Mafia II is much better than Mafia III!

am i the only one who thinks that mafia 2 has better graphics,story,sountrack,gameplay than mafia 3?

Mafia 3 was still a fun game to play and i enjoyed it but Mafia 2 was obviously the high point of the franchise.

I agree 2 is so much better than 3 ever could be. But the first bit on this video was not fair. You compared a scripted scene in Mafia 2 (when Vito comes home) to generic walking around in Mafia 3. A fair comparison would have been either comparing the same scene in Mafia 2 to the Mardi Gras bit in Mafia 3 (still lackluster compared to Mafia 2) OR compared walking around clips of both games.. The way its set up now makes the video come off extremely biased from the start. Just a friendly tip :) keep the videos coming :D

The reason Mafia 2 looks so alive is because that's part of a mission right at the beginning of the game where as in mafia 3 that was just going around the open world

My biggest complaint with Mafia 3(which is a common complaint) is that it is SO DAMN REPETITIVE! And honestly that wouldn't be the worst thing if the game was just sooo fun that I wouldn't even care about it being repetitive, but it wasn't. I'm a gamer that cares more about actual gameplay then graphics/story etc. Like a game can have a shitty ass story but if it was fun as hell to play then I would rate it high. An example would be Star Ocean 4 for the PS3. Forgettable story with terrible voice acting, but damn did I have a blast with the game cause the gameplay was excellent(IMO) so I'd give Star Ocean 4 a 9.5/10, it was honestly one of the most enjoyable games for me on the PS3. Now what does this have to do with Mafia 3 for me personally at least? Well, Mafia 3's story was good. The game looked pretty nice as well, but the gameplay was decent AT BEST. I mean it was fun for a couple hours killing motherfuckers lol but literally every mission in the entire game more or less is the same exact thing. So because of that I'd give Mafia 3 a 6.5/10. Because I did enjoy it, but only for a short while, and no matter how good a story is in a video game, If I'm not having fun playing it then my overall experience with the game drops immensely. I would never go through this game again, once was enough. Edit: And just to make this clear, I do care about stories in video games, all I was saying is that what I care about the MOST by far is the actual gameplay.

I feel this is just a bit unfair at certain points. I agree with u about 90% but things like not being able to customize your car is inaccurate. Yeah mafia 2 had a WAY better customization garage, but mafia 3 does have some cool stuff like ordering back up, bribing cops without getting out of your car, having a car delivered, having guns delivered etc. so Mafia 2 is FAR FAR FAR SUPERIOR than 3, but i’d say if Mafia 2 is a 10/10 i’d give Mafia 3 a 7/10

Mafia III looks good in the trailer but the gameplay is terrible, there is literally nothing you can do except the story line. This game is such a fraud!

Mafia 3 sold on the success of Mafi 1 & 2, This is in my opinion a tell tale sign that there will never be a Mafia 4 and it is a shame because they could have made an empire out of it like Fallout... Mafia fans have now been scared away.

When i completed mafia 2 in 2011 i was desperately waiting for mafia 3 and was checking on google after every month but when mafia 3 came out i saw the gameplay i didnt even think of buying it even if it was cheaper than bf1 (i bought bf1 instead)

I just want to say this. I had such high hopes for Mafia 3. Now I will not say it's a bad game overall because it is not. However, I am personally fond of Mafia 2, It is my favorite of the series. Now I personally enjoy the "sight seeing" aspect of Mafia3 as far as buildings and greenery go. What I do truly despise about this game is the fact that combat mechanics become redundant after a while (as with most games) however these were particularly excruciating.

I don't really care what anyone else says, but Mafia II's story is so fucking good, its movie like. Every character was truly developed, and it made them unique. It's such a story driven game, and story driven games like The Last of Us, and Uncharted are really good. But then Mafia 3 just kills the whole Mafia vibe (they should call it Mob cause it nothing about the Mafia) and they just throw out the last two games. Just some random documentary about some random bad ass black guy. And the main character is pretty badass, but so boring. Vito had a life, like in the cut scenes he would flirt with girls, bring over prostitutes, and was pretty comical and funny at the right times. But then Lincoln's is just kill, watch my friends get killed, get mad, kill some more, kill a bit more, watch associates cry and be babies. They pulled a saints row, and they completely killed Vito's story and character. I wanna forget Mafia 3 so I can go back and wish, then get something good... And the graphics suck. But, its fun for a little while. I'm just sad the good old story of Vito and Joe has been fucked in the asshole. Infact the good old story of the Mafia has been fucked in the asshole, with no lube.

The AI in Mafia 3 is terrible, but w/ that said, I enjoyed the game very much. Excellent story, phenomenal voice acting.

So he basically compared doors and opening and closing stuff and saying the game sucks for that, the game wasn't made for you to care about opening and closing stupid doors it was made for the story granted the customising the car thing now that's understandable but he's saying the game sucks cuz you can't open the hood or trunk and you can't close opened doors in sorry but I just don't agree with his logic here. The game is a story driven game and it isn't better than mafia 2 but It doesn't suck as bad as he's making it to be. Mafia 3 is a cool story game that you can sit and just play

I see your point. All these small things make a game alive. Like buying Hot Dogs, drink a whiskey in a bar, interacting with the world in any way and things like closing the damn hood of the car when it's raining like that. You missed so much in the opening scene, there's a whole diner you can walk through and have conversations with people you haven't seen in years, you can stop in the street to talk with that old lady about your mama, or to talk to a guy you knew from before who's now boarding up his shop and he explains that it's due to the war and the fuel shortage and the prices etc. and it just makes that world feel so real and alive.

Mafia 3 - added after update, more coming with DLC Mafia 2 - variety of useless things to interact with to make the world feel more alive. Mafia 3 - ........ Mafia 2 - Cops would fine, they would arrest you (you could bribe them), or they would kill you. Mafia 3 - they can only kill you. Mafia 2 - Pretty decent car customization with paints, liveries, wheels, plates, and engine upgrades. Mafia 3 - Locked behind an upgrade menu, and there is no personal touch, its just *poof* you have an intake sticking out your hood now. Mafia 2 - Cars had realistic damage. Mafia 3 - Cars are pretty solid and take little damage unless you full on crash them. Mafia 2 - Driving fast and crashing would kill you. Mafia 3 - Driving really fast and hitting a wall head on will kill you.

Thats right, I hate the fact I can't close doors on mafia 3. Go into an area with a few hostiles and one always circles back behind you, which is fine but in real life I could close (and would) close a door behind me in certain situations to stay out of sight or to add another layer of protection to my back. Only being able to open doors in the game is really stupid. Otherwise it's not a terrible game.

One more thing. In Mafia II you can rob shops and if you'll leave the place and go back there will be cops talking to the cashier or examining the body and guess what. YOU CAN'T DO THAT IN MAFIA III.

Comparing Mafia 2 to Mafia 3 is like comparing GTA 4 to GTA 5

There are always more than enough people who pre order games and blindly trust those trailers sadly. If we would stop doing that, they will make GOOD games again. Since everything is about money. No sales = they will listen to the customers demand. Good marketing = good sales, doesn't matter if the game is actually good.

I really miss the gas and the speed limit as well as the interactions with the world. But the story line is chilling honestly. The cops piss me off and the repetitive fight scenes get old but if mafia 3 was a movie, I would be totally fucking captivated.
