as far as singing ability goes she's okay and what I'm talking about okay is the bottom of okay because she ain't all that great but her performance and acting abilities is Grand but everything else of her music it's okay

Very opinionated take. No fan boy here, but some quick fact check: Madonna's first record was released 1985, she produced and recorded with Nile Rodgers. There was no such pitch correction method on analogue audio equipment back at that time. She was always known to be a fast, first-take-recording artist. It's the vocal performance and style and attitude that sold it. But I agree, her vocal chops were always more on the "ok-ish" but very recognisable side and age doesn't help anyone. And this performance left me speechless when I watched the original broadcast live. Still, she's a legend for a reason :)

Auto tune was created in 1997 and wasn't used live for some time after that. Whilst I agree she was never the best vocalist she did dance and sing live. I'm not really a Madonna fan - some of the recordings are good.
