Dan Jones Bedtime Stories for Grown Ups... This is a Slumberland sleep story for grown ups. In this cozy bedtime story you journey through a magical woodland, finding your way to a beach, gazing over a stormy ocean towards a lighthouse on an island. You walk along the beach towards a cabin, finding shelter in that cabin as a storm rolls in. Inside the cabin, you find a trapdoor in the floor, you descend under the cabin and follow a long tunnel, under the ocean and out to the lighthouse on an island. You explore the lighthouse, before settling down and falling asleep to the sound of the storm outside, drifting and floating peacefully and relaxed, asleep into Slumberland.
This is the final story in the Arthurian inspired trilogy of Magical Bedtime Stories...
This is a hypnosis sleep story to reduce anxiety, worry and stress as well as to help you fall asleep fast, sleep all night and wake feeling refreshed...
This Slumberland bedtime sleep story for grown ups includes sounds of walking through evening woodland, sounds of the ocean and sounds of a storm outside and rain on a window also with occasional soft music. At the end of the narration, the storm and rain on a window sounds continue on for the remainder of the 3 hours, so you can fall asleep with that relaxing sound of the storm and rain.

I was just testing releasing just before most of my viewers watch the video, rather than in time for UK viewers first (which is about 4 hours before the sharp rise in US views). So far though, this is my worst performing video since I started doing the magical stories. It did get the most views in the first few hours compared to my other videos because they all released 4 hours before most viewers watch and this released when most viewers watch, but as of right now it has the lowest views at 8 hours since going live. Obviously this might even out or change with time, but at least initially this has been my worst performing video. It is also the first of these videos where the net subscriber rate is negative, rather than gaining subscribers. There is a fault in the video, which I fixed with KZfaq's editor, but I'm waiting for KZfaq to show they have implemented the fix. That could be contributing to the lower performance.

@@DanJonesHypnosis personally, I liked this time as it fits better with my bedtime so I do hope it evens out but ultimately you've got to do whats best for your channel, so if it doesn't work it doesn't work. Will sack the later release or try it out a bit more? Like Ellen said, sounds are really nice in this one

It by the next release it hasn't worked for this video then I will go to the normal time. It shouldn't make any difference for US audience as it just means that instead of it going live just before bed, it is already available for when you get to bedtime, but for a UK/EU audience it means they have to essentially wait until Wednesday nighttime before they get to listen to the video, so it makes a lot more sense releasing it at 11pm, because then UK/EU people can listen at bedtime and 4 hours later US/Canada etc people can listen as their bedtimes roll around and they will know the video is there waiting to listen to that night. Most videos I watch seem to be released about 8am UK time, but I don't watch any of them until the end of the day, and like knowing earlier in the day that I've got those videos to look forward to that evening...

I’m afraid I have to say, I’m not keen on your new style of narration. It sounds strangely robotic and forced to me. I had to stop the video and find your older material where your narration is so much more natural and soothing - like on the recent sleep story about finding wisdom with the humpback whales, that worked on me really well! Please consider going back to classic Dan Jones style!

I still post the same old style stories every single week on my Dan Jones Slumberland KZfaq channel. These stories and my classic style are the same style of recording, except these have sound effects. My first few Magical stories were slightly different in that I fully scripted them, but this took about 30-40 hours to write the script, which in my opinion made them some of the best stories I've done in terms of wording, because I was able to work more on descriptions etc and on accuracy when talking about real locations (like the outback story), but because it took so long to just write the scripts, I reduced time spent on editing and didn't remove my breath noises, which people commented made the stories sound staccato. Usually I have been removing most breath noises in my stories for years, but this takes hours. When I got the comments about the breathing I decided I would have to edit out breaths again, so had to save time elsewhere and decided to go back to ad-libbing the stories like my classic stories, so this is what I did in this story and in previous stories and subsequent stories, so this is adlibbed like my classic stories. The only difference is I usually adlib from a random list of words, whereas because I have to keep these simple (for SFX reasons and the time it takes if I have to do complex SFX) I write an outline of the bases I want to cover in the story (this is what I read at the beginning of the story when I summerise the story, this is the only bit I read. In my classic stories I don't read anything), then I use this description instead of a random list of words. I absorb myself in the experience of the story and create a story to match the description, working from one beat to the next. The only other thing I have is two bullet points, one saying insert body scan here and stating at what point I want to have the body scan and then I have insert countdown here stating where I want the countdown, then when I reach those points I transition to adlibbing the body scan or countdown. But other than that they are made identically to my classic stories (which post weekly on my other channel and weekly on Patreon (I post two classic stories per week and a magical story per week)). I record them in the same voice and at the same time back to back and then edit them the same, but then the magical stories have sound effects added. These, as they are much simpler and created from a brief outline of story beats are more relaxed and less forced and the vocal recording is far less stressful to do, whereas often my classic ones are created while I'm stressed trying to do them, especially older classic ones like the Finding Wisdom story which was from almost five years ago (because I wasn't doing this full-time, so didn't have a process in place for randomly generating enough words to work with), where I'm trying to come up with an actual story, trying to make sure it is therapeutic to help with at least stress, anxiety and worry and trying to have that story last a minimum of 30 minutes but aiming for 45 and happy if I can hit 60. Whereas the magical stories, I just have to absorb myself in a simple journey and maybe light story beats, like absorbing myself in describing a beach and view to a lighthouse, in the sensory experience of heading to a cabin, the sensory experience of following a tunnel, of being in a lighthouse during a storm etc, and I've mostly just got my eyes shut imagining the experience and talking about the experience I'm imagining. I do this during my classic stories, but I also have to include more plot and possibly characters etc
