Hmm...I failed today. I cried when for the fourth time, his anxiety visibly increasing with each time, asked hopefully in breaking voice if we are going shopping and not to school.

Love your thoughts, Maggie! Our kids need gentle, safe support during this time. Hap Palmer had a song "My Mommy Comes Back". It's a great song to sing to prep for these moments as well as afterwards to remind them mommy did come back. Going to the playground of your child's school during the summer is one simple way for your child to get used to some of the surroundings and have a positive mental association with the physical place. That quick getaway is super important, too. Thanks for another great video! Thumbs up!

Thank you so much Mrs Maggie! I currently have a child in my classroom who is adapting to us and is experiencing intense separation anxiety and this is gold! Could you recommend a book for separation anxiety in this age? I would like to improve further on my methods dealing with such instances. Thank you once again for a lovely video 🥰🐈
