In this game their impact was almost nothing. I've played a LOT of nurgle games and I've never had a game where I roll so few disease points. I think I did maybe 3 mortals the whole game from disease, maybe 4. It was actually a bit comical.

Yep - we hadn't thought about not being affected by the storm, but they *might have* been able to get some shots off turn 1!

Oops, this one is on me, I thought the mission rule prohibited targeting outside of that range, didn't realize it was merely a visibility limitation.

Yes, When I built the army Gnarlmaws had been sold out with GW for close to a year with no end in sight so I ended up doing custom ones.

Bear in mind the catapults are only 375pts. I probably won't run all 3 very often but my thoughts on them is they are well worth 125pts each, even if they don't do a ton of damage because your opponent is terrified of them. There aren't many situations like this where your opponent's main threat can sit outside their range so effectively. It isn't a huge investment and their potential for damage is really high so I don't feel they are a gamble per se. The main challenge here is that Nurgle lacks tools to express threat onto a unit of 15 bow snakes its open season on your army. I don't think any Nurgle build can handle that situation well due to lack of mobility. Also, I've had those old Hellcannons for like 20 years and finally have a use for them so #ruleofcool wins. :)

Fair points!! Just saying that relying on cannons + horrorghast combo didn’t seem too reliable. It was cool to see though and as you say those cannons are cool enough to see the battlefield. Thank you for the report and I hope you get luckier dice rolls next time :-)

Its a flaw in the writing of the rule for plague of misery making it a lot less powerful than it otherwise could/should be. It specifically only applies to "heroes", which means unit champions can issue commands as normal. Because of this in 95% of cases Plague of Misery is irrelevant. I'm personally convinced that whoever wrote that rule forgot that almost every unit in the game has a unit champion that can issue the command instead.

@@hestia8790 Yeah, just is what it is, hopefully something that gets fixed next time Nurgle gets a new book. Its not 100% useless as it still stops the 4+ rally command which has to come from the snake hero and does deny two heroic actions but overall much like most of the wheel it doesn't impact the game very much.

I also wish the games went to completion but if Jordan says there isn't a reason to play it out I believe him

Of course, not every game has to be played to the end, but I found this one really exciting until the last round.

Honestly, its always a tough decision on when to call the game. In this case, it was mathematically impossible for me to recover the deficit even if a miracle happened so we generally don't feel it is worth playing out the rest of the game at that point. We would rather use the extra time it takes to film/edit a longer video and invest that in future videos or build more armies rather than redundantly recording and editing a foregone conclusion.

The rule says that heroes can't issue inspiring presence, units are still allowed to - so we did it 100% correctly.
